It's hard to make money selling your gear when 75% of the offers come from spam troll accounts who make an offer and never pay, knowing Reverb does nothing to enforce payment or punish accounts for wasting time and screwing over potential sales.

Reverb doesn't even have a phone number anymore to contact customer service. It's just gone and directs you to chat bots instead.

There's no way to block buyers so you're constantly harassed by 0 feedback catfish accounts making offers to get their jollies. It's unprofessional and unbecoming of what was the official place to sell music gear.

Reverb has decided to let all of their customers be impacted equally now that they have changed their payment process to "Reverb Payments". Whether you are loyal or not- doesn't matter to this company. Take your money and go elsewhere!

Cancel culture co.
November 21, 2020

Reverb has started directing browsers away from sites because they don't like what they posted on Face Book, which has nothing to do with selling music gear. If they want to be political, I won't buy anything from them. They intentionally move traffic away from full tone pedals, which are some of my favorites. So, of course this hits home for me. I'll never shop any cancel culture site.

The site is very attractive with the opportunities they gives to you in first look, but do not rush to conclusions - this is not the case. These guys are unpredictable and have some NAZI mentality, because in the middle of my very good deal, they blocked my profile without explanation. Few days later, they start to ask me for my very personal information like photocopy of my ID, my bank account etc. Let me remind you that it's very dangerous to share this information with someone which is not official bank or government branch. Stay away and save your time and money!

This company was started because the founder didn't like eBay. Well, eBay blows Reverb away if you have any sort of problem as a buyer. Reverb support basically puts you out on your own to deal with scammers on their marketplace. They do not answer the phone, it's only a recording to go to their live chat, which is hardly staffed and is mainly a bot. If you do get someone on chat they push you to email, and they do not respond to emails for days.

Take my advice and realize that if you use Reverb, you are essentially gambling. If you have a good seller, you are good, but if you encounter one of the many scammers on this site you are on your own. I suggest sticking with the pros at eBay who have 1000x better support.

Avoid at all costs
November 25, 2020

Reverb is the absolute worst when it comes to service as a seller unless you buy the expensive insurance from them they won't help with shipping issues. What they don't tell you is UPS considers them the shipper and wont return your merchandise or work with you as a seller if there is a shipping issue. I lost $1000 bucks this way and they told me to bad so sad and would not intervene.

If you are a seller, beware. Reverb‘s (Etsy) uneducated listings dept will baselessly pull your listing claiming trademark "design" infringement and will threaten to suspend you if you relist. They provide no proof and no returned response to their baseless, ignorant claims. They are too lazy to present evidence to their claim or even return emails. You can't call or talk to a human being anywhere other than chat which is USELESS. Theres been no trademark EVER filed for the design of the guitar I listed, and yet the uneducated listing dept cannot be bothered. I would look elsewhere to sell your items unless you want to deal with folks who could care less about their customer base, aka the people that pay their wages.

Get general ideas
September 15, 2018

I bought things, great prices and products. I admit it though, I also use the site for a guide for average price of my own gear. Adding all the same make an models and conditions and divide by the number of instruments that are equal to the instrument in question.

Waste of Time
August 24, 2018

Tried to place an ad on this site, and simply wasted an hour of my time. After I wrote the ad, it asked me for my password, and when asked for the password to be reset, it also reset the entire page and through away my ad. After I re-wrote it, Reverb offered to waive the selling fee, but insisted that I give them my credit card info, even though I offered to pay any other fees in advance using PayPal. Why put your credit card info at risk for nothing? Considering how poorly their website works, I would question the security of the site.

Used Amp Has Problems
August 18, 2022

Bought Fender Deluxe Reverb amd described as "Excellent Condition, all gone through". Had the amp a few days, after about 1 1/2 hrs of play the Vibrato Channel starts making all knds of noise. I tried switching tubes, cleaning tube sockets. Messaged the seller Chris's Guitar Shop in Seattle and Reverb for a refund, got no response from either,. Buyer Beware, no customer service what so ever. Will never buy used a amp again.

I got an amazing deal on Drum Workshops' oversees brand PDP (new) and the seller (Guitar Center in Florida) set me up with extra heads and accessories. Was a great experience. I love way Reverb presents products as well.

Ughhhhh reverb
March 17, 2020

I had few problems while purchasing and leaving review, but it seems like i always have to go through reverb.com to solve it. Even little things like changing a comment. But because of the timeline difference, i'm awake having problem while they are not so i just wait for their reply for a long time and it finally gets to them, they sometimes makes me wonder if they ever listened to me. If they wanted to make an international music shop, they should be like one by expending their customer service time or giving users of the site more control. You know like changing a damn comment. Just put an EDIT button there. So yeah wasn't the best place to shop. Boy they SUCK

Best balance for fairness and customer support for buyers and sellers on any platform I have tried, and i have tried plenty! As long as you know the rules/policies and follow them, they support you 100%, whether buyer or seller, and you actually work with a real person in the usa who knows about the gear you are dealing with, not someone in a 3rd world call center that barely speaks english like most other sites.

No customer service
September 20, 2020

I bought an Alesis Strike Pro Kit Electronic Drum Set through Reverb and the sound processor failed under warranty. Both Reverb and Alesis have ghosted me and won't respond to any requests for customer service (even though I have told them I am willing to pay)., and Reverb will not post the review below. Stick with a real retailer that will stand behind the products they sell.
I purchased the Alesis Strike Pro Kit Electronic Drum Set to use with the Rock Band club at the High School where I teach. After a few weeks the sound processor started glitching and after 30 minutes of use it heats up and turns into a brick. I have never been able to rely on this kit for live performances or useful amounts of practice. Both Alesis and Reverb will not return e-mails and phone numbers are not available. Stick with Roland and Sweetwater if you plan to buy electronic drums online.

While they say they charge 5%, they don't tell you that they also charge a monthly fee based on sales AND an additional transaction fee. You can end up paying 20% of the sales price in fees to these scammers. Also, if you want your payout balance (so, if you don't want to have to buy something with your balance and pay even more in fees but just want your money) you have to give them your on-line banking ID and password. That is totally ridiculous! They could do a simple transfer using your bank routing number and account number, but they want full access to your bank account! This is a total no-no. You NEVER provide your bank access credentials to ANYONE! STAY AWAY FROM REVERB!

Where sites like eBay often differs sometimes too much to the buyer Reverb doesn't respect buyers at all! I've bought and sold on Reverb and the rarer occasions there was an issue sellers took care of the matter. Recently however, I had a seller not cooperate When I explained an amplifier I purchased had an issue. When I exhausted the road with the seller I escalated to Reverb support. They were throwing the burden of proof upon me asking I video the intermittent issue the amplifier was doing. How am I supposed to prove an intermittent issue with an amplifier being disabled and not technically evolved enough to video? I don't own that kind of equipment, I'm older and disabled.

I certainly didn't purchase this amplifier so I could turn around and have to repack it and send it back. This isn't a high volume seller by any means I have more feedback than they do. He must be related to somebody at Chicago Music Exchange/Reverb or something. This is why Reverb divorced itself from buyers using PayPal because you have that road to go and they've taken that away from buyers. I ignore that and use it for most purchases but happened to choose Affirm so I could spread out the payments on this purchase. Apparently I will have to go to Better Business Bureau and beyond since there's no support in the support department at Reverb. With Guitar Center filing Chapter 11 you would think Reverb/Chicago Music Exchange would be more buyer friendly.

Ordered product from Seller but wasn't as promised. Reported to Reverb.com customer support but didn't receive help. Wouldn't recommend site due to fact that Reverb.com wouldn't make dishonest seller do the right thing!
