Service is great pre-sign-up, they disappear afterwards. Poor communication, but billing works! I've waited 2 weeks for a response, nothing. They didn't start on time, but ended on time. Crazy.
I don't do this often, but thought it was appropriate to let everyone know my experience.
Real Estate Webmasters
Is BY FAR the worst real estate website company to work with. All they care about it money and their bottom line. They have no respect for anybody's company and they will nickel and dime you to death. Every-time you talk to someone they will charge you. Every little thing is a charge. Oh and if you want to change something, it takes weeks. Their customer service is awful and they really only care about making money Horrible company with horrible business practices. STAY AWAY!
REW is no doubt very good but ine must realize custom work is exoensive to get performance at optimum. You pay as if you "own" the site but it's really leased. So if you say hey create a website but once complete ask hem turn over all raw code "that ain't happening" meaning you can spend thousands and basically if you decided to have changes made outside of the structure REW you cannot and pay inflated dollars on programmers that would similarly do the same as an outside firm and return the code back to you. So in essence your paying to improve their website along with any unique idea that came with the request you make in what you assume is yours. You can send the thousands of investment out the door if you don't pay their price. Never spend your investment in which you don't have total control over. Short term it may suffice or seem simple but long tern it can have grave consequences. They can essentially sell you idea to your entire competition and I seen in certain instances have.
Always going down with every upload or just to much traffic
And consistency like basic I know for a fact that they are outsourcing to places like India where English is their second language as a website developer hired to fix all of this basic grammar like a, the, this, that, there, in, on to full-blown typos all over every page
I would suggest finding someone like me that can put you on major cms that has constant support and if you're not happy with a developer it's not hard to find someone proficient in said cms
Whereas with rew being somewhat HTML certain HTML elements just won't work including sliders and all sorts of things like sliders and little parts of HTML code that I can get working on all other cms I work on I checked
Just don't do it they are a bunch of scammers paying Indians $5 an hour to do the work and then charge you $100 per hour
I invested in having my sites custom programmed for several years so I am experienced with websites and understand the difficulty with idx, seo, etc. I am presently with REW and have good lead generation which is the most important thing. That said, they really are focused on making money vs. amazing sites. The SEO guy was so nice, but I found errors on the H tags on my front page, the blog had no search, seriously and to get them to add a search function to my blog it was $1700. So really look at the template and get them to get you on a live site before you pick one. If it isn't in the template you will pay for it, even if it should be there. They have excellent support though, I can call and they will walk you through any help you need. Customizations are very very expensive and are poorly managed however.
We're a real estate team that also runs a media company. Youtube, newsletters, etc. I was lookin for a company that had a good CRM and CRUSHED SEO. I tried so many sites that failed to deliver. REW made it happen. 3 months after the move and our traffic is through the roof. Our PPC cost per lead is also down over 50%. I attribute it to the user experience and stickiness of the site. Stoked to be a client. - Ken Pozek
Our team continues to be impressed by the product and quality of support provided by Real Estate Webmasters. REW has worked with us through countless customizations, and has created a beautiful site that is perfect for our brokerage. Aside from the design, the support team is knowledgable + easy to reach, and our amazing account manager is always available + willing to assist. We look forward to seeing what REW comes up with next!
WoW some crazy people on here LOL. REW is by far the cream of the crop! I have used many others and had NO where near the results! I would actually prefer if less people used them as it helps my business even more without real competition!
Real Estate Webmasters is by far the industry leader in real estate websites and technology. 10 years in the business and one of Canada's top companies. The reviews I have seen on this website are from competitors trying to put down a good company - NOT COOL! Be sure to take reviews like that with a grain of salt - if you want real reviews of a company, call their customers, ask around on facebook - don't follow anonymous bash comments.
More money, more money, more money, long time to deliver work. They didnt advise me that the customer work they were all to happy to charge me for was hurting my SEO. Note effective at generating leads. No one will return your calls very poor communication.
Extortionistic business practices. They will violate your contract at will - charge you what they want to charge you, do what they want to do and you will pay the price! Use another web company - you have been warned!
This is probably the worst web development company I have ever had to deal with. Their customer service is ridiculous. I have spent hours communicating with an account manager who only offers tutorials, tells me to re-design an ugly, poorly navigated website that looks like it was designed by a child (who could probably do better) from the back end, which is not intuitive and includes minimal choices. The IDX links are broken, the maps don't work, they refuse to offer a designer to help, they want to upcharge. Their contracts are for 36 months, which can't be broken, only upgraded and re-started. I rue the day my boss signed up with them. Their CRM and search function work, that's the only good thing, but that could have easily been integrated into another website that looks good. I wouldn't spend one more dollar with this company and will have an attorney review the contract to see how quickly we can get out of this one. It's worth the money for the attorney to no longer have to do business with them. As you can tell I'm horribly frustrated by the lack of customer service and willingness to make things right. I'm too embarrased to share our website URL, because it's a website that is embarrasing. This is a more than UGH review, it's a "I'm thoroughly disgusted review".
The sales people are your best friends until you actually buy the site... Over promise and under deliver is the key to their business model. They charge you THOUSANDS for simple coding / copy and pasting from other templates. I was a programmer so it's sickening to not have access to the backend. We're already so far in the hole with this company that we're keeping it, but it's horrible. Months to literally COPY and PASTE code. The only thing positive is the support line but they consider BASIC FUNCTIONS custom work. It's a scam.
They are rude and it's like pulling teeth even to PAY THEM or to get upgrades. IE. Just took FOUR WEEKS to order custom work that's going to take 6-8 WEEKS TO IMPLEMENT which they will charge $2,000 to COPY AND PASTE CODE from other sites! It'd be easier to do a site build from the ground up!
If you're going to spend this much might as well go to a real all inclusive site like Gabriele's.
We wasted $$$$Thousands$$$$ with this company building our website then they charge you $199 month for maintanance as well as $10 month per agent to have an agent site linked... steap price for hosting we thought but the site looked professional. NOW THEY ARE RAISING THE MONTHLY HOSTING FEE TO $499 PER MONTH AFTER WE BUILD THE SITE? DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS, WE WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!
They raise prices and dont offer good service worst web providers we have used. Dont use they peiple if you have any other source
Real Estate Webmasters is hands down the best investment I've made in my real estate business. The service is top notch and I've quadrupled my traffic and increased my leads 1000 percent.
Used this for 2 years without ANY business to show for it.
Was SCAMMED out of $******* by this company for an ugly site and nonexistent customer service.
I had my site with REW for over 6 years... spending thousands on customizations and upgrades over the years. I was mostly happy until last year.
In early 2017 I spent $7,500 on SEO optimization - which mildly increased my traffic, yet somehow managed to result in LESS leads. A few months later our local MLS system changed and REW took almost a solid month to make the transition to the new MLS (during which no REW client in CT had IDX). Support was mostly unresponsive during this time that we spent pleading to get our services up and running, and of course in the end * pointed the finger, unapologetically refusing to take responsibility for the slow reaction.
It was just a few weeks later REW announced that they would be dropping all clients that were not paying a minimum of $500/month requiring quintupling my fees (for no additional benefits).
Now, I was used to getting nickel and dimed by REW for every last little thing, but this was outrageous. At first I tried to reason with my REW rep, to no avail. I considered agreeing to the fee, if only to avoid the monumental task of moving my website (hundreds of pages of custom content)... but in the end I decided to cut my losses and leave REW. Not only was the fee unjustified, but REW's treatment of its entire client base with this move was truly offensive and intolerable.
It took me the next few months to rebuild my site... a wordpress site I now own... and it was worth every moment. I only wish I had left REW years sooner, and I am sorry for ever referring any others to them.
To anyone considering REW - Beware!

Virginia did an awesome job addressing my website issues. Quick to reply and most importantly addressed the issue even faster.
Answer: Hi Mindy! REW sites typically start around $5k for a technology suite (website, CRM, app) that is powerful and effective right "out of the box". There isn't much work you'll need to do to get any one of our sites ready to go live, and our Support team is always available to help walk you through the steps. If you prefer a hands off approach to your website, you are welcome to purchase SEO services to take care of the content and setup for you. The monthly SaaS pricing depends on your hosting level and the number of users you'll have, so it does vary by individual and team size. Since you do have questions, I recommend getting in touch with your product consultant directly; he or she will be happy to send you an itemized breakdown of your quote and what it includes, and also discuss ROI systems that will help ensure your website pays for itself and makes you extra money!
Answer: Agent locator is the company I went with, I own the 2 star review above and left them after 1.5 years to agent locator. Flexible, won't charge you an arm and a leg, modification costs are reasonable, easy to modify html backend website.

Hi Timothy,
Thanks for sharing your feedback!
You’re right that REW retains proprietary control over the websites we create, but there’s a solid reason for this. We have dedicated hundreds of thousands of R&D hours into developing tools and features that we’ve jam-packed into every one of our sites, like our CRM and CMS. We’ve invested literal Millions into developing the best real estate website platform in the world, and we’d be out of business very quickly if we let people appropriate our core code.
The programming hours you’ve mentioned are for customizations—little tweaks our clients can choose to make to the site to make it more “their own”. These are entirely optional, and aren’t required to have a phenomenal website. In fact, for clients with budget limitations, we recommend not customizing sites, as it ensures all our newest features can be implemented at the lowest cost possible (usually free).
When it comes to developing brand new features, we listen to our community. We have a very active and vocal group of real estate agents who tell us what they want to see in their websites. If one person has an idea, chances are dozens of others have thought of the same thing. We discuss these ideas at our REW Summits, on Facebook, and with anyone who wants to brainstorm on the phone. If we hear the same request over and over, we might eventually develop it (independently of our client projects) and add it to our code base.
I hope this helps clarify some of the reasons behind how we do business. If you have any questions or comments in the future, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You know where to find us!
Thanks again for sharing with us,
Melissa
