Have to admit this - the site was entertaining in that they have a good dose of humour. However, most of it, as someone pointed out, is pricking some particular group or race. Moderator isnt moderate but rather a foul mouthed extremist... I guess, there are people who call that 'open minded' or 'brutally honest' without being entirely wrong...

Entertaining, but as bull $#*! as bull $#*! can be... :). . Recommended for a quick laugh... but not to seriously construe anything from the content... sorry, trash... :)

Worst blog Ever i came across. Moderator thinks He is a Hyper Intelligent and makes fun of even Good movies/Even Music to prove it. I could see the user comments being ridiculed.
The only plus is Trashing of Bad movie to the core.

Using indecent words is also one more bad thing. Anyhow lot of their targeted film stars are earning well and famous and these guys will be in famous among few cyber people due to their moronic content

I have been reading and occasionally commenting on SI (as regular readers refer to SearchIndia.com) for 4 or 5 yrs.

This is one entertaining, red-chilly hot blog. Movie reviews are amusing.

Don't understand the negative comments of other reviewers about Telugus or Tamils. SI blog has a critical take on anything and everything. Hindi films, Tamil movies, Telugus, Tamils, Indians, Americans, Chinese, Pakistanis etc are all ridiculed at one time or other. Even I have been ridiculed for my comments.

Moderator responds sarcastically to every comment.

Has Pluses and Minuses

I have been reading SearchIndia.com Blog for last 3 or 4 years. Like any blog, SI (as we daily readers refer to the blog) has pluses and minuses.

Pluses:
Entertaining most of the time.
Mercilessly attacks bad Hindi and Tamil films.
Brings rare foreign movies to readers attention.
Criticises everything and anything.
Interactive because moderator responds to every comment with witty retorts.
Good English.

Minuses
Arrogance of moderator and not very receptive to alternative opinions
Some content is U.S. centric, not of interest to Canadians
May come across as biased against certain groups and people. But I'm inclined to be more forgiving here since they attack everyone (Indians, Americans, Tamils, Telugus, Gujratis... hard to find a group not ridiculed by SI)

For me, the pluses outweigh the minuses.

Overall, a different kind of blog with variety.

This blog exemplifies the worst of what an internet experience should be. Instead of lively debate, thoughtful discourse or creative enterprise, the bloggers come across as shockingly immature high school kids playing at being grown ups spewing some vague but utterly pointless angst which the authors probably cannot even define for themselves. Most of the news items are blatantly plagiarized with no citations or references. Commentary is mostly melodramatic vitriol directed against Hindus, Telugus or others of mostly Indian origin. Crude school yard potty humor masquerades as critique. Bloggers appear to harbor a deep seated hatred and frustration borne out of impotence and use the internet medium as their only outlet. Very likely hosted and managed by some maladjusted, India-hating hypereducated youth of Indian extraction with a Himalayan chip on their shoulder and an axe to grind. Shun this site and stay away if you don't want to waste your time

I've been visiting this site for quite sometime and I love this site. I was also surprised to see a one rating given by the previous reviewer. Anyway many people doesnt like the outright frankness and honest reviews of searchIndia or SI as we regular readers refer to the moderators. It really is a good site with honest review and love towards india and indian culture (the way it really is and not the way its marketed in popular terms). It shows the scum India has become, and it also applauds the sincere efforts India makes?(which we all know is seperated far apart, between curroption and hipocracy).
Visit searchindia.com if you want sugarfree, in your face reviews. For people who like their reviews laced with politically correct statements that doesnt convey anything,, I think there are many sites out there that can cater freely and abunduntly.

One of the worst websites i have ever come across. Full of racist speech, sensation mongering, abusive language, no real analysis of issues. And what's worse the Site's owner, refuses to even discuss with any one.

Also for a site, which calls itself SearchIndia.com, the website seems to take a perverse pleasure in denigrating India, Indians and anything Indian. The owner of the website, seems to be one of those Indians, who take pride in denigrating everything related to India.

Even on Economic Issues, Security, Politics, all this Website does to provide is more rhetoric, less substance.

Searchindia is just a troll site. I got to this site while searching for "Raghunandan Yandamuri," the alleged killer in the baby Sanvi case. Instead of focusing on the case, or the victims, the people who run this site go on a rant about the telugu community, making fun of them, when both the victims and the perpetrator belong to the same community. The focus was more on Telugu people being a bunch of idiots. I didn't think it was warranted, so I posted a comment saying they shouldn't make fun of a community for an individuals action, especially when the victims also belong to the same community and they should have respect for the victims. My comment was "moderated", and posted as somehow I was the one who should have respect for victims. They absolutely have no integrity and hide behind their comments policy that they can virtually do whatever they wish. I respect property rights, so I wish them good luck in their trolling about Telugu community, but I also wouldn't step there again. Stay away if you can, unless you want to take part in whatever excrement they throw, jabbing the victims.
