You could basically just believe the opposite of everything they say, and you'd be better off. They often respond to new inquiries so quickly that there is no way they actually did any research. Snopes is just a completely biased propaganda parrot.

Lost All Credibility
February 4, 2022

Snopes may once have been considered a somewhat reliable 'fact checking' site for those interested in learning the truth in a sea of media bias, however by 2022 has become nothing more than any other mainstream media site pumping out the mainstream approved narratives and vehemently condemning any one who wishes to have an open discussion on current and past political, social, social and historical items as an 'evil conspiracy theorist spreading disinformation.' Time and time again it ignores clear inconsistency's and facts in favor of gatekeeping mainstream 'truth' even as the truth changes to accommodate the new narratives.

Snopes is fake
February 8, 2020

Snopes claims to be a fact checking site. This is false.
I would trust Snopes to confirm or deny an urban legend. Beyond that, they are wroght with opinions and outright lies. All in all, a terrible fact checking site.
Something that would give them a smidgen of credibility is if people were able to comment on and rate their 'fact-checking,' but unfortunately they don't allow any outside input. It's either their opinion or nothing.

Headline says it all. The "owner" left his wife for his side piece; now they're all fighting for control of the service. How does a two person team have time to effectively do this MUCH research and this quickly? THEY DON'T. It's clearly deep state (CIA) owned & operated.

I used to fact check with this biased tool until I found out they were hiding or twisting facts that I knew were true. Shame on them for misguiding the public and causing so much damage to free speech. I hope someone bigger could stop them from censoring different opinions. They are fake. They lie and twist the truth. They censor others opinions.

I read a snopes review from a court case where a whistle blower states that the deaths from the Covid Vaccine was incorrect. She filed a statement under penalty of perjury. Snopes said they reviewed the lawyer and the woman and dont believe its legit. The hilarious thing is that the court case has not begun. They have Nothing to go by. However instead of being honest and saying the "verdict" is out still and we dont know, they said it was a false claim.
Its 100% not reliable.

Wilfully Ignorant
August 19, 2019

The workers at Snopes seem to be lacking the mental capacity to understand satire and the place of satire in our time. Using their position to bully people they disagree with, Snopes continues to show they are not reliable-and haven't been for some time.

Snopes is a leftist propaganda tool. Do not use, ever. Most recent example is the attack by Antifa thugs on Rep. Mace's home. Snopes stated it was a rumor however there's an active investigation for that attack and other similar in her neighborhood. Do not use Snopes as they lie, and skew the facts to fit their political ideology. In other words, they are FAKE.

Lame Stream Media
September 6, 2019

Lame Stream Media controlled! Try and find the real "truth". You are hurting this country by only reporting what your investors are wanting censored. Anybody ever wonder why the "Home Alone" kid went completely off the rails for a number of years? Anybody ever wonder why Hollywood and the Global elite are so hell bent on getting rid of Trump? Anybody ever wonder why Epstein was allowed to own an Island that was dedicated to the apetite of this global satanic network of pedophiles?

Not only has snopes.com proved to be accurate time and again re: email hoaxes, I have recently discovered it holds true for text msg hoaxes as well. While no site is perfect, this is a great starting point for researching these "warnings" before you pass them on...

One to keep on your bookmark list – when I get an urgent appeal to forward this email virus warning to all my friends / heartbreaking charity appeal / miraculous occurrence / evidence of mass government conspiracy / piece of news that is unusual / scandalous / embarrassing to the subject it is usually worth a couple of seconds checking the story on http://www.snopes.com/ the best urban legend myth buster on the internet. It also helps in flagging the true stories – which virus warnings you should be paying attention to… And if you're bored, a quick surf on snopes will always bring up some bizarre story to amuse you.

Lots of good info; they seem to have the largest collection of internet hoaxes of any site I've seen. It's just too bad it's so heavily loaded with advertisements; I'd recommend using an ad blocking extension.

This has got to be the number one best pass time site, ever! I love reading the daily odd news and just picking a category each day to rummage through. I think I learned more from snopes than from 4 years of high school, lol.

Unbelievable
July 2, 2019

That's what Snopes "fact checks" are. They have a hidden agenda that isn't so hidden when you start checking the 'fact checker'. I believe when they first started, they were actually unbiased. But times have changed. They were likely seduced by big money from somewhere.
All I can say is, "If you believe anything Snopes offers up as 'fact', then I have this great bridge I'd like to sell you... CHEAP! On sale now. Gorgeous orange. Call now, such a deal!
Snopes. Pathetic site.

I recently checked some things on Snopes just to see if they were biased and I was amazed. I had heard that they were/or became so. Maybe they dont mean to but what they should do is present facts only and they instead impart opinion leaving out facts.
Example -- re the recent "ransom" matter with Iran -- they put that it was "false" that they paid ransom noting what Obama admin was saying. I think a lot of people would disagree this conclusion. They should simply put the facts (including new data from released hostage) and let people decide themselves --- not what a site like this should be doing! If you simply want someone to side with you on the democratic/liberal side then this is a site for you!

Snopes used to be the go-to website to debunk the various urban legends that run around the internet like mosquitoes in August. It is still somewhat passable for non-political myths. When it comes to politics, it's biased - it ignores many true conservative "myths", ostensibly to avoid having to declare them true. It rates as false many inconclusive issues. It's actually very sad.

I used to be able to use Snopes as a cross-reference when checking facts. However I have noticed that some of the "facts' that snopes has presented are absolutely inaccurate. What gives? After reviewing several comments posted by Snopes I agree that their opinions or facts are very biased! The rating of one is for spelling words correctly.

Snopes is a fake "fact finding" website that has no tolerance for facts that oppose or debunks their agenda and/or opinion, thus they label all opposing facts as "fake news"

First of all, how are they suppose to be the end-all be-all central information source for things typically controversial or hearsay or "conspiracy theory", when the truth is likely that we just don't know the truth in many of these cases. The final straw came the other day when I looked up something knowing that it was inconclusive (but deemed as a big fat FALSE by snopes), and I could no longer ignore how this site is simply incapable of leaving their own personal bias out of these topics. This wasn't the first time I had noticed this. The fact that they throw around the term conspiracy (in any ideas going against the mainstream media) in the grade-school manner that they do, proves that they are not fit to be keepers of the truth. How about call it what it is- it's a personal opinion blog with a little research occasionally thrown in.

Mixing truth with lies just like crafty devils! The truth comes with the things that are unimportant and irrelevant to your lives, manipulating the unaware niave souls that stumble upon their influence into believing that they are a legitimate and trustworthy source and steer those same people the wrong direction when it comes to issues and rumors that matter. That's where they spin their lies like bosses of deception. If you like your b. S. sugar-coated by all means grab a big helping of Snopes.com. Soros money has a big part to play in this snake oil source. "Fact checkers" of fake news are they? Snopes is fake new. They're right there with CNN and the rest. Boycott and rebuke their misinformation campaign. When you hear someone refer to Snopes then shout FAKE NEWS.
