Definitely not a good site at the time of this writing, and seems like it hasn't been that way since long. If people are coming here to seek knowledge, buyers beware, I don't think you'll get much of that. Some trivias and insights here and there but you'll get lost in the sea of garbage pretty quick. I think Quora doesn't realize that its value directly comes from quality of contributors, so if you don't even get that right the site is doomed to fail. Or maybe they just don't care. *shrugs*

Anyway, if people are here to seek entertainment, you're up to a good start. Reading through some obnoxious twats writing these long theses on issues no one cares about could be funny for a minute or two, but word of warning you might want to do that near a loo because there is a chance you'll puke your breakfast out on the third minute or fourth.

It's also entertaining to see folks worshiping the BNBR rule like it's a real deal. Don't people realize BNBR rule is complete and utter bollocks? It's just a different way of saying political correctness. I could think of your typical scummy Euro politician who will easily went through that filter without even trying. Let that sink in for a moment. This makes the site completely worthless as a reliable source of information. When some facts and knowledge can be deemed not nice or not respectful when they're in fact just facts, it defeats the whole purpose of the site. It's utter rubbish.

Islamophobia
April 22, 2019

Today's world has started a new era of racism after the black slavery, called Islamophobia. This insane racism has gone to a point that innocent hard working normal Muslims are being killed worldwide for their beliefs in one God! There are evil things done by people of every religion, race and color but that does not becomes a symbol for the religion, race or color. Otherwise as per historic facts counted, white people, christians and americans would be icons for wars, murders and cruelty. Quora is run by athiest and Islamophobic fanatics. The site has rules against disrespect for any religion but allows generously any hate against Islam. It is because of such sites that terrorists like Brenton Tarrant are formed.
Quora is a site where one imbecile will start a debate on how to hate Islam and other imbeciles will join in with insane hatred or the religion and the Prophets. We can hear donald duck trump speech for that. It is a shame that this site claims to provide answers and yet their policies only encourage more hatred and violence in the world. Hope it gets shut down asap

I received an invitation to join Quora because I answered or commented on an article that was generated from Quora before I had any real information from or about them.
The concept seemed to be sound and productive in its exchange of ideas and thoughts.
I was invited to, "spaces" for my comments on several subjects since I'm just a skin full of opinions and got more invitations to more spaces than I had time for.
Then came the, "Lurkers" from out of the woodwork arguing in the contrary against my opinions regarding subjects that were indeed subjective with arguments that were provably false.
Then came, forgive my snobbishness, what were obviously, "mental midgets" finding fault with my patois which I tend to use to inject some humor and reduce the seriousness in what I'm trying to explain.
Then came the threats of bodily injury by the punk element.
The teen presence was disturbing since most of the administrators were adults according to their profiles.
I didn't exit by way of their format but did leave an explanation for my quitting Quora.
My advice is this: Unless you enjoy being, "corrected" and threatened by pedantic and pedagogical prepubescent punks avoid Quora like the plague!

I used Quora for quite some time. I basically wrote answers based on personal experiences. I had answer views in the millions. One day I logged in and saw there was a message from the Quora moderation (Bots?) team informing me I had violated their BNBR (Be nice, be respectful) policy. I checked my answer that supposedly violated Quora's policy, but I had done nothing wrong. The question was on how long the campaign on an upcoming video game was. I politely replied that the game was not due for release for another month, and the campaign time will vary from person to person. I ended my answer with "I'm looking forward to it myself. Happy gaming!". Really? So that violates the BNBR policy? And as of late, many of Quora's top writers with millions of followers have suddenly had their answers collapsed. Many are speculating that Quora is using it's political bias to quash users who don't meet their political ideology. After a couple of months of quitting Quora, I just received an email from them literally begging me to come back. Nope. I was in the Quora Partner Program and had maybe $40 on my books at Quora, but walked away from it. I didn't join to make money, I joined to share and gain knowledge. The death knell for Quora was the QPP. It encouraged a bunch of kids to make accounts and post literally 1000s of versions of the same question daily to make a few cents (Template questions). It should have been the other way around... pay people for ANSWERING question, not asking! Bye Quora!

They flag me because they don't think my name is real, they flag me because I don't link to what they want me to, they change the ENTIRE questions and answers into what THEY want. It's like one big clique and you had better be posting what they want to see, or the Quora clique will take you down. The guys from SEOMOZ post shtuff and link to things that have nothing to do with what the real answers are, but they must be friends with Quora mods. Lame.

Worst mod team ever, pure garbage.
May 21, 2022

If I could give zero stars that's what Quora deserves. And no it's not a "Liberal biased agenda" that their mod team follows, that's total BS. As someone who is more left based politically I've had more than enough mod decisions made against me for REASONABLE comments. Comments defending against blatant sexists for sexually harassing comments, comments calling attention to Nazi sympathising antisemitic holocaust deniers, and racism. Every single one of my comments have been deleted (and no, I've never used swear words in them so it can't be that) while every single comment of theirs that I've reported for actual hate speech and harassment has been allowed. I've been given the huge impression that the Quora mod team is run by sexist, fascist Nazi sympathisers, because of their extremely ridiculous assertion that MY comments calling attention to antisemitic Nazi propaganda was "hate speech" but not their actual, real antisemitic hate speech. I'm sorry, what? Did I miss some kind of new legislation in the U. N. that neo-Nazis are a marginalised protected people group now? Lol Quora is F*CKED.

To top it all off, one of my comments in question had actually been RESTORED after my appeal for wrong deletion was accepted, but now it's been deleted a second time even though they accepted my appeal and restored it already. Purely garbage inconsistent moderation clearly on a whim (or some dumb algorithm).

I asked a question, Why do you not drink Alcohol? Moderator changed it too, Why do you drink Alcohol? I changed the question back because it was not the question I asked as then the meaning of my question changed.
The moderator changed the question back to what they wanted to see. It became a power play with words so many times on this site. Some questions never showed up, but someone in the management reposted my question as theirs.
In over a month I was blocked 3 times and when I disputed it, I was told I was blocked by mistake and privileges returned, then now I have been deleted from Quora.

After being told they made a mistake 2 days later I was blocked again and told it was a mistake, I did tell them about discrimination practices and blocking me by mistake I lose making money on the partner program they offered me.
Some of the moderators who monitor, don't have their $#*! together in how to deal with workers, who are working to make money and they act like a boss with judgments and offenses must be punished it is a place of power play with words, you can't ask a real question or seek an answer if the moderator doesn't like it or they can say you said the wrong word or they change the meaning and you get blocked for policy they just added in for the day.
I am sure they get people to work for Quora, block and ban them and use the answers people wrote like myself so they can steal and make money from it, In my opinion when money is involved there is corruption as I noticed my questions and answers were controlled on the partner program.

The leftie feminist moderators censor lots of opposing viewpoints on a wide variety of subjects

It may be interesting to read, but unless you're famous, if you spend hours contributing content and challenging other people's views, and you'll find yourself censored into oblivion.

I got banned for criticising Third Wave Feminism, but they censor more than that, such as content for Trump and criticising Islam. When you get banned they don't have to leave your content online with a notice on your profile saying you're banned. They can delete all your content by falsely flagging you as a fake name which deletes all your content. When you get banned a moderator will find something you wrote weeks or months agn and pretend it broke the rules when it never did.

Another thing the staff do is read your private messages and use your answers and messages to plagiarise your answers into a book to be sold on Amazon under the pseudonym Richard Templar.

They used to list all the deleted answers under a topic/category called Needs Attention, but now they made the category hidden. Lots of popular users left Quora years ago to protest then deleted or deactivated their accounts. It's a rubbish place to put your answers. Good people, bad moderators.

They are nothing but bullys. They delete your comments if your not a admin, they have nude pics on there from admins, but if we were to do that we wouldnt be able to. Alot of pedophiles are on there. Alot of little kids. Alot of sexuality explicit stuff.and what you say dont matter it gets deleted. If a admin is wrong and you disagree you get deleted.if you say something nice and they dont like it you get deleted. Alot of false information on there. I pusonly think no 10 yr old should be on there. With what goes on. Not cool! I wanted to help people but because I'm not a top writer or a admin or moderator most my stuff gets deleted or I violated quora policy with one of there $#*!ed ideas. If a admin says the same thing as you do on another topic yours gets deleted. I wasted alot of time on there. I'll be deleting my stuff after seeing they didnt take a nude admin down but deleted my comment about the nude admin. Thank you

Really? It's a blog that moderators collapse great answers, because they don't write a 4 page report on a question stating "do you like the police in your city?) That is dumb. If you put "yes, very much", not enough. The site wants you to use every big words in a four page report, on the subject. Utilizing every means possible to overkill a basic question, by using the biggest words possible to sound like a brilliant bull$#*!ter. It's very biased. Also, this is expected even if "how can I make my girls like me again? Mostly, you don't know if it's a boy, man, or girl. Which dictates your answer, wouldn't you think? There are some great writers there. But, there are some morons, who are high status, that can get away with the dumbest answers. It's a site that is extremely left wing. If you aren't looking for the best answers, but want to see a lot of people wielding huge words so they can get the illusion that they are gurus, go there. Narcissistic city. And the moderators, think they are the most important people in the world, with ten or twenty minions that they love. Quite disappointing.

People said the site has left-leaning biased but since I'm not into politics I can't comment on that. What I can tell you Quora is indeed a terribly biased website when it comes to handling disputes. The moderation is so terrible, I am not even sure you can call it that. I've read somewhere the moderation in Quora is like empowered trolling and honestly I don't think I can argue with that because it is true. You can do no wrong and get the shorter end of the moderation stick and someone who's clearly abusive towards you can get away with bullying you or other users and doxxing their profile to ruin it for them and receive totally no punishment.

Bullying, doxxing and witch hunting is very common but since the site hide some stats like downvotes, it might be difficult to tell if that's being done at all if you are a new comer. But it's not hard to see that vibe if you use the site regularly. I think they could do well if they use new upvote/downvote system like the one Reddit has instead of what they have now. But I don't think they will ever do it and I definitely know why. Doing so will spell disaster to the site's overall credibility because then everyone can see the irregularities being hidden all these times.

August 19, 2021

I got a call on my phone regarding a freelance job from quick jobs. They offered a job in which i have to complete ******* captcha in 8days for this they are paying 22k and for this they conduct a video interview and ask name address and phone number mentioned in resume. And after this they manipulate you with fake guidance and also they make a paper and have to singned it and while signing they will be on call continuously disturbing you to sing in asap and not making you to read it and gave you a wbsite, with id password where you have to complete your work and submit it. But they show the wrong readings. And now they are harassing me to pay 5400rs for not completing the work. But before joing they told me if i was unable to complet the work they will cut my salary in which i was ok. But now they are blackmailing me to pay 5400rs. Dont ever take this calls and immediately complain about these calls.

Quora is toxic
June 16, 2022

The site is massively toxic. Users answer questions rudely. Most of the time users don't actually give you useful answers. The answers people recieve mostly are people trying to make your question seem bad which is annoying. The commenters are insane too. Some users go out of their way to attack someone over a answer. They go as far as commenting on your profile too. You get reported over someone being sensitive over comments. The communities are very insane. I don't advise anyone to join the spaces on quora.
For example the anime community of quora is horrible. You can't have a different opinion from others. They can't take criticism. And they are very sensitive about anime related topics. Some guy got offended by what I said about dragonball he screenshotted my answer and came to my profile talking about my answer. That's how far people go on quora. There are crazy users who are racist, delusional people, and people who pick fights.
Quora is a terrible site that isn't worth your time.

Biased and Racist
April 2, 2022

Quora is unfortunately not a Q and A site as much as it claims - I am currently banned for 'hate speech' because I posted two screenshots of mainstream articles (Yossef diary was even made into a movie) by Teddy Katz and Yossef Nachmani which describe eye witness accounts of Jewish massecres against Palestinian villagers.

I recently reported a Quora space in which far right racists were posting pictures of serious assaults and injuries inflicted on white people and blaming these attacks on African Americans.

After performing reverse image searches every claimed victim turned out to be victims of neighbours, domestic violence and robbery, none of which occurred in the US and none of which were attributed to African Americans.

This space on Quora is instigating hatred against African Americans based on lies and misinformation and could potentially lead to violence against innocent people but Quora took no apparent action instead preferring to ban me for posting some accepted history.

Make of that what you will. Look elsewhere imo.
