I placed an order for my children's costumes on September 19, I received an e-mail the following day indicating they had shipped. When trying to track the parcel, the tracking information was only indicating the electronic shipping information was provided. Here we sit, October 27th and the costumes have still not arrived. I ended up making a eight hour round trip to my nearest location to repurchase costumes. Here I am, over $400 in on this…With many calls going unanswered and e-mail not returned I FINALLY managed to get through to someone through the livechat, the person indicated that if the parcel eventually arrives I can refuse it and have it sent. My worry is that if I refuse to accept the parcel, will they not actually refund my money. This of course being purchased online from an American company needing to be shipped to Canada, as to the price difference was for currency exchange.
Once again Randa( south common edmonton location) helped my son with his halloween project! She always goes above and beyond for us. She is always so knowledgeable and helpful! Randa, you are the reason why we return to spirit halloween every year!

People and buyers beware! This store employs racists and psychos that belong on the streets and far away from any form of customer service. Their products are always late, they profile people based on ethnic background, and furthermore when the product arrives all I see are pieces missing within their product.
Every employee except for one guy with fancy rings was absolutely horrible. They were rude and never even apologized for a mistake THEY had made. Costume didn't fit even though it said one size fits all. They had told me I had to buy it and take it home to try it on but that I could just bring it back and return it and so I went in to do a return a few days later and they refused to give me my money back. Even the managers were completely disrespectful. I've never in my life had such horrible customer service and I work in the food industry! Do Not Buy Here. Barely anything and the kids costumes weren't that great either.
Waited a week for 2 items that was supposed to shop express shipping and be there in 1 to 2 days. Called customer service and was assured that the items were in stock and would be shipped. 1 of the items finally arrived and was cheaply made and damaged\not made correctly\was dirty. The next day I received an email saying that they cancelled the order for the other because it was not "in stock." They also charged me full price on the item that shipped and not 25 percent off the promo code that I had put in.The item that was cancelled had also supposedly been in stock in the online several days after I ordered it as well. Ironically for all my issues I was given a 20% off coupon for 1 item. Never again!
Impossible to get into contact with an actual human to resolve issues with online orders not arriving.
Also there's the issue of an item for an order placed a month ago not shipping even though all of the other items in the order have arrived.

A terrible shopping experience. On the October 29th, I went to buy costume for my child. My child didn't like it. So I decided to take my daughter to change it in half an hour. The manager of the store actually told me that I could not return it or exchange it. I asked the cashier why he hadn't given me any information. The manager's explanation was written on the receipt. This means that once the receipt is printed, it cannot be returned and exchanged, and the consumer is not aware of the situation. Oh, my Goddess, Never before. If the final sale of any store has the obligation to tell consumers not to return. I'd like to ask Spirit Store is this overlord clause? Is it hidden consumption?! I can't believe this is happening in Canada. It's terrible!

To those complaining about being SO SHOCKED that rules and policies apply to them... Let me reiterate what is on your own damn receipt. You have almost 2 months to shop with full returns. So many Halloween parties close to Halloween so of course there is a return limit date. It doesnt take rocket science to figure out why. Shop earlier next time. It's not our faults as cashiers. We follow policies given. Even if you weren't being so rude to us that we dont want to help you in the first place, we cant anyways. Our computer system doesnt allow it. Even managers cant. You're throwing tantrums at the wrong people.
I ordered an animotronic from them and three weeks later it hasnt arrived. I have left multiple emails and voice mails but no one every answers. Its going to be great to get a scary halloween decoration after halloween. Christmas will look nice with a frightening clown to bring in the holiday cheer. Furthermore, the quality on these are terrible. They usually break within a couple of weeks. I would avoid them at all costs if possible

I regret not reading the reviews before purchasing from their website. Ordered a costume from them but when it arrived the fit was just terrible- too small even though I had followed their size chart. The skirt also looked awkward and different from the photos. I was told that I wouldn't be refunded shipping and that I'd have to pay return shipping as well. WTF?! So you're telling me I have to pay for something that was your mistake? I've had no problems doing returns with other companies
AVOID this company at all costs, buy your costume/cosplay needs literally anywhere else but them
I was out shopping on the 29th (today) with my dad for a killer clown costume, I got it, for 75$ we later fount out there was a much better quality cheaper costume in hot topic, we went back asked a return and the people flat out were like *chewing gum pops looking at phone* no sorry so then we looked on the website only exchanges after the 18th this is ridiculous returns should be offered at all times not for part of the month
I pre-ordered the Hocus Pocus Pop Vinyls over a month ago. Today, I received an email saying my order had been cancelled per my request. Upon emailing customer service, they claim the payment could not be processed and they cancelled the order. Advise customer service that there was more than enough funds to cover the $40 order and there were no attempted charges on my account. They said I would have to place a brand new order and wait even longer, but offered 20% off. I should have it by 10/31 they said. I ordered 7/13. I could make my own Pops by the time they get here. Over 3 months for an order is atrocious. Of course I reordered, because it's a gift. Not happy at all.
I ordered a wireless Multi-Prop remote control. I received it in good order and fast. I went to test it and soon found out that the batteries it came with were dead. I figured before I sent it back to Spirit for a refund or return, I would simply go buy some batteries to see if the unit would work. It did! I called customer service to explain the situation and they quickly and happily covered the cost of the replacement batteries. I appreciate the very prompt service from the Spirit Halloween representative. A very satisfied customer here!

The 25-year-old manager they have running the place at Brazos Mall was rude and will not let you try on the costume stated take them home try them on then bring them back if they don't fit... so what's the point of that?... And it does State online come in Try on your costumes in the fitting rooms... they're liars..
This business is beyond bad. I ordered $300 worth of costumes on October 11th. For over a week we got shipping details with a delivery date which got pushed back every day by one day. Finally, when the package still had not arrived after 2 weeks, we called and were told the package was damaged and sent back to sender. We told them to never mind about the fog machine and other stuff, just send us the 3 costumes and any accessories they could. They agreed and promised to have the package to us by Saturday October 29th. The day before we are informed that one of the costumes is out of stock. We explained that we just want the original costume that was shipped. Very unsympathetically the woman says "well I could email the warehouse, but by the time they find it we can't get it to you in time for Halloween." And that was it. She clearly could care less, just like the other 3 or 4 customer service people we spoke to over the past week. I would NEVER order anything from this company again
I strongly advise against shopping at this store!I recently purchased a 6ft Zombie Fog Animatronic from this store, and the experience has been nothing short of disappointing. Upon receiving the product, I discovered that a crucial part was missing. Despite my numerous attempts to contact the store and address the issue, they have failed to take any corrective action. The lack of response and unwillingness to facilitate a return process reflects poorly on their customer service. At this point, I'm left with a defective product and a sense of frustration. I strongly advise others to steer clear of this store and explore alternative options for their purchases.

I had ordered a $50 costume and it had charged me 4 different times. I went into the store and was told to call the customer service number. I was on hold for 50 minutes listening to the same violin music over and over. I literally felt like Daryl Dixon in the Easy Street episode. Once I had been on the phone for 50 minutes, I was told to leave a voice-mail and someone would get back to me. They never got back to me. I'm yet again on hold for 20 minutes and no one has responded..

I ordered literally almost 2 months ago and nobody not even a tracking number yet on my daughters costume and they told me the other day it should definitely have shipped. Well the guest services said it hasn't. I'm so pissed off and I hate complaining but this is the worst service ever. I wasn't even going to get that on time and I'm pretty sure they weren't going to tell me! One mad momma.
I will never but from SH again! After buying 4 childrens costumes for over $100 two days before Halloween, I have already had 2 of them rip and my kids haven't even had them on for 15 minutes. Then you can't return anything if it's after October 20th... no wonder why they do that. They know their costumes are crap and you're most likely not going to be wearing them until Oct. 31st or a few days before. You pay WAY TOO MUCH money for those costumes to just fall apart. I should've went to Wal-Mart like I usually do!
Do not shop here. Horrible customer service. Not helpful and very rude. Do not order online. Items will take a long time getting to you. Customer service does not keep you updated on changes. Items stated in their site that are in stock are not. I learned that the hard way. Customer service does not care about the customers. Will never shop here again or Spencer's. I emailed customer service 3 times and never got a response.
