Don't do business with this company they locked my grandsons phone after we transferred all the info after being told to left him without a phone we where told they were not allowed to do it
Be careful of these phones. Have had to return 9 defective phones to Walmart in 3 days. Their own reps couldn't even activate the phones. Do I keep trying with new phones?
Straight talk customer service is the WORST. Took two weeks back and forth to transfer my and my wife's number to another carrier. They CHANGED MY BILLING ADDRESS AND ZIP CODE in order to delay and prevent my transfer of number to the other carrier. Avoid at all costs!
Good luck getting out of this trap of a company. The customer service stinks. I was on the phone for 52 minutes the first time to try to stop service and unlock my phone, keeping the phone number I had for YEARS and portered to them when I bought a new phone with Straight Talk tied to it. A confirmation number was given and a promise of an email for my PIN number to transfer received. They never emailed me. Finally with another hour to burn while I also again was working and trying to do the dozen things I need to do while on perpetual hold and even giving them the confirmation number that was supposed to facilitate everything I was on hold 28 minutes only to be transferred to another department with another wait to a person who had no idea what I needed. Repeated the info and confirmation number and transferred again by a rep who then disconnected the line instead. Another 54 minutes of my busy life wasted. How can phone "experts" not know how to email or to transfer a call? What a lousy company!
Stay away, if you don't have Verizon already you will be unhappy. They will allow you to purchase time then shut off your service because your not Verizon.
Will steal your money, will screw you over on customer service calls. It just isn't worth it. Go with another company. The cheapness isn't worth it at all.
Never try to use your reward points
They will disconnect your service
And you will lose credit for service you have already paid
Had automatic payment for 3 years
Have always paid my bill went to use my reward points to get a free month
And they took my points and shut off my phone
And I lost 2 weeks of phone time I had already paid for
It's been three days since they changed something and I no longer have any service, something they have done I call in wait 45min get someone go through everything for the 6th time they say they need to transfer and just hang up or call is dropped finally get to someone it's been 8am-1130 on the third day I finally get a specialist without being dropped he says I have to turn off my wifi and phone and on and make a call I say I've done this 10 times now he assures me thats it then hangs up I turn it all off and wait and back on and now my wifi calling won't even work now and still the same original problem of having now service. Two days ago it was saying I was roaming out of network and had to buy a plan from Verizon now nothing at all.
I bought a new phone that did not work. I ended up with the online help desk, no help there. Went to the store and returned the broken phone with a new one. ST couldn't track which of the phones should be activated, the broken one or the exchanged one. After hours on the chat, it seemed to get straightened out. But...t hey cancelled my service after 2 days because I was taken off of autopay. They said they didn't have payment information even though I was looking at it in their online portal. Online chat help: Those customer service reps try to "close" your case as soon as possible. They will ask you for information not readily available and message you a phone number or tell you to contact them again later... we're talking after 5 seconds or so. They will provide you with steps to work on and try to close the case before you start on them and before you know if what they suggested will even work. Calling the help desk via phone: You have to repeated say "Operator" to talk to a live person. The phone bot doesn't even mention operator as an option. If you say it 5+ times though you will eventually be connected.
Once you are signed on to Straight Talk, your service is pretty seamless. But, GOOD LUCK getting a Bring Your Own Phone Plan to WORK! Like one of the other posts here, they insisted I was trying to register two phones on one activation package (which I was not) they told me the phone was not eligible for activation (which it was), they told me they were working on it and it would take 25 hours from our conversation (three times), then told me that they had to send a NEW SIM Card, after I just purchased one. And, I would have to contact my old provider so I didn't lose my phone number! When I said, wait a minute… you transferred my number to StraightTalk, you have it, they said, OH, then we need to get you over to troubleshooting. They will have to do a few things to get your phone up and running. And, by the way, I had to pay $63 for the activation kit, plus ANOTHER $7.41 for another activation code, since they said the first one didn't work.
Good news is, they finally (after 4 days) got the phone up and running. But here's the next battle. It says "save money by enrolling in "auto-refill". Which is not a savings… it is exactly what it would cost over the counter. So I called, and was told "that offer expired in March". Still on the website though! Not worth fighting for $3 a month.
Phone stopped working. Had to buy new sim cards. Customer service could not explain procedures and gave incomplete instructions. Took 6 hours and two trips to store to get phones back working. They turned off both lines. Tried to reach them through internet, told them I do not have any phone services. Rep. Told me to go find another phone somewhere to call them back at 10 pm at night. I told them I am contacting you through your online chat. Send me the verification code, I can send it back. No, can not do that. They send the verification code to my email address, it to the same email address on my account! But I cannot give it to you in chat. Nope, go out and find a phone to talk to us on. Asked for super to explain my situation. Nope. Cannot do. You turned off both my phones. I am dead in the water. No help at all. Crappy customer service. Then, you disconnect the phones and I have to pay for another month of service. So, I had to pay for two months of service on both phones to get service back. And of course, we do not refund. But you caused the issue! It is not right. You caused the issue and I paid the penalty. Then they changed the rewards of course, so now I cannot use that to at least cover one of the lines. Should have know things were going to change with Verzion. BYE FELICIA!
I previously purchased a reconditioned phone, it arrived the next day, and lasted me a very long time. I even dropped it in water!
Although, I bought a brand new galaxy s4 on a saturday with free overnight shipping. Since I ordered it on a weekend, I didn't receive it until February 2nd (4 days ago.) I had to call straight talk customer service to track my phone, seeing as I only recieved an email saying the order was recieved. I tried to track my phone, and the "order number didn't exist.) I thought, mistakes happen. Well, since I've recieved the phone, I haven't dropped it, and treat it like porcelain. It has barely even touched the surface of a table because I set it on a shirt to avoid scratching the screen or camera lens. Like I said, I have not dropped it, bumped it, or anything in the four days I've had it. There is not a single scratch on it, no nicks in the frame of it, no cosmetic damage or system damage at all aside from the smudges you leave from your fingers, yet I go to unlock it and THE SCREEN DOESN'T WORK! It's completely black other than a few green lines. (LCD maybe?) But the point is, I bought a brand new phone and expected it to work as such.
I was so excited to get this phone, and I'm so disappointed in what I have recieved.
The screen no longer works after 0 damage to the phone.
I did not receive an email stating my order was processed or shipped.
And, straight talk bars OS updates, so the system OS is stuck at 4.3
My wife and I bothe had aprox $4 overcharge, and Straight talk said it was about auto pay, which I've had for over 10 year. If they scam millions of people the same way that's alot of money.
Couldn't use my Verizon phone. They couldn't explain why. Ended up using a cheap phone. They're not in America. Snotty. Hard to understand. They end calls without resolving. Takes multiple calls and the issue still won't be fixed. Will start talking and doing things without knowing the issue. Worthless customer service. The rep sent me a web link to resolve the internet not working. I've had to solve almost all issues (resetting APN etc) on my own because customer service always leaves me hanging. I am nice by nature but their customer service pushes me over the edge every time. Recently internet didn't work. I only needed the APN settings. The text wasn't arriving with the settings. They told me I needed to call from a different phone even though they COULD HEAR me because it was a tech support issue. They hung up 6 times without hearing I only needed the settings. Call handle time is important, but they don't even know what's going on. Like scattered ants. I had only 1 rep ever that listened and didn't waste time fixing imaginary issues. He sent me a text with all the info immediately because HE LISTENED! Oh, and according to the reps, each of them are the supervisor. Coverage is bad. Constantly dropping calls. Internet isn't good. You can do better for $50-$60 a month. This is a cheap company created to make easy money.
I would not even give them a 1 star!
My boyfriend's phone was under warranty and his phone started overheating and freezing on him. It's under warranty so we just thought we will just call and have a replacement phone sent. I called to get a replacement sent. They sent a FedEx envelope for me to send it to them. And they said after they get the phone we will have the replacement phone in 3-5 business days. When I received the FedEx envelope I thought it was strange that there was no tracking number on the label for me to keep to track it to make sure they got it. I sent it anyway cause we needed his phone replaced cause he uses it for his lawn care company. So I sent it off at the end of June. I got the replacement phone finally in October! I would call 2-3 times a week to find out where his phone was! I was lied to SO many times! And then when we finally did get the phone that one was locking up on the second day! I calle d the BBB on them. Then they going to tell me that I have to send the phone I have first before they would replace it again! I talked to a guy name King the assistant manager at the corporate office and he had NO customer service with him at all! Even got smart with me! I am sending this phone off yet again and so help me if it takes 4 months to get this one I will see and make sure that this customer service department will feel the heat! I have at&t. I will NEVER use straight talk. Yes it is cheaper but come customer service you gert what you pay for!
Had an issue with my sim not connecting to my phone, I was transferred and hung up on 7+ times. The "managers" had no idea what they were saying and kept insisting that my sim would magically start working after I turned off my phone for 15 minutes and called back. I called and gave all the info on the card and account made that day and then Said they are unable to give me information on how to fix my issue because they couldn't confirm my account because the only way to was to a. Receive a text with a code (but I didn't have service that worked) b. Tell them the credit card I had used to purchase the plan (I didn't use a credit card) or c. Tell them a number I recently called or texted (I NEVER HAD SERVICE). Because of this I also couldn't receive a refund for a defective product as they couldn't "confirm my account". The "manager" refused to transfer me to anyone else and insisted that they were the only person I could talk to even though I would say my phone didn't have service and she would ask "but how many bars do you have?" None? It says I don't have a SIM card! Absolutely appalling and an absolute scam.
The cell service sucks and I bought a phone from straight talk that was new off the shelf at Walmart and it won't read any Sims card I had called them about the on going issue with the phone and the kept tell me to take the Sims card out and put back in the phone so did about 20 times and also restarted the phone and still did not read the Sims card after all the then I called them again and they told me my Sims card was expired and I had to buy a new one so bought a new sims cardand I called them again to set it up and it still will not read the Sims card and the worst customer service ever as they hung up the two times as I was trying to resolve the issue with the phone I would not recommend straight talk as a good cellphone carrier I'm switching soon
For a business that sells phones and service you would think they would have some good ways to get in cantact and service with them when you don't have a phone especially when you have a problem with your service and they are your service provider in stead there is only one link and they can never do anything you need andvwhe you say you don't have a phone or way to get a call they tell you that you have to talk to a different department and give you a phone number. $#*!ing unreal stupidly. I have tried to order a phone that has been undelivered for 4 months I needed to have it for the network update and then my phone finally didn't work because of the network update and I haven't had service for 2 months I have tried to get online help spending over 100 hours in 4 months and another 25 hours on the phone I have spent 11 hours a day and not able to get the problem resolved and when you call back or a agent that is willing to transfer you you have to start everything over like the last 11 hours the day before for the 100 you already spent telling someone the issue never happened. And no matter who you talk to they always tell you something different and it's something they can't check in a different department and will just keep passing you off until they close and you start all over again the next day. It's pointless if you can spend the whole day and not resolve the issue and have to start over the next day at the beginning. It's bull$#*!
Bought service at Walmart. Couldn't get it to work. After 3 phone calls and 3 hours spent talking to support, they couldn't get it to work either. We requested a refund. We never received it.
Paid for 15 gig Hotspot, watched 1 movie and gone. Called customer service, was told my tv uses data diffently and I was out of data. Asked for supervisor and was told no, I was out of data.
Answer: Cheaper than ATT for a landline. I never thought of the problems I am having trying to get service started. I don't know how they stay in business considering the gift fact that Verizon owns them.
Answer: I've been pretty consistently able to get a hold of them. As far as them being helpful not at all.
