“I had a good experience”

Pat M.
7/2/22

I gave this a shot bc my friend referred me. I had a wonderful experience selling my house with great customer service. Trustpilot and Google Reviews are all 4-5 stars and I had the same 4-5 star experience. I felt compelled to share bc this review website seems to just show disgruntled agents who probably are not agents used by the company. My experience is they only work with the best agents so I imagine not all agents are happy depending on how good they are.

“Leads are a scam! Dont do it!”

Christine H.
11/6/22

I started in January 2022 thinking I could handle a few more leads. Even one lead would pay for itself. I asked for a refund because all the leads said they never signed up for selling their house and to take me off their call list. One kind woman said she fills out surveys and this sort of thing happens because her surveys get sold and that is how you get the lead. These leads are NOT interested in selling! Not one deal or positive call. I was not given any sort of help or refund! Dont do it!

Do not Use this Vendor - engaged this company as a lender. Paid $300 as they promised several leads a month for 6 months. I received 2 leads and no call backs or responses to reach out on these leads. Sold.com customer service called me and asked about re-upping. I asked the SOLD.com rep if they though this was a good investment and a good value? The rep said "yes, of course" and blamed it on me for choosing a low producing County of "only" 75,000+ people. I would NEVER use this company again.

I made the mistake of signing up as a "featured agent" for Sold.com a few months ago. It has been a horrendous experience. The "leads" promised are dead. They are not home sellers. They are people whose home is already for sale and they are just trying to check the value of their home or they are just wondering and dont' want agents to bother them. Sold.com's web site it riddled with misspellings, it's staff is scattered and service very poor. Run.

Hi Ryan - We just found this review site a few weeks ago and are trying to help anyone that has had a poor experience. I can confirm that the website typos and other items you address here have been resolved. As you know from other online platforms it is really hard qualifying a lead without talking to them, however, we have built our own internal lead scoring technology that among other things, checks public records to verify leads are real people and home owners. Regarding intent, we are all about helping consumers with education. We seek to connect consumers with industry partners when they are looking to educate themselves of home selling options, understand what their home is worth or looking to meet with a local pro to list their home. We ask the consumers if they are already listed with an agent and check MLS records for this as well. We have many happy customers (home sellers and agents) that have been successful using the platform but sorry to hear you had a poor experience. We would be happy to chat with you about this, please reach out to us directly 844-903-7653 (SOLD) or contact@sold.com.

I will not call a homeowner who is currently listed with another agent for many reasons. I will not lie to people to get their business as SOLD.com has coached me to say. I am not pushy, yet some numbers I have called have told me where to stick it, some have threatened me if I ever call again, some have lectured me how they are on the do not call list and some are not even the people on title. I have chatted with some who laugh at the questions they supposedly answered, SOLD.COM just tell me that these people are lying and they absolutely filled out something online. I am sorry, I can not believe that every single person I have chatted with or been yelled at by is lying. I have spoke with people who told me realtors were vultures and I could fight over her beloved home when she was dead. That is horrible and I do not need to be wasting my time and hard earned money on this type of abuse.

I have attached one of my 40 leads I received in the past 5 months. I have also included the email after I paid $1800 for 2 zip codes because they will not let you buy just 1 zip code.

Tip for consumers:
I am done and will continue to do real estate the old fashioned way, boots on ground.

Hi Debra - Sorry for the delay in responding. We rarely look at this site because we found that most of the reviews were from competitors and not real reviews. Unfortunately, this site does not provide your information so we cannot look up your account to dig into what happened or how we can help you...but we want to help! Please email us at agentnetwork@sold.com or call us at 844-355-7653 (SOLD). We never ask any agent to lie. I would like to learn exactly what happened so we can pull the call and write up any rep who told you that. We never tell agents to call homeowners who are listed with an agent, that is unethical. Same as above, I would like to learn more about what happened there. Since our website is available to all consumers you may get some leads who don't want to talk to you - it is a numbers game but the service does work.

Sales team will promise promise promise to make a sale... when it comes to the service it is sub par. The lead quality is absolute trash. They will not respond to your emails. Your agent success rep will not even look into your account or reach out regarding activity. They want 30% of your pie and don't provide any good data for you to make the investment worthwhile. Do yourself a favor and take these reviews to heart and do not invest into their services. Trash service and trash company that doesn't perform on their promises. DO NOT WASTE A DIME.

UPDATE 8/8/2023:

Continue with their platform until my contract expired and nothing changed. Same crappy leads. The "commitment" from the VP was, to me, just words. I emailed him a few times once new leads came in after our phone call and he never got back to me or even responded to my email DETAILING why these leads are bad which is what I put below for all to see.

INSULT TO INJURY - then I started to get phone calls from vendors like home inspectors and people to help fix up houses saying if some of the sold.com clients needed help getting the house ready that "THEY COULD HELP."

So, I asked how he got my number and he said sold.com gave it to him. He was buying the same leads and then also buying my, and other agents, information. So, thankfully I told him how bad it was and that now they have other vendors calling me. Oh, hell no. This is absolutely unacceptable. HARD PASS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.

UPDATE 3/6/2023:

SOLD.COM VP reached out and was very disappointed with how I was treated and not to mention the lead quality. I will say it was a very good conversation and I do believe he has "made things right" by me. I am continuing to get leads from them but I am not paying for them and so they are giving me the paid version for free. I am a high converter but I am not seeing much of a difference in the lead quality of leads right now. But If I had to sign up again I would certainly ask, "how can I get out of the contract or refunded if the leads are not good." Sound like they are a newer company and working thru the growing pains of creating good leads.

1/10/2023
I spent $3,000 in August with Sold.com. I was told I would get 15-20 ACTIVE leads and 15-20 PASSIVE leads. So far ZEROOOOOO active leads and a ton of passive leads WHO:

1) have no idea who sold.com is
2) not even homeowners
3) several just bought a home
4) had no idea how I got their number and hung up

Then I get THREE text messages over 4 months that, I guess we're the Active leads but they were "click to claim" when I was told I would get the clients info and one other agent. NOT CLICK TO CLAIM. This is a total scam.

This company is total BS! The last guy to call me basically said, "you just need to call them more" so aka I'm stupid and dumb.

I close 30-40 deals a year BECAUSE of my follow-up.

What a waste of time and energy!

Do not - and I mean DO NOT even partner with them for free. They are THAT BAD.

I have been calling on a lot of leads, and the amount of leads were promising. However after finally getting a hold of some of the people, I started noticing a pattern. They are all over 50 years old with most of them over 65, many of which do not use the internet and never gave their information. I've also had some leads come in here that are deceased and have been deceased since 2018... They're using some kind of farming I'm guessing to get these people but not verifying the details because dead people don't submit requests.

For the amount of money that was spent for this program. Thousands of dollars for nothing... Not a single lead turnover... And refusal to refund.

Take your money and go invest in someone else like realtor or Zillow at this point. Sold.com is ridiculous and it should be criminal what they're doing. I see theft by swindle stating that these people willingly put these requests in their website and are looking to connect with agents when in fact they have never heard of the site, they don't go on the internet, and all the effort put into getting this in place and following up for not a single sale.

Please do your due diligence and research companies before going with them.

Tip for consumers:
Their chat feature is often offline so you cannot get help or chat with anyone live.
They will not refund. The leads are not legitimate.

Terrible lead generation. Paid $2000 for 3 zip codes and received bogus leads. Worked the 24 leads I got for 6 months with zero real activity. At least half told me they were never thinking of selling, another 20% got mad and asked how I got their name. The concierge was pushy I was told and the one live appointment I actually got was a woman looking for a maid. I was done when I received a lead from a friend of mine and she certainly was not selling her home. Tried to talk to management for months with zero response. Finally spoke to someone with an attitude and nothing good to say. Absolutely awful company.

Update:
After months of waiting for someone to contact us for coaching and remaining hopeful that some leads would pan out, we had enough and demanded a refund. At first that was refused but then I got a call from the co-founder who was very helpful and we had a great conversation about the leads we received and he listened to my complaints. In the end, we received a full refund and were kept on the free program. So thought the leads didn't work out for us, at least the company cared enough to make things right. A lot of money for leads that have already been called 15-20 times or that have no idea why you're calling them.

Thanks for the feedback, Dan. We will take a look at your account and have your agent success rep reach out. Our concierge time does call each lead to attempt to qualify and generate appointments for you. You are right, some leads don't remember coming to SOLD.com...it is the nature of online platforms unfortunately. Sometimes consumers go to multiple websites. I am sure we can turn this around for you.

I am a new agent. Was promised to be one of two featured agents for the zip codes I bought. Doing investigative work that was not the case. Experienced high volume agents were visible. No one could see my profile. When I called I treated rudely and no one returns calls from there. This whole experience has been very shady.

I went to site wanting to SELL my home, the ad stated we BUY homes so put my information in got a call I asked do you buy home? Was to yes. Set up a consultation realtor came out gave me comps, when I asked how much will you buy my home for was told they do not buy home they just waned to list it for sale. If I wanted to list it I would have used my local realtor. Any realtor would give you a comp eval to hep you set a selling price. Waste of time.

Hi Mark - We can't pull up your account information from this review site as there is not enough info. Please call us at 844-355-7653 or email us at contact@sold.com. We would love to review your information and understand why the cash offer was not eligible in your case. We have lots of cash buyers in our network, however, there can be a number of factors why a home is not eligible for a cash offer. Things like year built, condition, location, potential rental income potential, etc. When we are unsure if the home is eligible for a cash offer, we send a local expert out to gather more details and provide a sense of what the home would be worth, like they did in this case. We would need to review the details of the account to fully understand what occurred here that didn't meet your expectations. We look forward to hearing from you to help you out!

I signed up with SOLD.com and 3 months later I have had NO closed leads what-so-ever. All the leads I get are people who have just bought the house, who no longer live in the house, state "How did you get my info", and the supposed meetings always fall through. Horrible customer service. DO NOT BUY! Run the opposite way. Zillow has proven more effective than SOLD.com.

To be honest I am very dissatisfied with this service. They will send someone to me with no regard for my schedule. I don't just sit around and wait for Sold.Com to contact me.

Secondly when I am able to make contact with a possible home seller without fail they will say one of the following.

1. I never filled anything out on line
2. I am just interested in a cash offer. (I have told SOLD.COM we don't do that but they seem to care?
3. I am not interested in selling

Try making contact with Sold.com. Good luck with that. I have made several calls and nobody actually picks up a phone and trust me nobody even returns a message.

Save your money..

While many who have followed my reviews know that I am not a big fan of groupon style sites as they are popping up all over the internet and creating just cheap bad deals, I am a fan of competition though. I love the URL sold.com and that should probably really help this company gain some traction. I am anxious to see how they do and they will probably start off with some really good deals initially... whether they can keep up the good deals when competing against groupon will remain to be seen. This is a dishonest company that profits off of deceitful tactics. They harvest information from people selling their home fsbo and sell false leads to realtors. My story: I'm currently selling my house through FSBO and they called me saying their executive or owner of their company was interested in buying my house and they needed my email so they can send me a offer (they got my other info off of Zillow). So far I haven't received any offers and only realtors calling me saying Sold.com referred me to you because you were interested in selling your house with us. So they harvest my contact information and sold it to realtors. They make profit off these realtors with false leads. Only use companies with good principles for your business because this company is surely lacking that.

Let me share my experience, and I typically do not publicly complain about companies or services. I am going to make an exception this one time. SOLD.com has been a HORRIBLE experiment. I signed up for their Guaranteed Display Agent program, and had to pay about $1200 in advance. Their business model is they run ads for homeowners looking to sell, and the homeowner fills in a webform with the info. That info is then forwarded onto agents who have paid for zip codes. The quantity of leads is fine, (Avg 3-4 per day). The quality is beyond horrible. I have called 300+ leads and not a single one was legit; never filled out a webform, don't own the house attached to the contact address, sold the house over a year ago, etc. It gets worse. They have a Concierge team who calls these leads as well, and if a lead wants to set up a listing appt, they will text all agents in that zip. In 3 months, I have had 6 such occurrences. I claimed all 6, and that was verified. 3 of them were assigned to a different agent within a few minutes, and the other 3 were already listed on the MLS. I have called Customer Service multiple times in an attempt to better learn how they work, ask some questions, and overall just try to have someone talk me through the process. EVERY call has been answered by a customer service rep who told me that it's not their department and so-and-so will have to call me back. 10 calls, all the same answer. Not a single return phone call. I have now called 5 more times this week to cancel and the "cancellation department will not call me back. Bad experience, great concept.

Been a Realtor in Orlando since 1989 and this is the biggest scam for lead generation I have ever come across. For $1,740 they send address of Hotels, Motels, Apartment buildings owned by corporations that the names provided are not agents of the corp. Other leads provided with names once researched thru the appraiser's office are not the owners. Other leads called have obviously been called before by other agents as they angrily tell me to quit calling them. I have fled a formal complaint with atty general's office and will be meeting with my atty next week to file a civil suit and possibly a class action suit. Anyone else who has been scammed by Sold.com. And wishes to join the class action suit. Please leave your story here.
