Despite doing business with them for years, in the end they stole my money just like everyone claims. I knew I should have listened. Learn from my mistake, and don't do business with them.

I personally have never had issues with stripe directly, however when trying to integrate it into a 3rd part i ran into issues. Its a good payment processor but they need better support for sure
When you do refunds, they take all of your transaction fees. No cap. Watch out for refunds. Even if it is customer fault or even the same day, they charge you all of the transaction fees.
Stripe - Avoid them, read the reviews. We had a new start up business and they froze our account with no explanation, they haven't responded to emails and still have over £1000 of ours in the account and are refusing to acknowledge our contact, this has been going on for over 1 year and this can have a massive impact on a new start up business. READ OTHER REVIEWS THAT SAY THE SAME - I wish I had!
I've run a legitimate business I run service calls I need to take a credit card from a client client gave me the card I set up a stripe app and instead of getting my money I had nothing but issues and reasons why they won't give me my money saying it's fraudulent which I've sent them my clients and American Express documents stating that he never flagged it for fraud and so on I've sent in all my corporate documents to prove I'm legitimate and they still won't give me my money it's been two and a half months then they just give you pre-written rebuttals when you email them no phone calls nothing never go with this company they are a bunch of robbing thieves lying scumbags
Stripe is the WORST merchant you can use for your business. They do not help you when a customer disputes a charge. Stripe also DOE NOT HAVE A CUSTOMER SERVICE phone line, chat, or link! If you need help you will be stuck with no help from anybody.

Stripe has held $******* of my funds for apparently extra verification. I have provided all documentation including social media pages, pricelists, Partner certificates etc. Every email is dealt with with by a different agent who has no info. I got an email saying the review was successful yet my payments still are not being processed. When I query, I am told that I can accept card payments but payments are still under review, huh. This is a fully verified award winning business verified several times and for one year we do not have a single charge back or fraud case and no one seems to know what to do. Now our funds are held for absolutely no reason with the worst support ever seen in any company. If anyone is interested I could upload all the emails for you to see how ridiculous Stripe support is. They will even ask you to verify your identity by clicking on a link they send by email and entering your credit card details.
18 months of a solid experience, very low chargeback rate with millions of $ in revenue and even allowed us to move to daily payouts. We launched in the USA with a bit of a rocky start and an increase chargeback rate, from one day to the other Stripe - Arlene Hughes froze our account with $250.000 in there which are desperately needed to pay for our overheads as a non-funded extremely fast-growing startup.We have supplied dozens of supporting documents proving the strong financial position the company and the founder are in and showing the previously excellent performance of my company. Despite this they continue to freeze our funds without a clear answer on when they will be released. We have offered for Stripe to freeze 100.000 and release the rest back to us but even this has been ignored. Currtly being escalated through court. Having to protect your company is completely understandable, however the way you have dealt with us after any precious issues/warnings is absolutely appalling and will directly put people out of a job. Disgusting.
I've been using stripe for about 2/3 years now and at first, I didn't have any trouble at all. Then out of nowhere, I get an email from support saying that my account has been frozen and needs to be reviewed (after two years of use with no problems).
First, they made me update my website URL then in another email, they made me update contact info, descriptions and etc. on the homepage--all of which felt like they were trying to police how I run and operate my business.
I'm on my second week of adjusting my emails, website and jumping through hoops for them to unfreeze my account. And the last email I got from them was simply "thanks for updating everything, now our team will re-review everything." It feels manipulative to do everything they've asked over the span of two weeks only to get a final, vague, gray answer with my account payments still being frozen--I'm afraid to process any more payments from customers because I don't know if my account is okay or not. It's been very disruptive to my work and team.
Well after 6 month of complete stress we got part of the money I find it hard to imagine how this company is still in business really taking people's money and telling you all sorts of things not to pay you out and of course very clever not to have phone numbers so all you get is computer response not humans
There was a article in the Mirror of how clever the brothers where and the youngest billionaires well it's easy on other people's money I guess this is a high level ponzi and you can be lucky for even a few yours but it seems they catch everyone in the end large or small I know over 200 people contacted the Mirror who are following up the complainants made buy those people and I hope they expose them before more people are plunged into debt as a result of Stripe holding money for 6 mths or more with hour good or factual evidence
BE CAREFUL if you are a small company STEER CLEAR. They accepted my application and then blocked my account on my first sale saying we were high risk. If that was the case they shouldn't have accepted us in the first place and it would have been fine.
Thankfully this happened now and not when I had more sales, but I have read other people weren't as lucky AND LOST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
Oh and they send you an email blaming it on the bank or customer not authorizing the payment but it's really them because I contacted the customer and she even offered to pay again if refunded.

I paid my mechanic. Stripe did not pay the mechanic. Stipe said mechanic's transactions not enough money, cancelled ac count and informed mechanic they would refund the monies to my account. 60 days later, NO REFUND TO MY ACCOUNT and NO PAYMENT TO MECHANIC. STRIPE IS USING OTHERS MONIES FOR THEIR OWN GAIN AND UNJUSTLY ENRICHING THEMSELF. A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT NEEDS TO FILED AGAINST STRIPE.

It was very easy to set up an account and start taking payments, but in only a few days, I got a notice that my business -- in spite of a fifteen year track record with no complaints or refund requests -- was not "eligible" for Stripe's services. They refused to release the money they had already taken from my customers, and gave me a six month run-around, passing me around to various tech support and customer support emails, with absolutely no help except to resend their "terms of service" over and over and over. Look at the number of other small business owners who have gone through exactly the same thing, and ask yourself: As a small business owner, do I really have time and energy to fight with a company like Stripe? Run for another payment processor -- before trying Stripe, I used Paypal Business for years with zero problems. Stripe exists to scam small business owners, and if you want evidence, look at the fact that you CANNOT get in touch with a human being.
Stripe Has Failed to deliver our payments for more then 40 days! While in the contract funds should arrive within 48 working days. Zero Support from their side, not even an email! And Still they are Charging us TOTAL FEES. All Stripe Payment Attempts has failed for the past 40 days, Regarding the bank Messages to correct the errors, and our tons of Emails to correct the errors. So far we have 7 failed attempts of more then 4000 euros. Zero Support from STRIPE SIDE.
And after struggle, a Support through 3rd party ( SITEMINDER) was able to communicate with them. Promising to fix the issue. Still PENDING.
We Are for sure Changing our Payment Gateway to a more Reliable one after this Finaical Crisis is Resolved.
PS: while setting up STRIPE we have added all the correct details and the payments were coming in for the first 2 months regularly. And then NOTHING.
This company keeps 25% our hard earned money for 60 full days for whatever reason. They are going to get what is coming for them. Their time is coming.
Stripe canceled our clinic account because we test for and treat COVID when it's very early on and the progression can be stopped, before a patient is forced to go to the hospital. They made the decision unilaterally without the medical knowledge or comprehension to make such a determination. It is a small clinic in a rural community, one of the only ones. Urgency of testing and treatment has kept many community members from having to go the hospital. Small clinics are vital to rural America, and the capability to accept payment instead of ins. Only is just as important. Attempts to dispute were met with canned emails and delays. That was not a surprise, however, as their customer service is to the same standard. Your best bet is to contract outside labor to set up their system and integrate it with you existing tools, unless you are an I. T. yourself.
The best thing you can do is, find another service. This one just isn't worth the risk or the aggravation, and small businesses don't have time to deal with either.
Its been two weeks now and I still have over 10,000 dollars sitting in my stripe account. It takes days to get a response from support and then when you finally do get a response, it is always vague and unhelpful. They don't even look into your issue, they just regurgitate some vague response and then put you back in the wiating qeue. No Phone either, impossible to get a hold of anyone. Stripe has blocked my account from payouts for more than 1 month. Same sort of issue was solved with PayPal in less than 24 hours.
It is more than 1 month ago, i provided all the documents they asked for. They just kept asking for more and more documents. All was provided instantly. Since then, customer service is sending us in circles. Not solving the issue, even it is a simple issue.
This stripe account is being used to collect money to humanitarian aid for innocent victims of war in Ukraine. I have all the nescessary licenses from the goverment, which has been submitted to Stripe more than 1 month ago.
Since then, the customer service sends us in circles every day we contact them. Not even an explanation. This is the second time they shut down our account and refuse to open it, despite we send them the nescessay documentation as requested.
On the other hand, our organisation was victims for identity theft. Some scammers took our identity and used it to scam money from innocent people. This was reported to Stipe more than 2 months ago, and the have still not reacted to this.
SHAME ON YOU!
