Sites cost $20,2 night stay comes out to $70 with $30 in fees from Reserve America. We encountered a camper in our spot, they said there's nothing that can done on their end. We had to cancel once and only received about 10% of our total payment. This is an absolute scam and monopoly. It's very sad.
So - we are avid RV campers. We have been in 33 states camping and camp at least 28 weekends a year. We will avoid every single state and park that utilizes Reserve America. We had an accident and we're not able to keep our reservations at 2 Florida state parks. The charge was $24.95 for each cancellation! How is this reasonable or fair! This is more than the cost of one night! When I called to complain, the lady pretty much told me "too bad, it's or policy and you consent to paying that fee at reservation time. :)
As of their new site update I can't access the site through the Safari browser. If I go in through Google I'm fine. Also the campground map for available sites is no longer the same. Did want show what's available on chosen dates.
Worst update I have seen! It's terrible!
Been to two state parks in NY for 2021 ( Rollins Pond and Buck Pond in northern NY) and thought our reservations were quite early in the season. As we attempted to locate multiple sites we noticed how booked the campsites were. During both of our trips that campsites were more than 50% empty with very few filling in the following night. Now it was nice having less traffic, it wasn't nice seeing sites get "booked" and continue to be vacant for that time. Others have also noticed this trend of "Booked" but Vacant sites. What is going on and who is responsible and what is Reserve America doing about it? Do we call Reserve America to confirm a site was "booked" or the Camp ground we plan to visit?
I've used them for the past 5 years and never had a problem with them. I've also never had to cancel.
Rude, ripped off by being 20 minutes past 24 hr deadline to cancel waiting trying to get through took 4 calls after being disconnected. Charged $9, guy was very rude.
Colorado can do better than this horrible rated company!
These people are pure evil. I'm a software architect, and I'm pretty good. I could spin up an application that did the same thing better, by myself, including all necessary data hooks and transformations within 6 months from the ground up. Now some fat, corporate middle-man, who got this contract because he knew someone and the bid was tailored to his company is sitting back and getting fatter off good people making use of the best thing this country has ever done. Burn it to the ground. This corruption is everywhere. You should be freaking MAD.
After 2 hours on the phone with them simply reserving a campsite, they lost my reservation in the ridiculously long process. Then rented it out from under me trying to recover it and had no other options available. I basically wasted 2 hours of my life for nothing.
I think this company might be the worst one I've dealt with. I just called to cancel a partial reservation and it took 3 different people lying about a policy before I was able to make the changes. All 3 reps were rude and condescending - thankful that Oregon State Parks are finally getting rid of these clowns.
Tried making a reservation using their site, long lag and nothing seemed to actually go to the next step unless you hit refresh each time. Really! I tried calling their 800 number and that was as useless as the website, was on hold for over 30 minutes with the automated message telling me I was the nest in line... 8 times? I ended up hanging up. I finally got the reservation done but even then it took like 5-10 minutes to even get a confirmation email. Any and all state parks in the USA should fire this piece of crap website. Totally frustrating and useless!
This may very well be the worst website on the Internet. It never improves. Obviously they never test it because nothing on it works properly. It is extremely difficult to understand and for some bizarre reason, Nebraska State Recreation areas force customers to use it. Every time I have to use it I am ready to pull my hair out. The maps make little sense if they even exist. The buttons don't work. The help feature offers no particular useful advice. We have given up multiple camping trips simply because it was impossible to use this site. Aggravating, infuriating, and why? Fix the site!
I booked a campsite through the website at Shelter Cove in Oregon. The picture of the campsite was not real. Maybe one of the campsites looked like that, but not the one I booked EVEN THOUGH THAT WAS THE PICTURE SHOWN! Instead, we got a spot with 6' between us and our neighbors on both side. Not happy with this invalid information.
I booked 2 days at a sc state park for $81.00. I had to cancel 6 days before and was charged $42.00! The government has given Reserve America full power to screw the American people, what else is new!
Such a scam. I purchased parking passes, with no date. After you make the purchase, they tell you it's only good for that day. Then you're suppose to be able to change it but NO, you can't do that, it's GA parks policy. They don't answer their texts or phones. The chat was worthless, somehow they couldn't find my order but took my money. I had an order number but the chat contact said they just couldn't find it and there was nothing they could do. I know I'm responsible and need to look at reviews for ALL my online purchases from now on.
What kind of reservation company asks you for your equipment type and length, then gives you options for 2 sites, and after booking the sites and reading the fine print, realize they rented you a site 13' too short! Then, refuses to give you your money back? This is ridiculous! I don't know how many states they are in, but it's no wonder no one wants to go to New York!
It was a waste of time to try to cancel a reservation or change it. Reserve America makes finding a contact number really difficult. Not at all worth it. I will not camp in a Florida state forest site because these jokers are worthless. Find a private place to camp. Avoid reserve America like the plague.
Reserve America is a group of thugs and thieves, credit card scam artists that are easily researched on line. They are affiliated with match.com and other rulers of high margin online systems. The root of the problem is that their membership plans, fake plans existing only for the purpose of hitting your credit card, are so profitable and successful to the gov employees and powers that be (by bribes in multiple forms) they have become an incurable cancer.
This website is extremely difficult to use. There is NOTHING easy about using it. After several attempts I finally got a reservation to go through but later found out it was in the wrong camp area. It took me two hours of telephone time to finally talk to a person to change it. And of course there was a $5 charge for simply changing the camping area. I don't know if there is a way to make a reservation At an Indiana State Campground. Without going through Reserve America. They must have gotten the low bid and you get what you pay for plus an opportunity to be ripped off. I would have given it no stars if I could.
What's the point of this booking site Reserve America? I was closely monitoring a campsite in a campground I favor and in milliseconds the campsite went from not available to booked for two weeks. After a career in computers I know perfectly well that people out there are using computer programs to launch inquiries that can grab a reservation in milliseconds.
How does the average Joe compete with this. Better question is... of what use is Reserve American to us?
Only one star because I can't leave anything lower. Impossible to navigate, can't make more than one reservation under one name, denied every card I have even though I used my primary one earlier. Tried updating my address 3 times, no go, even though it says update successful. Your site makes me want to give up camping altogether.
Answer: No site says 7$ but it's actually whatever they want to charge mine was 15$. And when you ask about it they just hang up on you.
ReserveAmerica has a rating of 1.3 stars from 109 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with ReserveAmerica most frequently mention state parks, cancellation fee and credit card. ReserveAmerica ranks 43rd among Camping sites.
