Tickets came too late
November 12, 2021

On Sunday, ordered tickets for Tuesday practice round for Ryder Cup. "next day service" was not fulfilled. When calling the help line, never was able to talk with a live person, despite LONG wait times.
Email after the event and again recently, no response.
Tried to have credit card company work on my behalf but Seat Geek didn't respond to it either.

Thieves
August 22, 2022

Show I booked and paid for cancelled along with rest of tour. Easy enough, right. Money back for show that didn't happen? Nope. "All sales final." Of course that was after the cancellation. All that BS on their website about guarantees and cancel at any time is just a lie. Ironically the venue also emailed me news of the cancellation and told me to contact point of sale for full refund. Bye Bye $600. I've emailed and called so many times that I'm just going to give up and do my best to inform everyone what a crook SeatGeek is.

Terrible Service - Ticket Delivery
June 18, 2023

Purchased a parking pass for the US Open. Website shows 30 minute delivery, received the pass 12 hours later - after the tournament round for the day was over. No way to contact them either (or at least not obvious to me) to work a solution. SeatGeek did respond to me a couple of days later and refunded the purchase - which was great, but really needed the tickets. Anyway - Understand things happen.

Good for finding decent prices on seats to events you want to attend. But the seller fees seem exorbitant. And some of the sellers they work with dont have apps. So you get your tickets via different methods at times.

What a waste of time
January 31, 2017

Expensive tickets, over $1,400 purchased and for days the order remained "pending" despite this being against Seat Geek's policy. Many emails back and forth, they continually made excuses for the "broker" not taking action. Finally called them and they said they'd cancel within 24 hours. We'll see, but this should not have occurred in the first place.

I tried ordering tickets for Coldplay at MetLife Stadium. I've used seatgeek several times in the past and have experienced no issues. This time, I purchased tickets through seatgeek, and my order was unable to be confirmed. Funds were already taken out of my account but said that they would be refunded within a few days. So I ordered tickets again since the representative said that ticket cancellations are "extremely rare." call me lucky because it once again cancelled my order due to an inability to confirm the tickets. Once again, funds were withdrawn and I now have to wait for $400+ to return to my account.

I called seatgeek once again and they said the best they could do for this was to simply help me search and "almost guarantee" that tickets would be confirmed. No discount, no gift card, not even a promo code for having to deal with this terrible ordeal. I'm skeptical of using seatgeek ever again.

Hi Joseph, thank you for taking time to share your experience. Hearing from our customers about how they use SeatGeek and issues that they encounter helps us to improve. It looks like you had a couple order attempts that couldn't be confirmed. We apologize for the frustration. This issue is rare but more likely to happen for more popular events where tickets are "flying off the shelves." There is an authorization hold on your card at checkout to verify it and also to make sure that, if a charge were to occur, it wouldn't overdraft your account. If an order cannot be confirmed, we immediately inform your credit card company to release your funds back to you. I assure you we are always working to provide a secure ticket buying experience and it's feedback like this that helps us know which direction to go in regards to our work.

Still waiting for help
December 21, 2017

Luckily, I bought tickets for March. I'm having troubles downloading my tickets to my phone and contacted customer service over two weeks ago and got nothing but a "form letter" answer with the instructions I already tried and failed. I'll wait until after the holidays and, hopefully, have better luck getting someone to help.

Avoid Seat Geek
July 22, 2024
Updated review

I purchased tickets to Frankie Valli last night and another couple were in my seats, they had identical tickets. The venue let me stay but we were moved to the back of the venue. I paid dearly for 3rd row seats.
SeatGeeks responce was that they only sell the tickets and the problem lies with the third party seller or the venue.
I purchased the tickets from SeatGeek not the venue or the third party.
I am seat geeks customer and a responsible company should exceed the customers expectations. That is not the case with SeatGeek.
To make it worse the tickets were purchased with a credit from Seat Geek. They had refused to give me a refund, only offered a credit.
This gave them the opportunity to screw me over again.
Save yourself the aggravation, do yourself a favor and AVOID SEAT GEEK!
Thank You,
Robert Dugan

Good Luck if you need help from Seatgeek

Previous review

I'd suggest avoiding Seatgeek!
Due to a family conflict I had to "swap" tickets I had for a Frankie Valli concert on June 21,2024. I had the tickets transferred from Ticketmaster to SeatGeek, which was extremely easy. I proceeded to swap the tickets on seatgeek with the intent to use the "discount code" on another date for a Frankie Valli event. I chose July 21. I went to checkout after I saw the discount code and attempted to add it and finished the payment process. After finishing I saw the code wasn't used and my card was charged the full price of the tickets.
I immediately started chatting with 3 different support people getting the same standard book response from each. After 2-3 hours of typing and getting disconnected I got a phone number for support. The support employee, just like all the others said that he would help. After another 45 minutes on the phone he also was no help. I've now paid $800, $390 more than I have the money for but got a "discount code" so I can go through this fiasco again if it doesn't work. Close to 4 hours of runaround with absolutely no resolution whatsoever.
I will use the "discount code" on something and never use the seatgeek service again.

So my wife & daughter purchased tickets this past April for last night's Harry Styles Chicago concert. Price for the two tickets and service fees were $943 and change. I told her she was out of her mind! My wife says "I don't know how much time I have left, my cancer could come back anytime, This is about making memories for a lifetime with our daughter!" I said "Buy the tickets!" Upon arriving they were told their tickets were not valid because someone had already entered using them. At the box office they were told it appears the seller had sold them multiple times on various sites. Do they not have some way of verifying tickets are on the level? This is upsetting on so many levels especially seeing as there apparently are no refunds thru Seat Geek. We have contacted them thru their website, and seek a full refund and for Seat Geek to go after the seller.

Bought a $300 ticket for a Dead and Company concert 3 weeks prior to show. Never received it nor my money back. Dozens of emails and phone calls leading up to the event all of which did nothing but run me around in circles and make excuses. Since then they will not respond to emails and have been left on hold with customer service for over 2 hours on 2 different occasions. Am now having to dispute charges with my credit card company - worst customer service experience ever!

Be Careful
November 8, 2021

We purchased tickets the cowboys game and then attempted to get a parking pass. The first attempt an error message popped up and said the spots were no longer available. So I looked for other spots. After securing those spots, the next day I saw my credit card had been charged for both spots. I immediately tried to contact swat geek but to no avail. They don't respond to your emails at all. Now I am having to go through my credit card company to try to get our money back. I am not surprised, another company focused on profits and not the people! Will not be using them again!

You have to understand thier return policy before you purchase. Its obvious that you can't return them for a refund of any kind, just a promo code that expires in 1 year. But if you want to re-coop you money, you have to sell the tickets on either thier platform or another. Unfortunately, they sell E-tickets with a revolving QR code, which cannot be resold anywhere. Very shady practice. I would have loved to learn this before spending $740. I will not be purchasing tickets from seat geek, and would happily spend a premium with another platform. Frances D (the live chat support) was very helpful.

I purchased tickets only to find out that the already incredible fee was per ticket ($100 for a $300 ticket). I had no intention of paying $100 fee per ticket and I informed them as such within minutes of the transaction. After many emails and phone calls, SeatGeek refused to refund my money or offer any solution. Their "solution" is to suggest I sell the tickets again, on which they will get fees on that sale, and so on, and so on. I threw away so much money and they would rather be greedy than make a happy customer who could return to use their service again. Bad business. Don't buy!

I bought World series tickets and ran into issues. I tried calling but there is no published number nor anyway to get help. I emailed their customer service, they have not responded yet. These are time sensitive world series tickets. I should have went with another site, the only support was through their email address so if you have any trouble you will have to rely on them emailing you back. I will never buy from this site again.

Bought through ticket master then seat geek tried transferring ( new partner for Barclays)for a week and assured me everything would be fine. After a dozen emails and phone calls " you will get your tickets tomorrow " they fixed the problem 20 minutes from showtime. I would need a helicopter to get to Brooklyn on time. $600 lost and they are blaming Ticketmaster, Barclays, and me for their technical error " we can't find the tickets "

Switch and bait
January 14, 2023

When selecting your seats by section, it will show you the cost for that section. However, if that section has no tickets available rather than simply stating "no tickets available". It auto suggests is a different section without indicating that is what it's doing. I noticed immediately and in less than five minutes Contacted their customer service to be told that I just need to resell them. This is a very unscrupulous business practice. Just indicate there are no tickets available!

SeatGeek has a guarantee that tickets will be received in time for the event. I did not receive my tickets on time but they have not refunded me nor responded to my many phone calls and emails. My concert was 5 months ago. I was "patient" as was requested by several customer service reps.

You cannot resell them on that site if your plans change. You have to use another site. None of that is made particularly clear in the fine print. There is an offer for a refund of some kind - I guess bank the price of the ticket less the $100 (!) in fees? Hard to tell. But a couple days before the event, when you realize it won't sell is too late to get the refund. So you don't really have time to re-sell. You can be on CHAT with them twice, and they won't warn you. Predatory business practices; buyer beware!

I bought 4 tickets to a recent event and unfortunately my son could not attend. No problem, I thought... I will find someone else to come or in a worst case scenario, list the ticket for resale. Well, no luck finding someone else to come. I listed the ticket for sale.

Later that evening, as I went on to monitor prices so as to adjust the listing price if appropriate, I noted both the SeatGeek iPhone app and website were down for maintenance.

When the site came back up, the listing was gone. So was the ticket. I immediately called customer service. After roughly an hour on hold I got a rep who was [reading from a call script] apologetic and reassured me she would do everything she could to assist. Advised me their team was looking into it and that I would receive a call back.

The morning of the event... no ticket. No listing. I called again. Another hour on hold. They had no record of my previous call and the rep said nearly the exact same thing as the previous rep.

Went to event.

A week later I received a follow up call requesting a screenshot from the website from when the error had occurred. I informed them that since the event had passed and the ticket disappeared I had no way to obtain a screenshot. The rep reiterated that they needed a screenshot, but would escalate the issue.

Another week passes. This time I receive an email requesting a screenshot. I again attempted to explain that the event took place three weeks ago. The ticket disappeared during their system maintenance. Even if I somehow had the ticket, I could not list it as the event already happened.

Another week passes. Another email. Another request for a screenshot.

I feel like I am losing my mind. Do not use this horrific service. The fees may be higher through StubHub but trust me, it is the lesser of evils. Or try Game Time, I hear that advertised quite a bit. Just anything but SeatGeek.
