Teh soundcloud app accompanies me wherever I go, also in car via the bluetooth function. The only problem is that the app crashes from time to time on any device, I dont know why and would be great if that thing was fixed!
Their top 50 use to be featuring the artists who reaches the most plays and gets the most notice but not anymore, I don't know who they've got deciding who gets to be in the top 50 and sponsored as well but it's definitely not a fair system based on who's deserving the attention the most. Their curators must be deaf or something or maybe they just don't really care that much about music.
Misleading. Signed up to listen to a podcast. Whenever I needed to pause the podcast it started from the beginning each time, not very functionally usable.
Signed up for an initial free trial. When I went online to cancel it has been very difficult, time-consuming and at this moment is not been resolved.
For a website that is used pretty much universally, to say their service is awful would be an understatement. You can't contact them; they never reply when you email and they aren't interested in anything other than taking your money. I've written to them 20 times and had not one single reply. In the end, I had to raise cases with PayPal to get my account cancelled and even then they refused to speak with PayPal or myself. There are plenty of other file sharing platforms out there who offer much better customer interaction. I would encourage you to look for these, rather than perpetuating and reinforcing this terrible customer service platform.
First they upload your music to some other artist's profile. Even when you tell it to create a new profile. Then you try to get in contact with support. Then you find that they have no live chat, no phone number, just a email ticketing system that is devoid of response. Some of the worst customer support I've seen besides maybe cash app or Amazon. Just avoid these guys at all cost and do not give them a dime of your hard earned money.
Your followers, just your followers (not the whole soundcloud community) do not get a chance to hear your new music. I have set up 3 different accounts at different times with different music, its always the same. Your followers do not represent your plays not likes just listens. Strange. I predicate that unless a new buyer takes over within the next five years soundcloud will join myspace in the realm of what was with netscape in deep woulda coulda shoulda conversations. Rotate the music, stop promoting the known and famous. It may not be like that but it looks and sounds like that.
I canceled my subscription because their music is very limited. I spent hours and hours creating a playlist and overnight it was completely gone. There is no contact info, instead they send you on a wild goose chase continuously revisiting the same unhelpful pages.
I love their mobile app, very easy to work with. However, this service is for amateur and beginner artists (as already mentioned), there are no popular artists out there. A good chance for those who want to share their work, but not a good place to look for top-quality bands.
I used to be an avid user of SoundCloud. It was nice getting to listen to more low-key music on there but it's just out of date when it comes to Spotify. Spotify's streaming services are entirely smoother and their algorithms on their radios/stations have added so much more music to my playlists.
Soundcloud also froze my account about a week ago for unforeseen reasons which was the cherry on top for me. It was a nice trip SoundCloud.
Not user friendly or impressed by it! I've been using Pandora for a while and i see no difference give or take a few songs on both apps they all have same features i also used Soundcloud on my Serato dj and its a mission to download songs to your computer then to the dj set. The streaming part is okay but the history disappears I'll keep Pandora for now and just keep downloading songs from different sources for my dj set. One more thing canceling subscription was a mission to had to YouTube it that's bad!
Soundcloud is a music streaming service where you can listen to music you've uploaded or music that you've discovered. It's a great music discovery platform and one of the most popular sites for free music. I like it because you can find all the genres there and young creators who make astonishing music but are not that popular yet. I have Spotify too, but I use Soundcloud more often.
Considering that I have tons of music apps it is very difficult to write this review when I keep comparing it with the others. I really like it but sometimes I wish it would come up with some favs suggestions like pandora even though pandora doesn't let you find your own which is a big minus from soundccloud.
Low value for artists with needing to pay to even monetise your music and with a max upload time of 180 minutes before paying, terribly low royalty rates per view, infested with bots/promo ad accounts, site works great for listeners on the functional end though. So it might not be worth using as an artist, I still use it but I only just about break even with over 500 monetised views a day on a channel. Best bet in my view is to mainly focus on distribution through DistroKid or something and YouTube manual uploading for more value. Yes I understand it's their website and they can chose to do what they want, but there has been a lot of bad decisions of late.
I`ve enjoyed reverbnation/myspace for several years, but I must say for me Soundcloud is the number 1 music website now. It`s a great site with an awesome layout where you can show/promote and share your music to the rest of the world. But it is also easily build up for listeners who just wants to discover and listen to new aspiring artists.
I have previously used other streaming programs and have found SoundCloud really easy to use. I love that when you follow an artist it has tracks and sets from them making it really easy to just press play without going to the trouble of creating a playlist. Would be amazing if we had unlimited data, sometimes it can take a while to load.
You can't simply expect more from a music app. From Jazz to Trance, it's all in there. The best thing about it is that it's absolutely free and I hope it will always be.
Only aspect that needs to be improved is more originals instead of remixes and covers.
Excellent for listening to new music from all over the world. Anyone can listen to the tracks, even without an account. Good place to find new artists that you otherwise might miss, especially newly started or indie artists that have few other ways of promoting themselves.
Sticking to this service since the first time I was introduced to it - loads of great music available for free. It does not have all the genres, but for instance my favourite Techno is always there with various performers and types of style. Great!
The best way to get your music heard (especially for free). Or at least a great starting point. Other sites like "reverbnation" or "bandcamp" just don't seem to have the volume that SC does. Although those sites have their own specialties, SC is at the top of the music streaming game. I prefer it over those and spotify because it is the easiest way to find other underground artists and form relationships that both parties can benefit from.
I absolutely love soundcloud. It is the best music website of our time. Uploading songs are painless. You can share music publicly or keep it private. The coolest feature is that when you listen to a song you see the wavelengths of the entire song. Users can click on exact seconds of the song and make comments. As the song plays the comments will pop up as the time elapses them. Very cool and constructive for people who create music.
