Bad Customer Servicr

They took to long to send the money so I called because you can cancel the transaction as long as it wasn't transmitted yet. Then I get a message that the transaction was completed. They lie to you and the receipt says I can get my money back and they didn't give it back

Remitly is a great service, I always use it from North America to Asia but the only down part is Remitly Rate of Exchange. Even If you send 500 dollars only, remitly makes 45 dollars from Rate of Exchange. But on the other hand Western Union is a complete rip of. They not only make from ROE but also from service fee. Now if you remit 1000 dollars, Remitly makes 90 dollars In other words 9% of your total Remitly amount. It is recommended to transfer minimum. The more the amount, the more profit Remitly makes.

I was trying to send money to my grandmother. My account was on hold because they wanted verification. I sent it the same day. The next day I receive an email saying that my account was close. When I called customer service to ask why they close my account, they said that they could not provide any information why they close my account. Why are you going to cancel someones account without a reason. They did not wanted me to talk to a supervisor either because they were "busy".

I did send money to my wife on Saturday early morning at 1.30am and till 5pm my wife still not received the money. When ask the duty call centre what was being told is the bank on the others site is closed on Saturday and Sunday.Don't tell me the bank got no duty officer during the week end cause i work for the bank also. Service Call also mention they only able to send email to to the other party and not direct call due to sop. What type of urgency is this. Sending email waiting till monday for people to read. Can you people do more professional way of doing work. When customer need urgency got to wait 3 days?

It's a merry-go-round

How blessed I am that my application failed to get through. They took my e-mail and password and asked me to register and create a profile. I did. Then they wanted to know the currency I was buying to send. Then I was asked to get started. When I clicked to get started, they asked for my e-mail and password. I supplied the information. I was asked to sign in. I tried, but they did not recognize the information I had supplied. So I they asked for my e-mail and password which I supplied. Again, they did not recognize even my e-mail. I was requested to put in my e-mail and password, I did, and the merry-go-round pursued. After turning round and round in circles for 2 hours and 52 minutes, I suspected that there must be something wrong here. So I decided to read the reviews on Remitly. What! Really! How blessed I am that I failed to join. This is the first time in my life that I really rejoice over a failure. Good ridance Remitly.

WORST WORST WORS

I have no words to explain their unprofessionalism and miscommunication. This is one of the worst service I have ever used. I have raised a concern with them on 12th Oct which is still not resolved and I still not received my money back. Every time i ring representative tell me the same S...t story.
I will never recommend it to anyone.

They took my money
March 3, 2022

I sent money to a friend in Russia and they delivered, then I sent money to my account in Brazil and after that they closed my account and did not refund my US$100. They did not even explain to me why they canceled my account and why they kept my money. If you want to send money anywhere use MoneyGram is fast and secure. This application is not something you can trust.

Worst service ever
August 7, 2019

Please don't use I was Interrogated for trying to send $100 to a photographer in Mexico for my daughters wedding. I had to send 2 pictures of me holding my ID Many questions like I was a criminal and then i was denied worst worst experience ever i understand about security measures but picsturea of me that was extreme then denied. Worst part no reason no real reason for it.

Remitly is fraud!

They cancel the transaction after they took my $1,000 in my account! They said to wait 48 hours before they send back my money on my account. But after 48 hours I still didn't recieve my money! I call the bank many times, I call remitly many times! My $1,000 is gone!

After using the company for 10yrs to transfer money from usa to loved ones in the phils who are desperately poor the company says they notice suspicious activity on my account and cancel the whole account and wont let me send them anymore help what a cruel bunch of incometent ppl scary to think these ppl are in charge of money

You are guilty until verified innocent! 3 transfers to Mexico, 2 times provided bank statement. Asked some ridiculous questions I assume are for anti money laundering or fraud idk but after all that I awake to my transfer being canceled and account locked for 'suspicious activity' thanks to covid literally no way to contact them. I guess you can't answer emails or calls from home? Total of 3 transfers was 2100 no were near their alleged sending limit, wtf? They need to reconsider their business model, they project their own shady dealings onto you. The entire purpose for this business is considered a red flag for suspicious activity according to a Google search. If security is so important they need to rebuild the service from ground up to 100% verify you before you can hit authorize save us the stress

I do not have a Remitly acct., but noticed that several hundred dollars were withdrawn from my bank account. I called the bank and opened a fraud case, then contacted Remitly to give them the transaction numbers and date of the transactions. They literally told me that I should deal with my bank, and they will not look into the situation and don't even want the transaction numbers because I don't have A Remitly account, and they will not look into it at all. Rude, and absolute thiefs.

Because money is tight I was looking for a cheaper company than western union. I compared using chat gpt and found that Remitly offered what appeared to be a better deal. I looked on their website and it said my friend could send us 7million UGX (around 2,000 usd). The money was taken out of my friends account but then the payment was rejected because in fact you can only send 5 million ugx. We tried calling customer service three times but they gave different responses and were very unprofessional. They canceled the transaction but said the money wouldn't be returned for 7 to 10 business days, putting us in a very bad situation. From the other reviews on this site it looks like the money might not be returned at all much less in 7 to 10 days. I'm surprised this company is based in the US. I think they would be more at home here in Uganda.

I tried sending $2999. 00 maximum amount they would allowed me to send not only they cancelled my transaction because of "suspicious activity" but now they have a hold on my bank account for $2999. I am so furious! They made me fill out questions and send them copies of my bank statement, only so they can cancel my transaction either way. Such a waste of time and huge inconvenience of now having to wait for my own money to be released while im in another country with a disabled child. Its absolutely ridiculous! Dont use this company save yourself the frustration. I checked them out yesterday and it said they had a 4.6 rating but now i see others have them at 1.7 because of their horrible customer service. Also i waited 2 hours to speak to a service representative another waste of time. Finally i wrote them an email this morning and got an automated response that they are too busy and can not reply back to emails, so unacceptable. They are Unreliable, irresponsible, inconsiderate and should not be trusted with your money, specially during these difficult times. Once i get back home I will be reporting them to better business bureau.

Done with them! They have locked my accounts 2x and when I made the 3rd one they said I can't do transaction with them anymore because I did something that's against their rules. Wtf! I just used my accounts from when I am in the country or out of the country and they locked my account because my location was not the same and said I should inform them ahead before using it out of the country. Lol! I swear you won't go far as what you are now!

I tried to send money to my friend in Kenya. I had zero luck. It is easy enought for them to take your money out of the bank immediately but impossible to get it back. They were not able to transfer money to a friend I have been sending money through for months. I tried Remity as I was at my limits on Sendwave. I tried to send $500 usd to my friend on 10/21/. 2020 and three days later she had yet to receive it. I called to cancel on 10/24/2020. No results came from that call. Today, 11/2/2020 I called again to cancel. Now they said it will take 10 days to get my money back. Lets see if this time is happens. Pathetic.

I was using it for the first time. And the amount was also not so big. And I verified it.

I used regularly without any problems for ages
Then they suspended my account without any warning or explanation
I read their guidelines and policies and could not see any reason for suspension?
I had not done anything supsicious or illegal?
I had however helped many people to buy food because they could not work during covid?
Excuse me for being a Christian and wanting to help people?
I have sought for 5 days to get some kind of explanation but they will not give me one
I said i had to send money to my fiancée urgently but they still would not reply to me
Thankfully I found a reputable company that was able to help me.
I still sought an explanation but they refuse to give me one
This is the most appalling customer service I have ever witnessed in my life
