The title is enough, thanks! With more words under if needed :D The agent assisting me was very patient, and I appreciate that. I'm already familiar with how luggage typically works with the tickets I book, but since it wasn't clearly included this time, I wanted to double-check. If you're looking to improve the customer experience, my suggestion would be to clearly include luggage details during the ticket purchase process. It would save time and avoid confusion.
My flight to Israel is scheduled for tomorrow. Today Israel attacked Iran and the airport is closed indefinitely. Obviously I can't fly to Israel tomorrow. I didn't get any info about my flight status. Is it canceled? Is it rerouted? No idea. This is a disgrace, and the first time something like this happened to me. If I could I would give a negative number of stars. Don't use this booking site! This is an update written more than a month after the previous review (Aug 11 2025). I was contacted by a smartfares representative after posting my review. The rep asked me to update my review and promised to get a refund for my cancelled flight from the airline. They eventually notified me (on July 10th) that the airline granted the refund and that I'll receive it in 7-14 business days. I didn't not receive the refund, was not contacted by smartfares again and their representative is unreachable. I AM updating my review, as asked. Please stay away from this booking site!

I was disappointed after seeing the initial amount I was supposed to pay in Canadian dollars different from what Im actually paying according to my credit card statement since after paying the amount on your site it was oddly changed to US dollars. I wanted to pay what I thought I was supposed to be paying in the beginning.

The purchase process was successful. I received the email with the reservation confirmation and the correct codes for the three tickets purchased from the airline.
However, 15 minutes after completing the purchase, I received four calls from Smart Fares on *******640, telling me that I had entered only one passenger's last name and that an additional process costing more than $300 per ticket was required to add the missing last name. I explained that the information I had entered was what was required by the form, that no additional information was requested, and that it seemed like an abuse to try to confuse the user by charging them an extra fee. On the next call, they offered me a $150 discount for correcting each ticket. I reiterated that this was an abuse.
The calls were on Monday, June 2 at 11:52 p.m. GMT -3 and on Tuesday, June 3 at 12:25 a.m. GMT -3
I ask that you give me an appropriate response to this abusive behavior, which borders on fraud, or I will be forced to file a complaint on the purchasing portal, with the airline, or with the appropriate authorities.

When I received the first email of my booking the ticket was described as "Economy" in Westjet, I was aware that economy class in Westjet -carry on bag is included, the reason that I go for the deal. Then, surprisingly when smartfares booked the ticket and sent the confirmation booking the ticket turns out to be "ultrabasic" which means I need to pay extra for carry-on, that's an extra $200 for both of us me and my husband. That was not a good experience for a first time customer, I will not book again my trip with smartfares.

L received quick feedback from customer service as they were so helpful and it has been a pleasure getting assistance from them. However there was an issue with additional charges that l encountered ontop of the fee that l was supposed to pay for the ticket in relation to airline fee changes which was not updated on the site which led to the cost of ticket become more costly.

Answer: Smartfares! They will offer a deeply discounted airfare and send you a confirmation number to your email. The next day you will receive an email to call them immediately because they were unable to confirm your flight. When you call them back, they will try to sell you another flight at a much higher price. SCAM SCAM AVOID!
