For as much as we pay, which is ridiculous, we've been asking for a new can since May because ours is broken due to their trucks. We've been told a supervisor will call 4 times and one finally called today. Two weeks ago they drove by with new cans but it was 11 am and the trash hadn't been picked up so we didn't get one and they dropped us from the queue to get one last week. Two weeks prior to that they put a new lid on the broken garbage can (broken on the bottom due to being squeezed by the trucks then slammed/dropped on the ground), I'm guessing thinking we'd think it was a new can. Now they're out of new cans so we MIGHT get a power washed one. If you can choose any place else to get waste services from, choose them, because this place doesn't care if they break your cans, doesn't return your calls, and apparently think if they put a new lid on a broken can we're dumb enough to think the entire can is new.

No accountability

They are consistently late. As in up to a week. Late in pickups. Their customer service provides lip service at best and rude arguing at worst. The drivers themselves, when they show up, are neat and clean.

Over the years, rates have increased and service frequency and accountability have decreased.

They've raised our rates regularly since they bought out our former trash service. But they raised it another 59.00, calling it a fuel recovery charge.

Had they raised it another 20.00, I probably wouldn't be here. But there is no way it's costing them 59.00 just to pick up my trash. This is greed. And I'm done.

On a scale from 1 to 10 I would have to give them a solid negative 213. I haven't seen the requirements to become an employee, but I know you have to be lazy as F#@%, and a pathological liar. If you want your trash to sit at the end of your driveway and not get picked up, then this is the most qualified company to do that job for you. Throw your money out the window when your driving down the road, you'll get more use out of it. Sincerely J. J.

We use Republic Services, and over the years I've repeatedly asked this company to step up their recylce pickup to one time per week as we typically have more recyclables than regular garbage. It's more important now than ever before to recycle vs. fill the world with more and more trash.

I just cancelled my services with Republic Services, they gouge the customers and my rates have gone up every billing period since November 2020. The last billing period it went up over 25.29% and since the beginning of 2021 it's gone up 67.8345%. I called a competitor and got a much better price, contacted Republic and they can pick up the containers but I will be billed until the end of August. Today is August 2nd. I WOULD NOT recommend anyone use this company!

Half our township hasn't had their trash picked up. Some for weeks. There are strikes affecting 50 cities because even the employees hate this company. And Republic is the second largest trash company in the country. What happened to free market giving better products and services? This is why regulations happen. Because corporations like Republic services don't do what they've taken tax payers dollars to do. Republic sucks. Jon Vander Ark should be dumping cans instead of screwing customers. Hope you choke on your $4 million salary.

On July 28,2022. This company stole our trash can. It is clearly on our camera. I called trying to resolve the situation and supervisor Michael told me there qas notjing he could do and our can was not made for their trucks arms. Which is a lie because we have had the same can model for ovwr 4 ywars. I just pirchased & replaced can within last 6 months since they broke the handle on our other one. So our can has worked perfeclty until their employee was not paying attention and the can stayed in they truck. I did not pay 140.00 for them to steal our can. They will not reimburse me. I have filed a police report. THEIR CHARGES CONTINUE TO RISE EVERY 3 MONTHS. WHAT STARTED AT 65 EVERY 3 IS NOW OVER 100. I am canceling their service and as far as i am concerned their recycle can will remain my property until this matter is handled in court.

Never pick up yard waste

You ask for 136.00, plus drop off fee in April, yet you have missed every pick up except 4 of weekly.
Every week its a delay a day, then no show, then this week a delay for a week. I am not buying waste bags or taking the waste to a center. I paid you to pick up the waste!
Horrible service.

I've never filled out a review before, but this company is the absolute worst! I called 3 weeks ago to set up service, I'm told its all set up and cans will be delivered next week on the regular scheduled day (Tuesday). I received a call the next Monday, I had a past balance on a previous account from 3+ years ago at a previous address. I pay that past balance and pay another $123 to start service at my new address which included first months and can delivery fee, etc. I'm told now that since its Monday there is no way they can deliver my cans that week and I would receive them next Tuesday. This week Tuesday comes and no cans... I call them again and talked to a supervisor. Apparently my account was never set up and some how the agent last week reinstated service at my previous address that I haven't lived at in 3+ years... Now I'm told my $123 is sitting as a credit on that old account/address and in 3-4 weeks I can call for a refund... Apparently today they are setting up my new account at my new address and once again I'm told I'll get my cans next week... they refused to bring them any sooner... Let's see what happens next week... in the mean time its 100 degrees and I have trash piled up for several weeks. Praying I get cans next week!

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! FEES, FEES, FEES! Billing Nightmares! Autopay NEVER WORKS! (They will try to blame you for it not working even if you have every one of your other reoccurring bills for other companies setup without issue). Continuous Billing Issues and Late Fees Before Bills are ever due.
If you discontinue service you get more bills and late fees for 10yr old, beat up Santek Container removal. $32.67 + $5.00 LATE FEE BEFORE YOU EVER SEE THE BILL AS OF 7/2022.

DO YOURSELF A HUGE FAVOR... DON'T BELIEVE the BBB Rating of A+.
READ THE LONG, LONG, LONG LIST OF COMPLAINTS.

Poor Customer Service

We switched to Republic from our former service because they quoted a lower yearly price. They told us we could go to the Stevensville facility to pick up our can. A few weeks later we received a bill for more. They also told us we cannot pick up our own can and that it would be $55 to deliver it. We immediately asked for our money back. No one knows their left hand from their right over there. And we wasted almost 2 hours on the phone. Don't even consider them. Paying a little more with a different company who is honest is worth it.

In the last 4 years the company has gone downhill. Our dumpster is CONSTANTLY left unlocked and we were told that this would be resolved. It was not and they charged us $1200 over a 2 month period for their mistake. We cannot get a bill sent and they will constantly tell you (if they bother to return a call or answer the phone) that it is still your fault (somehow) and these charges will not be removed. They are a SCAM company. We have been with the company for over 19 years and these last 4 have been horrendous. DO NOT START service with them. They will overcharge and scam you every step of the way. BTW... don't bother to reply as you do to every review (as they are ALL bad)... We would like the opportunity to investigate your feedback further. Please private message the service address and contact information... we are not interested.

I CALLED AND CALLED TRYING TO GET AN ANSWER AS TO WHY MY BILL WENT UP 49% WHEN THEY SAID THEY WERE ADDING A 16% FUEL RECOVERY CHARGE. THEY WOULD NOT RETURN ANY MESSAGES. I FINALLY SWITCHED COMPANIES AND SENT THEM A LETTER WITH A FINAL PAYMENT AND THEN THEY CALLED TELLING MY HUSBAND THAT WE CAN JUST PAY OUR REGULAR AMOUNT. TOO LITTLE TOO LATE! NOW, THEY ARE BILLING ME OVER $45 FOR A FEE TO PICK UP THEIR CONTAINER PLUS AN ADDITIONAL FEE FOR FUEL ROCOVERY! THEY ARE THREATENING ME WITH COLLECTIONS SINCE I REFUSE TO PAY IT. I TRIED EXPLAINING THAT MY HUSBAND HAD HIS LEG AMPUTATED AND HAS NOT WORKED IN ALMOST A YEAR... THEY DON'T CARE!

Horrible service. I signed up for service three weeks ago and they have missed my pick up SEVEN times. How is that even possible? My trash has sat out infront of my house almost continuously since I began service.

I have called and left 3 voicemails (because after waiting on hold for 45+ minutes they hung up on me) and 3 emails. No answer.

I will be switching service.

Update 07/15: after two more voicemails and messages I called their corporate number, which was zero help. The only "help" the offered was to call the local number. Just spent 90 mins on hold for them to hang up on me. I guess the only way to cancel with this predatory business is to show up to their office.

Santa Ana CA switched to Republic as of 12 days ago. So far, I have not had my commercial dumpster emptied once. I have called multiple times, and have been told "you are scheduled for tomorrow.' Tomorrow comes, no trash pickup. I have been told "I just put in a special request, you will definitely get picked up." No pickup comes.

My office is in a large commercial complex. A republic trash truck has, as of yet, never been here to pick up. Meanwhile, I have to leave my dumpster unlocked for them in case they pick up. I have homeless people digging in it, other businesses piling trash into it.

Ridiculous.

Been with Republic for over 3 years. Talking to URSULA, one of their OKC managers - Ive had resolved issues for over 14 months with

1. Bad communication - Long hold time and never reach a manager who can properly remove my billing errors.
2. Very regular missed trash pickup resulting in $88 overage charge ( told by the customer service mange that it can be charged if the lid is open because of one piece of cardboard lifting the lid)
3. Contracts that do not protect the customer - Only protect the account manager ( a person you can never reach)
4. I got over charged for 15 months on a missed pickup up of the old container at an office location I sold) I was told by the customer service that it was never picked up - the new owner said he had the same exact problem with Republic so he told them to pick up the container which they never did - its still there to this day charging my credit card)
5. They can only credit back 3 months of the overcharge ( apparently according to my fine print on the contract)
6. On hold systems kept me on hold for over 30 minutes each time regularly - especially when you select "billing questions)

Honestly, this seems like another corporate ran machine that thrives on tricking people into getting into contracts. Im going to work with a local small business that has open top trash cans and better customer service without a contract.

Poorest customer service from phone to driver. Trash sat out for a week Tuesday July 7-11; 2-3 calls per day inquiring when it would be picked up. Each time I called I was told they would return the following day.
Driver came a week later July 11; picked up canister but not the bag sitting in front. We had no place to put current trash. He pulled off. I followed and asked for an explanation.
Robert #2380 said he didn't get notice to come back last week; they don't get trash not in dumpster. "I don't know what to tell you".
I have never had this from any trash co. HORRIBLE!
