“I am the owner of the business Spiral Scripts, I make...”

I am the owner of the business Spiral Scripts, I make that clear. I am forced to adopt the unusual practice of reviewing my own business (openly anyway) because this site offers very little in the way of right to reply for businesses, unless you pay for their 'premium services', something that I object to. This review is a response to the extremely unfair review from the gentleman below. We are a small business, and have been in business since 2008 and have dealt I would guess with thousands of customers. Most people are a pleasure to deal with. In the rare occasions where they do have a problem with our software we work with our customers to resolve their difficulties, often even when the problem is not actual a fault with our software. As a result, requests for a refund are rare. However, if a customer has a genuine reason for a refund we do give it, our refunds policy is explained clearly on our site. However it is an unfortunate fact of doing business on the internet that occasionally people will try and use the threat of a bad review to extort money back even when they know that they are not entitled. We have a zero tolerance to this, we do not give in to threats and bullying. From his first contact with us, this customer's attitude was rude, bullying and abusive. I picked up the phone one morning to hear him shouting insults at me. I tried to explain reasonably how to use our software but he paid no attention to what I was saying. Eventually I put the phone down, there was no point in continuing the conversation. However I did send him a polite email explaining where he could read the documentation for our software, and offering him further assistance if he required it. However he made it clear that he was not interested in behaving like a reasonable person, he just wanted something for nothing, with the threat of bad reviews if we did not comply. As I have said, we do not give in to threats. He is quite correct, we did threaten him with legal action, something that we are still considering. He does not seem to understand that the laws of defamation apply online. He is perfectly entitled to not like us and give a bad review, however he is not entitled to use his reviews to make up lies damaging to our business. An example is the ridiculous:- "And I hope this can only be a coincidence and nothing to do with you, but we also had multiple website hacking attempts and calls from a whitheld number that hangs up when the phone is answered. Scary stuff :(" Of course we had nothing whatsoever to do with this. Really we have better things to do, and the last thing that I would want to do is to hear his voice again. I think that the fact that he even says this reveals a lot about the kind of person that he is. It is probably the kind of thing that he does, we do not. Moreover this person does not have the right to use bad reviews to get money, that is called extortion, and is illegal. You will note that the actual substance of this customer's complaint is the fact that you have to read the instructions in order to use our software. That's how it works. Thousands of people do so successfully. The rest is a gross distortion of what actually happened.

“Stay away from this company”

Stay away from this company I have purchased a script from this company and about 1 hour later, I was advised by Google that using the script results in all sorts of errors,. Nearly 100 errors, Google support then provided me with a simpler way to achieve the same results without the need of the messy script from spiralscripts.co.uk. I then emailed spiral scripts.co.uk requesting cancellation, they have never replied to my email. I called them, and the unfriendly lady on the phone said google don't know anything, my reply to her was "Of course they know what they are talking about", she then simply hang up on me. I emailed the company again, they replied with a rude and unprofessional message. To make things worst, I went to Facebook and wrote a review on their page, they disabled the reviews section!. This is supposed to be a large company combining software development (spiralscripts.co.uk) and "web design" at (www.iswebdesign.co.uk). Those are the methods of someone wanting to hide things, methods of a doggy, unfriendly and unethical business. Hope this will help future users in deciding where they want to spend their hard earned money. STAY AWAY!___________REPLY TO FIONA COULTER AT SPIRALSCRIPTS__________________ My review of your business following my customer experience, is true and accurate, any of your future customers will surely make their own decision. But I felt the need to share my experience. I bought software from many many companies world-wide, and never had a similar disappointing experience, your script was £25, who in their right mind would waste all this time which I have wasted just to get a free service worth lunch money, ridiculous! Plus you could also as a developer use a code to signal any usage of your software so you would then know if I was trying to get it for free, instead of you accusing my honesty and integrity. In my case your script did not work and most of google errors were a result of using your script, despite you denigrating google and saying they don't know what they are talking about, the feed was done using the google technique without any errors whatsoever, …and this is FREE just like google intended this service to be. Sure it may have been a lengthier process hence why your script was purchased as advertised, but it's free and no need to read endless pages of instructions and whatnot. If anyone was abusive during this whole time, then it is you, when I contacted you on the phone you hang up on me not because I was abusive, but because I defended google when you said they were useless and insisted that they surely know better and that in the end the product feed to google was their creation not yours! My first review was published on your Facebook page, sadly you have deactivated the review system on your page minutes after I published my review… When I contacted you and outlined your weird and unexplained business practice, you replied with a simple email containing two words "GROW UP"…. When it comes to protecting your sale, you make yourself and your company sound big, when it comes to problem solving you suddenly are a very small business based in bath…as you say. You have recently sent me threats and bullying emails of things you intend to do if I didn't delete my review on site jabber… And I hope this can only be a coincidence and nothing to do with you, but we also had multiple website hacking attempts and calls from a whitheld number that hangs up when the phone is answered. Scary stuff:( I have yet to publish all the emails we exchanged and show potential customers what to expect from you if things go wrong.

My first review was published on your Facebook page, sadly you have deactivated the review system on your page minutes after I published my review…

Fiona C. – Spiral Scripts Rep

The script in question is designed to submit a product feed to Google shopping. It is up to you as the user to supply the correct information for the feed, if you do not then Google will reject your feed with a lot of error messages. It is not an issue with the software but with the information that you provide. I tried to explain this to you both on the telephone and by email but you did not want to listen. We take our customer support very seriously and try to assist users with this, we have written several articles that explain the issues involved in successfully submitting a product feed, for example https://www.spiralscripts.co.uk/FAQ/how-to-get-your-product-feed-accepted-by-google.html. If you cannot be bothered to try to use our software correctly then this does not entitle you to a refund. Unfortunately it is clear that you were simply determined to get something for nothing, and quickly became abusive when we made it clear that you were not going to get it. Lastly, I do not know where you got the completely bonkers idea that we are pretending to be a large multinational company. We are multinational in the sense that our customers do come from around the world, but that is probably true of most web development companies. But we are not a large corporation, have never pretended to be, on the contrary we are a small business based in Bath. I think you should seriously consider the ethics of your behaviour in setting out to damage the reputation of a small business for what appears to be no other reason than personal spite.
