My writer Lucas really knew his stuff. From the get-go, he pointed out all the things about my original resume that was suboptimal in the eyes of recruiters. He seemed to really know the inside outs of the hiring world - which was great.
The fact that he's in my field was really good, seeing how I was originally worried my writer wouldn't know much about programming. From receiving my new resume and cover letter, I can tell that there has been tremenduous improvement and I felt that I really got my moneys worth with everything.
I've tried 3 services, and this one was definitely the best I would say. I actually got to TALK with my writer (unlike the other services I've tried) and there was a sense of professionalism throughout the entire process.
For one of the other services (won't specifcy names) - their writer wasn't even based in US, and I can tell right from the getgo that the resume wasn't going to be great. Load and behold, I was right and the resume I got was something worse than what I could write myself.
I guess bottomline is, you can sort of tell off the bat whether the service you go with will end up being a flop or a score.
I was really disappointed with my experience. It took a week after paying and filling out the survey to get a response, the site says three days. It was a 20 minute phone discussion where I spent most of the time explaining key words in my field and what they mean. The two page resume that I provided was pretty much just rehashed into one page and took out all of the what I would consider meat. Completely deleted all of my patents, professional associations, and medical devices that have been approved by the FDA. It consisted of job history and keywords. The job history the writer didn't even pay attention too. I have 15 or so years of experience, but my resume only has the last 11. I explained that to the writer and got back a cover letter that says I only have 11 years of experience. The LinkedIn profile writing was a copy and paste of my cover letter, which was a rehash of my previous job experience verbatim. After 1 month, we are 0/25 on responses. Maybe worth 100$ to rewrite your existing resume into a new style, but nothing was based on any relevant articles I could find on resume writing.
I had a really pleasant time talking with my writer about the ins and outs of my resume and what should be done to improve it. I don't like how their customer support is hard to reach by phone, but besides that, everything else was really solid and I have no real other complaints.
Special thanks to Katherine for working with me throughout this whole process and answering all the questions I had in regards to my resume and LinkedIn.
After a few back and forth emails with my writer and a promise of a rough draft, I've never heard back from the company. I made multiple attempts at messaging my resume writer and the company, and I've never received a reply or even a rough draft of a resume. I am currently having to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Awful.
The service isn't bad, but they scam you. They only charge you about $2, but then they suddenly start charging $25/month. When I try to cancel it, they let me but drive me crazy with offers 1st, so I shouldn't cancel it.
I went with ResumeGo cause of their great reviews and they did not disappoint. I do feel like the cover letter could have been better though and didn't feel as personalized as it should have been.
I read about their resume research in an online WSJ article talking about work gaps. I haven't bee on the market for a couple years due to my health problems so thought I'd get professional help to see if they can set me in the right direction.
ResumeGo and their writer helped me get my whole career back on track by writing me an amazing resume that addresses all the concerns I have with my own career and its trajectory.
100/100 - definitely well worth the wait
I went with ResumeGo because of a Forbes article I read that covered one of their studies. There were other services that also had good reviews, but none of them seemed to have any mentions anywhere online.
The writer I was assigned was definitely very qualified to handle my case. She wasn't in my exact same industry(accounting), but knew the ins and outs with it and had worked with other clients in the past in accounting too. It took her around a week and a half to deliver me all the documents and by the end of it I had no complaints.
While I found significant improvement with my resume, I don't think their LinkedIn and cover letter services were that good. The LinkedIn uses a lot of info from the resume and doesn't add any neew element. The cover letter service is okay, but again - nothing special - something I would likely have been able to write myself.
The resume and cover letter they wrote me was definitely a huge step up from what I had before. I know different writers have different writing abilities, so I can only really speak about the writer I was given - but she truly did a great job with the resume I sent her in the intake form. I was a little worried at first cause she responded outside the 24 hour window - but afterwards everything was smooth sailing and she provided a lot of other advice for me in regards to my job search.
4/5 stars - solid stuff - would have liked more reasoning behind the changes of the writer - final resume was well-written though
My recruiter really helped with my resume and finding out what I had done wrong to cost me the job opportunities I would have had before
Lovely job with my resume and linkedin. I feel like my resume has significiantly improved and I am in much better shape for my job search.
Read about one of their studies on CNBC and chose them due to their rep. From going with their Professional Package, they did a very solid job and I'm happy with what I got as my new go-to resume
I get a lot of interviews with the loaded experience/ivy education I have so wanted to see if a pro resume can do even better. Turns out it does help - so props to ResumeGo and my writaaa.
In all seriousness, my CV writer did a very fine job with my order. Ican tell effort was put in and that he took into consideration the things I was worried about initially during our consultation
RESUMEGO has greatly benefited my resume. It's now far better than it used to be and I appreciate all that my writer has done to make these improvements.
