Like the Desktop SF website the app us full of horrible bugs! The worst is scrolling through many years of photos, you select one to expand, and a photo from a different year pops up! Happens 90% of the time. I try to delete a photo, message pops up, won't let me delete or get rid of the message. SF is notorious for having awful websites full of bugs. They don't bother to fix them. Fed up!

I ordered school photos for my granddaughter and the picture I received was someone else's child pretty unimpressed with them, I purchased this online and do not have a proof of purchase if this keeps my review from being posted that is pretty crappy but hey anything to protect the ones who don't produce.

Customer service was useless, time consuming, repetitive, A JOKE. Got notification my sons pics were ready to review so I opened up the link and while it shows my purchases, it wouldn't accept my password. After 5 reset attempts on my own I went into their alleged Customer Service chat line. They were useless - I had the first rep cancel out chat when I send the site sucked lol. Already wasted to much time - and still can't access any photo's.

Terrible Quality Prints!

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED on all my prints orders! Quality is TERRIBLE! The color is off, distorted and the CROPPING is WAY OFF. Costco this was a BIG MISTAKE! I feel SO let down! I am looking for another printing company! NOT worth the MONEY!

We have been using Shutterfly for over a decade. We adopted our daughter 13 years ago at birth and have been updating folders (EVERY MONTH FOR 13 YEARS!) to share pictures of our daughter with her birth family. We trusted Shutterfly and after sending an email that probably was sent to spam, changing their policies, Shutterfly deactivated our account and all accounts deemed "inactive." I should have backed them up, but do not have a computer or computer skills to do that. After being a customer for so long, I would have thought that reaching out to their customers in multiple ways could have solved this problem. Shutterfly does not care about your family or your memories!

Canadian client here... calling customer service for my issue was the biggest waste of time! They sent me in circles, said they would follow up and didnt, sent me to a 3rd party site that didnt work. I am so aggravated by all the time I spent only to be told that I could not benefit from the promotion I saw on `shutterfly.com` which would have been fine to hear the first time I called but not after calling 4 times to figure out the issue - accomodation should happen when you waste a clients time THAT much. I will never use this provide again. The costco partnership is also BS! Does not take away 49% more like 10% off the total. SHUTTERFLY US and SHUTTERFLY CANADA should not be ``different companies``. What a misleading client experience all around. It took 4 phone calls for someone to tell me I had to call shutterfly Canada. I should have just picked up the phone and talked to thin air. What a time-wasting company.

Although, they have made it convenient to order photos, the product is really not so great. It is a very long time to receive orders. All in all, if you're looking for quality products, reasonable costs and timely deliveries, they have fallen way short.
I do not have a picture to take, as my order never made it to our home.

Uneven quality

I just received a photo book and must say, that I am less impressed by the pictures. It is like the have a slight hazy. I took Professional 6 Color Printing, because I did that with a book in 2022 and those were so beautiful. I expected that from this one too. Not so much. The colors are not as bright and sharp as the one from last year. It shows time and time again, that Shutterfly is very inconsistent in quality. Such a pity, because love to use a website like this. But apparently nowadays is like so many other things: a gamble

Unreliable shipping

I created an album for a friend that is dying of cancer. I paid the maximum shipping for a guaranteed delivery date that would get there before a chemo treatment. He is unlikely to survive that next treatment. I wanted him to see it and not just have it for his family.

The day of "guaranteed delivery", they told me they had some complications and it would be a few more days. When I talked with them, they offered to credit the shipping to the next order. That isn't going to happen. There won't be a next order.

Forgot My Order? Atrocious Customer Service!

I ordered a custom photo book on Aug 15 and paid (more than the cost of the book itself) for expedited shipping so that it would arrive on Aug 22, since I was flying across the country on Aug 23 and it was a bday gift for a friend. By Aug 21 my order status still only said "order placed" - didn't even say "in production," and definitely no tracking number. I used the chat service to contact customer service and the person I spoke to gave me absolutely FALSE information, saying it had already shipped and was in transit (spoiler, it wasn't), and their communication was just so so so bad and confusing and all over the place, completely unprofessional, seriously like it felt like they were drunk talking to me (see attached photos). So I asked for the tracking info, and they said they didn't have it. None of it made any sense. Finally my husband called them and talked to a different person and they were able to tell us it hadn't shipped yet and they could change the shipping address so that it would go directly to my friend across the country rather than my place. All that said, this means I wouldn't get to deliver it to my friend in-person at her party, which made me really sad. Currently (today is Aug 22), my order status still only says "order placed" and the new expected delivery date is Aug 29. This leads me to believe they just like, lost my order originally!?!?!?! I don't know. It has been a nightmare dealing with this company and their customer service. Avoid at all costs.

Shady promotions

I received a text offering EXTRA 20% off if I allowed Shutterfly to send me promotions. When I tried to use it, I found out you can only use one promotion. What does EXTRA mean then? Very shady. Done with Shutterfly.

I've been ordering photo books on Shutterfly for a few years. My last order was delivered, but I never received it. I called Shutterfly and they resolved the issue in a timely manner and were super polite. I will be definitively ordering from them again.

The quality of the printing is not nearly as good and the paper used was a much lower quality in terms of paper grade, thickness and and feel than Costco photo ever was. I used to use Costco because it was a great value for the money. Shutterfly is not the same. Find someone else, even if it costs a little more; it will be worth it and spare you the disappointment.
Also, Costco used to ship photos flat, shutterfly rolled them up which resulted in roll marks on the photos after trying to flatten them. Due to the thinness and lower quality of the paper.

Shame on Costco. You should have never joined forces with Shutterfly.
I ordered 9 Photobooks and additional prints of my mothers 80th birthday celebration. What a complete disaster. The Photobooks had spots on each page, and the photos also had imperfections. When I finally reached customer service via text, that was a disaster as well. I asked for contact information of a manager or the owner, and was denied same on several occasions. Poor, poor customer service.
After 3 reprints, my prints and books are not 100%….
Shop local, do not use Shutterfly. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

My $600 order had to be reprinted 3 times due to Shutterfly's colour cast being off from my recalibrated display and from their own website upload page. What was uploaded was not how the prints looked in the end.

I had a photography contract to complete for the sports club which ends at a year end banquet and the members and athletes come together to receive awards and their action shot photographs/team photos and this year I had completed all the photos and edits one month early. In having to reprint all 220 8x12's 3 times, I used up all the extra time I had and ultimately had to go to another print shop to complete my order. In my 20 years of being a professional sports photographer and having my prints done with Costco, I have never had such bad printing to deal with.

Shutterfly customer service suggested I "turn off colour correction" when I uploaded the photos but when I did, the prints kept coming back as "colour correction ON". My complaint with customer service was escalated to management and they told me "colour correction can't be turned off"WHAT?! They could not communicate with the lab to clarify that colour correction was OFF but told me it was,…it was not. What an extremely disappointing and stressful service and experience. EVERYONE stay away from Shutterfly, especially with high priced orders. Costco needs to be responsible for handing over their printing business to them.

Great Service

I ordered an 8-Photo poster using Shutterfly template. Poster arrived in a 3 sided protective box which UPS not only crushed & bent, but also managed to puncture with a hole. As expected, the poster inside was compromised (lines through several photos where the poster had been bent). The quality of the poster and photos were good but the damage was quite visible. Shutterfly customer service was very easy to deal with. I explained the situation and offered to send photos of the damage. They are sending me a new poster with no charges at all. I am very happy with the product and especially with their customer service. I will definitely use Shutterfly again!

I HAVE BEEN A COSTCO MEMBER SINCE 2004 AND HAVE SOLELY USED THEM FOR ALL MY PHOTO NEEDS.I WILL NEVER USE SHUTTERFLY AGAIN. MY FATHERS DAY ORDER WAS SHIPPED TO INCORRECT ADDRESS WHEN I CALLED THEY WOULD NOT REROUTE BUT DID OFFER TO REORDER WHICH I AGREED. THE SEOND ORDER THEN SHIPPED AGAIN TO AN INCORRECT ADDRESS AND WAS RETURNED WITHOUT BEING DIRECTED TO MY CORRECT ADDRESS THAT IS LISTED ON MY ACCOUNT, RUINED MY 2 FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEA BECAUSE OF IT. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE IT IS AUTOMATED FINALLY ABLE TO SPEAK TO A REP WHOM COULD NOT UNDERSTAND ME NOR COULD I UNDERSTAND HER SHE TRANSFERED ME TO ANOTHER REP SAME ISSUE AND THEN YET A 3RD REP WHOM I BELEIVE UNDERSTOOD ME AND TRANSFERED ME TO A "MANAGER" WHICH GOT HER VOICEMAIL. I DEMAND A REFUND FOR MY ORDERS I NEVER RECEIVED NOTHING CAN CHANGE THE SITUATION ONLY THE FACT I WILL NEVER USE AGAIN. I WOULD RATHER PAY A COMPANY THAT CHARGES ME 3 TIMES THE AMOUNT AND KNOW I WILL AT LEAST GET WHAT I ORDERED IN THE TIME FRAME IT IS TOLD TO ME.

In April of 2023 when I went on the site to finish organizing my child's high school graduation books, my account was void of all digital creations along with 19 years of our family memories. Shutterfly had sent 3 emails to an old email account communicating that all contents of client accounts would be deleted in March of 2023. Oh how I wish Shutterfly had taken into account the thousands spent over 19 years or at least waited for a reply... or a purchase? In hindsight, it was unwise to entrust 19 years (2002-2020) of digital memories to Shutterfly. The experience was heart wrenching. Sadly, Shutterfly replied with, "We sent notification emails."
