I love that a lot of my favorite designers and photographers are sharing classes on Skillshare. So i installed the android app and i was offered a 30 day free trial. Cool. It also said that i would be charged Rs. 6400/- (98 USD) for a year after the trial was up. Quite pricey, but that's okay too. I would just cancel before my time was up. Now, a few days later, i wanted to watch a few classes on a desktop. On the website, it said 0.99USD for 2 months. And when i clicked on it, it asked me to sign up for a year for Rs. 2,988. (46 USD) That's half the price I'm being charged by the Play Store. That's really not cool, Google!
Content and challenges are really good. It takes good amount of time
To learn and then implement in the project.
Make sure you have good background on subject before getting in to
Specific topics, take the free classes before taking a membership.
Very good content if you have use case in mind, after the learning you
Can connect the dots.
I was looking for quality information on building responsive websites so I decided to give Skillshare a try. They delivered everything that they promised and everything that I expected. Straight to the point content and quizzes and code challenges made my learning very effective. I thoroughly enjoyed the process.
Skillshare.com training videos are really easy to understand. The
Trainers have done an excellent job to walk us through the courses.
Their English is easy to understand.
Skillshare is best for learning new technologies and tools. It helps
With reviewing information easily and gets a hands on training to the
Users.
Skillshare.com is one of best platforms for learning purposes.
I love SkillShare because it has a variety of learning methods. A course is thorough, with additional materials, community help, videos, and interaction. I learn best reading versus listening, so having a transcript to follow along with is a huge help.
I have had many benefits from personal to work, I have done courses
Of personal motivation and techniques to grow my business or to
Embark on new paths, trusting my potential.
I am very happy with this application, thanks to them they gave me
The opportunity to use this incredible application for a month for
Free.
Best instructors, every week I can do one course and already I think
To start the third.
Skillshare had opened up my mind and the possibilities to learn and accomplish my dreams, thank you. The best benefit is that it's a suite of courses available to you from the day you sign up so there's no need to pay for individual courses as on other platforms.
I have been really enjoying content that this website offered to me for free in last three months. But it was really terrible morning today, when, without any noticing that free trial is in the end, skillshare charged me 96. This is how pro-customer service would look like in your opinion? I am a student and I really cannot afford it now. A lot of my friends started to use this service by my advice, i was decided to buy premium account in the future, when i would have some income, but now i am feeling like trapped in some kind of bad dream, instead of enjoying great opportunities that this website could offer me. Be careful of billing date, becuase it feels like a scam on customer, instead of a great space for "skillsharing".
They dont care about your privacy
They will use every email they can scrape from the web and spam you with $#*!ing pay your 96$ subscription even though you're not a customer
They dont give a $#*! if you dont like email you receive because they will send it more! Megan Burt is pretty consistent about it
Scam that likes to spam your inbox in any way possible
I believe in open education platform, and know that this requires money to function. But if I cancel my account, I should expect that my account is cancelled, that I don't discover that my account has been over drawn while I'm trying to buy groceries for the week. Just like most others here, I'm quite disappointed. I DO NOT recommend this service only on the basis of their shadey billing practices.
EDIT: Skill share did refund my money back within a few days, and we're helpful with that process. I personally don't recommend them to anyone with to access to YouTube and wikipedia, with a self drive to learn. Otherwise they might be useful for you.
I've been using Skillshare since late 2016 and I love it. I have a full-time job and a family so I don't have a lot of time to muddle through half-baked resources. Skillshare has awesome content that is easy to dig into. It's self-paced so I can learn when I have time and come back to it after I've been busy. Also, the technology they teach and the tech used to build the site are cutting edge.
Learning on Skillshare is truly a lot of fun and I love it. I can easily incorporate it in my (often busy) life in what little free time I have and I always find to learn something new in each class I take.
The classes have a clear structure and are easy to follow. And for everything you can learn, the Price is truly not high...
Skillshare's customer services asked me for my IP address to cancel my credit card information subscription.
Skillshare person would not speak with me on the phone to prove my identity when I could not login my former email.
The amount of effort to cancel a card and no customer service has me devastated.
If you take advantage of the 99 cent trial you will be charged automatically for $96.00 for a year subscription.
This site is a scam site.
I feel sorry for the teachers on the site since this type of behavior from the parent company makes any of the content worthless.
Have an up front policy and be transparent and you will get customers.
The best thing about SkillShare is that I can take the courses in a self
Paced manner. This is an amazing feature when it comes to a full time
Working professional like me.
I would recommend this as a go to source if you want to learn a new
Skill-set from the foundation to an expert
Having a self-paced environment to learn and improving knowledge
Is a wonderful way to stay at the top of my work and my industry.
I signed up for the 2 month trial, I cancelled before the trial period would end, knowing that if I didn't they would charge my credit card. They still charged my credit card 141$, and now I am having a very time contacting them to have the amount refunded. They do not have a phone number to speak to real humans.
Skillshare Premium is one of the best things I have indulged in lately and will continue to indulge in in the future. So many high quality courses on exactly the topics that move me at the moment and where I want to continue my education uncomplicated and at my own pace. Skillshare makes this possible.
Same thing happened to me: I cancelled my trial period 10 days before it ended and they took the subscription immediately, rather than at the end of my trial period as they stated they would. There must be some sort of action that can be taken when companies do this sort of thing? It must be illegal?
Hi Penny,
So sorry for the mixup with your cancellation! Our team did receive your email on March 9th and issued you a full refund the next day for the charges that accrued on your credit card. We do apologize again though for the misunderstanding! If you are able, we'd love to hear from you about your experience with our support team.
Best,
Skillshare
I have been a Skillshare member for about 2 years. In that time the content has grown exponentially and the quality keeps getting better. They have implemented a lean approach to making their system better. I have not only learned, I have used the knowledge I have gained to make money. Overall great community, content, and resource.
I signed up for a year on Skillshare, after trying it out for a month. I have watched many videos on photography, cooking, juggling, drawing to name just a few. Am i better photographer because of Skillshare, absolutely! Am i a better juggler, well no, not really, but I blame that on me, not the clever people at Skillshare.
