I wanted a monthly free trial and they subscribed me to a year plan and now they are charging me over and over, also they turned on automatic renewal so even next year they will charge me for a no ending story.
They don't answer my calls either!
Absolute thieves!
Yes, it happened to me as well. I got their 30-day plan, and made sure to turn off the auto-renewal since I read the bad reviews. I took a screenshot of the auto-renewal off.
About 25 days into my plan, they auto-renew and charged my card. They also turned the auto-renewal back on. I emailed and chat same day, and was promised to get a refund. And that early auto-renewal was for my convenience, so I don't experience "loss of service". That is exactly what I wanted: for them to get lost.
One word: chargeback. Please call your credit card company and fight the charge. After many chargebacks, VISA will drop their merchant account or teach them to be honest.
Beware of this company, First they show you annual plan andn charge you some money. Then the same amount is charged every month withour your CONSENT. It is a fraud. Even though I called 3 days in advance to cancel my auto renewal, they still charged my account. My only advice is to stay away from this company
There's plenty of better options. They charge your credit card without giving prior notice. And if you want to cancel your account early, you'll be billed for the cancellation. My account has been unused for months and they want to charge me for wanting to cancel my plan.
Don't ever go even for the free trial! The yearly subscription starts automatically and it is impossible to cancel it! Their chat box is dis-activated and they don't answer to the phone!
When they answered to my email, they promised to cancel my subscription, but they asked me to pay cancellation fees. I authorized the cancellation fees, just to get this over once and for all, and 20 days later they withdraw a new monthly payment from my bank account!
In my shutterstock I have to apply again for the early cancellation.
They are huge scammers and thieves!
I am an attorney. I tried to purchase some video clips and Shutterstock charged my credit card for an annual subscription for $1579. 00. Then the very next day, they charged my credit card for ANOTHER $1579. 00. They refuse to refund the charges and I'll be taking them to court. Do not do business with this company. Stay far, far away.
I remember cancel my account after one month cause I will pay for one month instead of free trial. When I sign up said easy cancel and use as you need and stop you don't want to use. Their cancelation are confusing. The button available is "stop renew", I though it's for cancel. I tried cancel again and still charging. Therefore, I call customer service for help. She said I need to pay for cancelation fee. I asked her why, I never sign up for year. I known I was payment by monthly that cost more. She said will tell account send me email in an hour for cancelation. Till now I have not got any email….
I took the opportunity to try the one month demo plan. I had one inquiry regarding file formats, which is a simple request for quickly processing a file type to customize an image mockup. The E-Mail support was not helpful and simply ignored my inquiry. The chat support sent me a link to a FAQ, completely uninterested in my request. I don't encourage professional designers using this platform, as costumer care is valued at zero.
Account is not clear. It is BS. I wish I had read the reviews before I signed up for what I believed to be $29.00 for 10 downloads for the year! I had to pay to get out of this contract. After being charged over $300.00 and never, not once login to my account.
They rip you off on the first month $5 off coupon and tie you for the whole year even you don't like their service. Also their website has been ON auto renewal, there's no way for you to turn off the auto renewal. You are forced to call them in the last day of the yearly contract in order to request turn off this auto renewal. Crazy! Whey we cannot turn it off on the website? They are scam and bad service. I won't use it anymore in my life.
Purchase a subscription elsewhere.
Their logic = if you end your 12 month contract at 7 months, we'll charge you $140. If you end after 11 months, we'll charge you $220.
What happens if your client cancels their 1 year marketing project early?
Great for Shutterstock's $, terrible for customer relations.
Typically if you need to spend a small amount on a websites service, youll buy it for one month and get what you need, and every other website ive visited will politely allow you to cancel. Not shutterstock. They charged me 20 bucks to cancel. Sheisty bastards. Next time i'll buy from someone else.
A couple weeks ago, I wrote an innovative technological innovation and style articles. My subject was about the effect the technological innovation had on the graphics exercise. This process was not at all easy for me because I had a bit idea about the technological innovation used in the graphics. So I search for help from my relative who had enough concepts about graphics. He informed me to make research on developers concepts on the effect technological innovation have had on the graphics process.
They do some cheating works. Automatically the website charge your money! They charge without notice and cannot get your money back! And they claim they can't refund it. SLEAZY business practice. They should make it so if you want it, you turn it on, not the other way around.
Been a Shutterstock customer for a few years, used them along with Dreamstime and Istokc. It used to be a good company, not it's nothing but a business. Hard to speak with a real person and when it happens it; s all about money. How can they make money out of you. I gave up istock too, am using Dreamstime exclusively now.
Stole my money, they give you a free trial but don't let you cancel, its impossible as you have to beg them to do it, no way allows you to do it yourself. I'm still battling and they keep taking my money
The last time I used Shutterstock I was careful to choose the pay per item option and next thing I know I've been charged $30 per month for the past 3 months for a subscription. I will never use them again.
I purchased a pack for just 2 photos. This was NOT a subscription. Just choose two photos to download and that would be it. Unfortunately, shutterstock had the genius idea to make this auto-renew which means that once I downloaded 2 photos, they charged me again and said I could download 2 more photos. Absolutely stupid. Imagine if Amazon sends you a TV, and once you receive that TV, Amazon automatically charges you and sends you another one.
Good selection of videos but very unfortunately, I wrote to them with an urgent question about four times and only got a response a month later.
I had purchased a package of videos apparently suitable for the website but it turned out really blurry.
I wanted to upgrade to one with higher resolution and they simply told me to purchase the new upgraded videos and they will refund the old videos that i had bought. However, they didnt give me any indication of how the refund process would be and didnt ask me for any details.
This does not give me any confidence that my previous purchase would be refunded at all after i purchase the new one.
My project was delayed because of their poor to zero customer service. VERY DISAPPOINTING!
They auto-renewed my subscription without prior notification and when I contacted customer service they would not reverse the charges despite the fact that I was not using the account and they had not asked permission. Unethical.
Answer: It's the delta between normal monthly rate & discounted rate (based on year subscription) x the number of months into the subscription. Example: $50/month standard rate $30/month yearly subscription 9 months of usage $50 - $30 = $20 x 9 months = $180 for early termination.
Answer: Yes once downloaded the images are yours to use forever and they have many plan options, some of wish are one time payments
Answer: On tge website there is not a option to purchase a single image however, if you have an ios or android device you cam download the shutterstock app and purchase the single image of your choice
Answer: Call them but they'll charge you a $40 cancellation fee!
