A new addition on this site, I was expecting this site...
February 5, 2014

A new addition on this site, I was expecting this site NOT mentioning about Satya Nadella, but hey, they mentioned the appointment, but as usual, in his over-scripted and over-action english style, analyses that a tech giant like Microsoft made a mistake by appointing Satya... WOW! What an analysis. Only reason:- he is a Telugu.

Another article immediately mentions about "commonality in telugu killers" where he's trying to project all Telugus as killers thereby undermining any positive news.

I bet he has got some serious issues/problems in his life and needs some help mentally.__________________________________________________________________

Very extremist, As anyone else I was searching for Raghu Y's case and got into this site, rather than showing sympathy at the episode, he/she hides his telugu community bashing cleverly into the script. Author of this website shows off his english talent and concentrates on bashing telugu community. Also, when I read some posts from various people questioning his reason, he/she cleverly uses his/her talent to twist, bend the reply._______________________________________________________________

Pros:
December 16, 2012

Pros:
Keeps us updated on India related stories

Humor used to be good (although, it gets stale quickly because of the same M. O. over and over again). I used to like their trash talk in the comment section, but soon it became repetitive and boring.

Restaurant reviews are very good to read if the reviewer is in a good mood (very rare)

Highly interactive because this blog seems to be his/her/their only thing in life, and the owner responds even as late as 3 am when the Indian visitors comment.

Command of Engish language is excellent. But the writing has been uninspiring lately.

The owner is a numbers geek. So when it is a fact based report, this site gives a unique perspective, which sometimes makes for interesting reading.

Cons:
Extreme prejudice against anything Indian. Reserves bonus hatred for Telugu people.

Both movie and restaurant reviews are not trustworthy and inconsistent because it depends on the mood of reviewer - not at all objective.

Movie reviews are terrible because the reviewer only rates them as either excellent or terrible. Nothing in between. Very poor judge of acting.(Look for the Cast Away review). The reviewer is drunk most of time. So although it makes for funny reading sometimes, it is most of the time unfairly harsh, when it comes to Indian movies. The Hollywood movie reviews are dull when compared to professional reviewers.
Recent Hindi movie prove the reviewer is inconsisten, because they heaped overwhelming praise on actors that they had nastily dissed earlier. (Cases in point: JTHJ, Housefull(sic) 2 reviews)

Their music knowledge is abysmal just like Narayana said. Luckily they don't do music reviews because they know their limitations, for once.

Yaps that he/she is fair in moderating, but blows fuse easily and unfairly.

Obsession with Apple products. Not a major con, but it is annoying.

The owner is apparently not maintaining good health and is being at his/her grumpy worst.

Bottom Line: Cons outweigh the Pros because of the owner's bigotry. More like 1.5 stars. Terrible site for reviews. Decent site for India news updates (if you can put up with the nasty owner). The site has potential to be good at things they do best, but unfortunately they spend most of the time on their weak stuff.

P.s.: I think they are a 2 member team. One of them is nice and the other one is vile trash. Or it may be a case of extreme bipolar disorder. Either way, I apologize to the nice one(if there is one) for this bad review. I hope the vile one will depart soon(or you will take your bipolar meds regularly) and change the site into a better one.

Waste of time
March 29, 2012

Waste of time. In a nutshell, the site owners are essentially indians who have migrated to US (surprise, surprise), have a massive superiority complex and simply indulge in venting their angst at everyone and everything (to be fair, not just indian). Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:

The site does have one merit. They point out the copycats of Indian Cinema. Any movies plagiarised from world cinema are trashed by them. However this is not really a big plus, since it is very easy to use one's own brains to spot a movie or song that is a rip-off.

Cons:

1) Moronic reviews that compare Indian Cinema to Hollywood and World Cinema. Honestly, I watch European Cinema (France, Sweden, Iceland, Denmark), etc. as well as Asian Cinema (Korean, Japanese, Thai, Hong Kong) in addition to Indian Cinema (Telugu, Tamil, Hindi) and Hollywood. However, the $#*!s that run the site seem to think they are the only ones who have a knowledge of World Cinema, and hence delight in degrading a movie like, say, Thiruppachi (Tamil film) by saying that such films represent the bottom most level of cinema.

Newsflash - it is possible to watch everything and enjoy it. I can take in a delightful korean crime thriller like One Nite in Mongkok, a Swedish masterpiece of comedy like Kopps AND a brainless entertainer like Thiruppachi at the same time. Only elitist morons will degrade it. After all, entertainment is entertainment. No one asks for logic all the time.

Furthermore, Let us take the example of Thiruppachi again. Such films do not intend to cater to a global audience but only to fans of tamil cinema who are aware of the rowdy culture in politics (which is related to the theme of the movie). And of course, there are exaggerations with respect to the lead actor's mannerisms, modus operandi, etc. But its still freakin' fun.

I am not one of those rabid fans who do hero-worship, but simply one who watches movies for fun. And I watch 'em all, be it Indian, American or Rest of the World.

In short, the $#*!s do not know there exist people like me who watch world cinema as well as the 'mindless' stuff that is tamil, telugu, hindi cinema, as they call it. Indian cinema is strictly for indians. Though their criticism of bollywood has some merit, it is useless trying to criticise mass films of Telugu and Tamil film industries, which cater to a different audience.

2) Mindless rants about how India is poor, people are uncaring, blah, blah. FYI, nobody asked you to comment on what Indians are doing since your asses are sitting in the US. Furthermore, there are many indians who are caring, who are rich and lead a comfortable life, like yours truly. Enough with the lectures.

India has a glorious past, and there are still many places of tourism with temples, rivers, etc. that even foriegners visit. Arts, Music, Dance, Literature, we have 'em all still. As far as the drawbacks such as poverty, etc. we don't need NRIs advising us.

3) Trying to impress by using bombastic words from English and the occasional touch of languages such as German to insult people. Really, what dinosaur uses words like 'Dummkopf' and 'Shmuck' to insult anyone? And what nerdy prick uses french such as 'comprende' to make a sarcastic point?

Sorry, not impressed.

4) Of course, personally abusing actors and directors they do not like. Just another bit of filth to the trash bag that is this website.

5) Since these morons profess atheism, they naturally feel it is their birthright to insult the beliefs of what they call 'Hindus'. Newsflash - Hinduism isn't one religion. There are 21 philosophical systems of thought, and the philosophy of Vedanta towers head and shoulders above all. So, next time you scoff at 'idol worship', first learn the philosophy behind it. Besides, what we worship is none of your business.

Though, this is not a major problem. Each person is entitled to his/her views and to express them. I normally don't care if people say that this is ridiculous, heck, I have friends who say so.The reason why I felt like criticising the site owners on this point it because the other negative points make their ignorance of Indian philosophical thought stand out as well. Whatever they do seems idiotic.

5) And might I say that their taste in music is as poor as the taste of the average tamil or hindi or telugu movie fan they deride? I listen to the genres of Metal (Black, Death, Thrash, Power, Progressive etc.), Eastern and Western Classical Music, Opera, Rock, etc. So, when the site owners, who seem to pride themselves on 'superior movie tastes', occasionally talk about music they like, I can't help laughing at their abysmal taste.

Once again, this may be a bit of spite on my part, criticising personal music tastes and irrelevant to the review of the Site. But hey, fair's fair when you have an ego the size of texas, that you criticise others for their movie tastes and yet have nothing to back it up with.

----

Stay away from this nonsensical site. I have never posted on that site, nor have I registered, in case you think I bore the brunt of their scorn. I merely witnessed their trash talking and how they insulted some people who had different viewpoints. Even though they claim that they don't insult unless the other party instigates it, fact remains that they are intolerant if someone praises an actor or director they can't stand.

Ultimately, cinema/music/philosophical viewpoints are your own taste. And there are better sites out there for all these.
