Wish I could give it a 0
January 31, 2012

Wish I could give it a 0. They don't tell you that your credit card will be charged $60 before you do anything. I immediately sent e-mail to cancel & they said I would get refund in 7 days but they got MY money as soon as I clicked send. Just waned to look at what they had & not impressed.

After signing up and spending $60 on bids I won two low ticket items quickly. This boosted my confidence in the site but everything went downhill from there. Subsequently I have bid on a number of items and have never won. On many, I was prepared to bid all the way but the clock expired before the auction hit 1 second. I complained to customer service (Mike) who admitted they do not have control of when an auction might end because of "internet lag". I am happy to copy and paste his emails here if anyone is interested. The bottom line is their platform is flawed. The most critical element of their auctions is the clock and, by their own admission, they cannot control the clock outside their internal system. This is tantamount to FRAUD!

When I joined QuiBids, I read all the information provided but especially QuiBids 101. I started bidding on small items while I learned the ropes. It's been over 16 months and I'm now a regular monthly user of QuiBids. I've gotten some of the best deals of my life on QuiBids for purses, luggage, bar stools, etc. I honestly don't understand why some people don't do their homework and then complain about their results. They are missing out on a great site!

It's the old bait and switch. So this is how I think it works: When you initially register with Quibids.com, they encourage you by making it easy for you to win the initial item. After that, you better do your math because you're probably paying full price. Do they have bots on the site? Absolutely. While monitoring a bid, I was able to identify about thirteen of them. They never win; they just keep bidding. Their purpose is to make you spend all your bids. I bid on one of their bid vouchers and found that the total amount I spent (including the processing fee) was equivalent to $59.98. The BUY NOW price was $60.00. What a coincidence! Not so; it's calculated.

Another thing I noticed is that if you're spending your bids on the vouchers, it's almost like converting your real bids to virtual bids which cannot be applied to a BUY NOW purchase. These guys are screwing you over without you knowing; beware!

Even though I did not end up using Qbids, They refunded my credit card the amount of bids 100 within 48 hours. No questions, no excuses. That was really quick and professional. They are legit. This company is not out to scam anyone. They are very professional.

Sure you might be lucky enough to be the one who gets a product for cheap, but there are a lot of other people who don't win. It's easy to forget that for most items you bid on, it costs you a $1.67 to increment the bid by only 1 cent. Your 45 bids for $27 doesn't go very far. Then they suck you into bidding on more bid cards, what a business. Has anyone calculated the profit they are making on each item? Add it up yourself, let's say an iPad sells for $120 on Quibids which would be a great deal for the winner. But it adds up to $120 x 100 cents on the dollar = ******* cents or ******* bids at $1.67 per bid = $20,040 total made on the $120 sale. And the iPad only cost them maybe $900. Holy #&!@# that's $******* in profit, wow, I gotta get into this business.

I used this site today and plan on never returning. If you have a LOT of time on your hands, are antisocial, and take a HUGE amount of pride in getting a deal, maybe it's okay. I bid on two items, somewhat aggressively, and won neither. The upside is that you can apply your bid costs toward the item you were bidding on but lost. But this just encourages people (yourself and the poor souls you are bidding against) to keep bidding.

I ended up purchasing a $200 Walmart gift card, for $200, plus what I lost in the first auction and silly handling charges.

I can't imagine the lives of people who use this site regularly. It's a little depressing...

Professionalism at its best.
July 4, 2016

I had won an auction in which I needed to specify the size that required me changing the information. Contacting Support is not one of my normal actions, but I am so glad I did. The support team responded immediately, and gave me very thorough instructions. It was so easy to follow them, and not intimidating to me at all. It felt good to be successful so easily.

I recommend QuiBids to everyone. They assist you with everything, exhibit patience, and even teach you how to win auctions. Happy Bidding to All.

Price at which ipad is sold to the winner seems very tempting. But be careful if you are bidding and have spent couple of hundred dollars and are thinking of going with buy it now option - Apple iPad 16 GB Wi-Fi price is about $129 higher than the actual retail price.

I started bidding and ended up losing $300 so decided to buy it at listed $629. However, i noticed later that the actual ipad retail price is only $499. Be very careful so that you don't loose money like me.

Quibids 101 does not seem to be accurate. It says:
*The value price is based on the price you would pay through other retailers."
This is not true.

The operators of Quibids are printing money with this site. Is this the new Mafia money machine?
Not enough variety and too many bidders for any one item. You can get lucky and buy something for a penny (just like slot machines) but most people keep bidding and then lose out.
I was following an auction for an Apple Ipad and the price kept climbing to a somewhat high price of $43.00. That might not sound like much but at $0.60 per 1 cent increment, that works out to to over $2,500 dollars for Quibids for a $700 item. As I watch, the price is still climbing.
Every person who bid on this lost money and only one person will win the Ipad.
I feel sorry for those who get caught up in this game.
Can I buy stock in this company? It is more profitable than porn.

Definitely a complete scam... if you watch the ending auctions, the same "people" are bidding over and over again... obviously people are paid to pump up the ending price and suck the money away from regular people.

In addition, all of the "awesome deals" are just nonexistent. Try searching for anything popular... iPhone, LED TV, LCD TV... the listings are all "Buy Now" items. Nothing for auction.

You pay $. 60 per bid, only to be instantly outbid every time until the magic price is reached (so you'll pay hundreds for the item and hundreds for the bidding). PAYING MONEY for permission to buy something? That's a joke.

Save your $60 and put it towards something real, or you'll end up spending hundreds for items you'll never see.

Sorry to hear this has been your impression of QuiBids, John. We are proud to inform you that all practices involving QuiBids are transparent and honest. Below, you may view information pertaining to our auction model:

QuiBids 101

Help Section

http://www.quibids.com/en/help/

Additionally, QuiBids recently passed an independent third-party audit of our integrity and internal controls. The following PDF file explains the audit in full detail: http :// s1. Quibidscdn. Com/documents/QuiBids%20Report%20including%20Management%27s%20Report. Pdf
Let me provide some insight that will help you understand the value in using QuiBids. Each bid costs just $0.60. These bids are pre-paid and placed in your Bids Account. Each time you place a bid, your Bids Account is deducted one bid. Once a bid is placed the auction price will go up in one cent increments. A maximum of 20 seconds is also added to the timer every time someone bids. This gives enough time for someone else to make the decision to bid if they're interested. This is similar to the “Going once... Going twice... SOLD!” approach of traditional auctions.

If you are the top bidder when the timer reaches zero, you win! You will then pay the ending auction price as well as the cost of shipping. If you do not win, you lose your bids that have been placed; however, we offer a "Buy Now" feature on all auctions. When you use our “Buy Now” feature, we subtract the cash value of the bids you’ve placed (excluding voucher bids) from the value price of the item, and you only have to pay the difference.

Let's say you spend 30 bids trying to win a $30 valued product, but you don't win. Your 30 bids are worth $18 (30 x $0.60), so if you choose to use the "Buy Now', you would pay $12 plus shipping for the product. *Please note that this offer applies to real bids only, and that voucher bids to do not apply to the ‘Buy Now’ option. This feature limits the risk in participating in our auctions, as we offer the "Buy Now" feature on all of our auctions!

Answer me this, how is it that bid vouchers that are either tied to an auction win (item + 20 bids for example) or bid vouchers that are auctioned outright (25, 50, 100 ect bid packs) are, during the auction, valued at X amount of dollars, even to purchase with 'buy it now', but when you USE them, they don't count as any value towards a purchase of 'buy it now'. This is inconsistent and perhaps fraud. On the one hand, bid vouchers are 'valued' and cost to purchase, but their redemption value towards hard goods is zero?

Just another convenient way QuiBids takes advantage of people with their site.

Just for those who haven't stopped to think that the organizers of this bidding site haven't thought it out themselves, just take this into consideration. If the item you bid on, a vacuum for example, is sold for $60.00, at. 60 a bid, it brought in $3600. 00, after they pay the $450 (probably less as they by in bulk), they have profited over $3200 on a $450 dollar investment. A comparison would be your gas station buying a gallon of gas for $3.00 and selling it to you for $24. Ya just gotta be savvy when bidding or you will be losing your butt. If you can't afford to take a loss once in awhile, then don't get involved.

Interesting and confusing
July 11, 2015

The first page showing the great prices made me jump right in and join up, pay my money, erc., before I really knew what was what. When I actually read the rules I realized now is not a good time for me to do this. In the future it may be great fun.
If asked I might suggest to those in charge that they mention to newcomers the advantage of reading about it before you spend money. It would save a lot of busy work for everyone. I did ask for a refund, and they were very prompt about doing that. No complaints at all, just a suggestion. ADDENDUM: I just received the comment below. If I missed seeing it, then Quibids cannot be held responsible for my oversight. I am, however, not ready to sign-up again, and my rating stands as it is.

Fun, but use common sense
February 14, 2017

Qbids is probably one of the better penny auction sites but you have to use common sense. For the average person you have to set a budget you are willing to use, since you are in a sense gambling. Watch your competition. The site is riddled with professional bidders that do this for a living, reselling their wins on other sites like ebay or resale stores. I stay away from vouchers, they are worthless, where as real bids are deducted from the "retail" price which is about 20% higher than average at the store or amazon. Gift cards and electronics garner the heaviest competition. Can be great fun. Had some great wins and some loses but used the buy option.

Some of you people are amazing. Sure, Quibids is making a boatload of cash through this business model, but that doesn't equal a scam. Just because they take in over $8,000 for a $1,500 laptop doesn't mean that they didn't do EXACTLY what they said they would (so it's not a scam, by definition).

Is it a waste of money and time? Sure, most of the time. If you win, great for you - I haven't been that lucky. However, their profit margins don't make it a scam. Morons here don't understand basic capitalism.

Fake Users
October 30, 2015

Quibids uses computer bots to increase auction price. Their business model focus on users to lose only. They put products in chose it selection so each auction is actually their complete list of products so when you are bidding on it you are actually facing competition from users who are not necessarily buying that item instead they may be buying something else but bidding right with you to increase the auction price. If this is not enough then they let computer bots bid indefinitely against paying users. Wait if real users are lucky enough to still win then they let one user bid on different products at the same time. Winning a Lotto is easier than this. Finally they have the guts to fake advertise to users about their items being sold for few cents only. I cant wait to see this site go down.
