The overall reputation of the company is markedly negative, with numerous customers expressing dissatisfaction with product quality and customer service. Common complaints include receiving defective or incorrect parts, inadequate shipping practices, and a convoluted return process that leaves customers feeling unsupported. Additionally, the absence of direct customer service options, such as phone support, exacerbates frustrations. I ordered some wiper blades for my Spintervan after hearing an ad on the Ben Shapiro show. Ordering seemed easy enough. When the parts arrived I noticed they would not fit on my van so I went to return the order. The return section was difficult to navigate, and I filled out the forms online. They indicated I could pay to ship the products back at my expense or pay them to provide a shipping label. I sent the package at my own expense, and received an email from rock auto stating I had mailed the parts to the wrong location, and the cost of shipping the items back was more than the products were worth. They said they would discard the parts and thanked me for my purchase. Their website does not offer a customer service line to speak to a representative. Very disappointed.
Customer service is trash for this site twice I've paid extra to overnight a part both time the part is been wrong the second time I got the part it's the same part I sent back there's no one to call you can't talk to a person I would recommend never using rock auto for anything
I have been in the Automotive industry for 38yrs. I have been dealing with RockAuto now approx 2yrs and haven't had a problem with the thousands of dollars worth of parts I have purchased. To try and reduce the number of warehouses my order shipped from I selected a brand that I had never experienced before SKP. The 2 x distributors looked okay in the photos but their function was totally unacceptable. On both the caps don't locate on the male locator. On both the upper shaft has over. 040"(1.00mm) of lateral movement and the real topper is it r. E. t. A. r. D. s the spark before it starts to advance. I'm in Australia and emailed RockAuto the details of the problem. Their customer support is completely unsatisfying. I would say they didn't even read it but just sent a generic reply to say return it freight paid and we will send the same defective product back to where we sent it originally, which was my freight forwarder in Florida. Not happy with that I thought I would contact SKP direct. So 3 x comprehensive emails and 6 x messages later left on Brent Baldwin's voice mail and not an ounce of professional courtesy in responding. Both RockAuto and SKP have absolutely no professional integrity if they will not deal with their supplying of inferior defective parts into the market place. I will not be purchasing another SKP product and will be taking every opportunity to tell people how unsatisfied I am with the whole SKP Skyward Automotive experience. Scott Robertson
For more than three years now I have made numerous purchases of auto parts from Rock Auto. Alternators, water pumps, pullies, hubs, brakes and a variety of other parts for Chevy, Ford, Subaru and Hyundai. I always click onto the additional info before making my selection. All the parts have proved to be a good fit and good quality. Delivery has been on schedule or ahead of schedule. I like getting a notification in my in box when the parts are shipped.
I bought a remanufactured Hybrid battery from RockAuto just recently. They shipped it incredibly quickly to my daughter's address in Puerto Rico and it went right to her house within 3 days from the US mainland. She installed the battery which is performing really well and returned the core for the refund. It's a Dorman remanned battery and it was by far and away the best price for Puerto Rico. I had to contact customer service about the return shipping for the core but the communications went pretty well, all things considered. This is the first large ticket item that I bought from RockAuto but I've bought numerous other smaller cost parts for other cars from them. I'm very impressed with their parts and shipping. I'll continue to use them in the future.
Never dealt with such incompetency. No customer service available and the email team just doesn't care. Sent numerous emails that the address was wrong and NOT to send the rest of the order. A week later they still send the rest of the order to the WRONG address and don't really care!
I am doing a chargeback!
Ordered a power steering pump, hp line, and return hose for a 2007 Ford Focus. Parts were on time, fit nicely, core return was a snap, and credit given to my account. Return of one hose (the return hose as it turns out) was fast, free and easy. Confirmation of all transactions happened all the way down the line. Price was about 1/3 of getting it locally. Piece of junk car runs nice now without a lot of squealing.
I have been purchasing from Rockauto.com for years. I can tell you, they are not a scam site. A scam is ran by a very competent person that intentionally deceives you. Rockauto employs very incompetent people that just don't know how to read. I recently had a part that was stalled and had not shipped from the warehouse. I emailed the hidden email address asking them to look into it. I received the worst possible customer service response that could have been better sent by Siri. It simply said to go to the website and check my order status. The guy (Rodney) totally ignored my email all together. It almost looks like it is just an auto-reply to all messages. I understand wanting to automate all you can and be efficient. Ignoring your customer's issues and canned responses are not a good solution.
Hi I am writing this cause I am having a problem with this website I had been ordering parts
I returned a part that I ordered first didn't fit my car and send it back where it was purchased and this guys have a very bad customer service and they don't want to refund my money.
People be aware of buying parts from RockAuto.com no good service when is about refund they don't want to refund the money they make a lot of excuses
They will ALWAYS send the wrong part, no matter what the invoice says always check your order before you start working. They have 0 customer service and give 0 f*cks about you other than wanting your money. I only use them when I desperately need to and always have issues, with parts or returns or checking out or payments. They suck rocks. Be warned.
Purchase Monroe Shocks for my 2011 Jeep Liberty, they fell apart after 300 miles, took them off and took them to a authorized dealer they show me a set of there shocks, mind were counterfeits, call Rockauto customer service, a woman talk to me, told her my Monroe Shocks were counterfeits a man got on the phone yell at me, told me not to call again and hung up on me
After ordering the right parts I got the wrong ones sent to me and I tried to get the right ones and never did so I tried to get my money back and never got it At least with AutoZone you get that rock parts and if they are wrong you can take them back and get the right ones
Pay 34 roller for fast shipping never got the part. This place is a scam...
I want to purchase a bumper off rock auto but it looks like this. Looks like it could be like the inside of my bumper. Idk. Thats all thats there. Is that the actual bumper?
These guys shipped my part right away but I'm retired and had to wait to get the work done once it started the mechanic said it was the wrong part it plugs in and the original plug did not match. Rock's return policy says max 30 days Oh my I was at 38 days. I will never buy another thing from them and I suggest you buy with caution. This seems to be a reoccurring problem with these guys.
Rock Auto charged me $10.99 for shipping, and I was forced to return the item. They then charged me another $6.45 to return it, so I lost close to $18, which is something Amazon doesn't do. I'll never order from Rock Auto again!
Prices are awesome aren't they!
As long as you don't have to return anything or deal with customer service about a part issue you'll be fine.
Their website is very difficult to use and it's hard to find your previous orders.
Customer service is not responsive and they hide their email address and do not have a phone number for you to contact them. You are at their mercy.
The fact that there's no way to email or call anyone in customer service should be a clear sign not to order from them. I ordered 2 ac Delco wheel and hub bearing assemblies gm part # *******. I was sent skf which are garbage. I know these companies source each other's parts but i paid for ac Delco and not only that they sell the skf brand for my car cheaper then ac delco. I paid delco prices and got cheaper skf. I work on cars and know when a part is bad and the 2 skf bearings when spun by hand you can feel the roughness. They are suppose to turn smoothly not being able to feel anything rubbing etc. These bearings were bad on top of not being what i ordered. I sent my parts back wondering if I'll get screwed over i will update later when i know what's going on. No matter what the issue is they make you pay shipping even if they send wrong or bad part just an f. Y. i.
I will never have anything bad to say about Rockauto I even wear they're shirt to advertise for them. I have had 0 issues with this company. I'd give them 10 if I could. I have purchased a numerous amount of parts from this company. Maytervif fact I bought quality calipers and rotors from them a while ago and and 1 of the calipers froze up causing the rotor to warp. They sent us 2 new calipers and 1 new rotor without any questions. My warranty was up. So if you have a bad experience don't give up they will work with you. THANK YOU SO MUCH ROCKAUTO
Absolutely worst online buying experience to date! I made one order purchasing several items, only for ONE item out of SIX To be shipped properly. I received an email notifying me that magically my address was changed on the other five items I was expecting causing those items to be sent back to the warehouse! Even after contacting them before expected delivery attempting to Correct their negligence, The best solution Ralph in customer service could provide me was it was somehow my fault the address changed even though I received a fraction of my order fine and the rest of my parts even though they was a town away "literally a 30 minute drive" they would have to ship the rest of my items back to their warehouse wait three days then refund my money and I could try ordering again?! I desperately tried to reason The logical solution would be give the correct address to FedEx since my package was on hold waiting on their feedback to give the same address that shipped the first part of my order and would only chance being a day late. You can't reach these guys by telephone only email and "Ralph" who gives you the impression your emailing Helen Keller's ignorant and rude step sister is your only chance of help? I would chance eBay parts out of the darkest depths from China before doing business with these folks again. Ralph your the worse excuse of customer support I've ever experienced. I pray you learn some people skills, common sense, or terminated one. Your skills and work ethics wouldn't be good enough for free community service.
