The live chat folks are polite, quick, knowledgeable, and helpful. They certainly made my experience with Quibids more enjoyable and less frustrating. I'm sure my value score will go up as I learn more about the way the auction works and how to be more successful. I did win 2 auctions today! My first try at this sort of thing!
People, people. I didn't have to visit this website, just read a few of your reviews. Patronising one of these penny auction sites, seems to me, is like playing blackjack in a casino where you have to wear a blindfold and all your cards are on the table. You have no idea whether the dealer is cheating or not. It might be possible for one of these sites to be run honestly, but unless there's some outside regulator watching over them, you have no way to tell. And there is no outside regulator. (There ain't no Federal Auction Administration!)
But if you're the kind of person who doesn't mind taking chances with completely anonymous strangers, well I have $2.5 million on deposit in a Nigerian bank and I just need someone with a USA bank account to help me transfer it into this country...
This is really a scam like everyone has pointed out. Even with their "Buy It Now" "Feature!" the buyer loses. The "Value Price" for these items are inflated so that at the end of the auction if you didn't win if you don't want to just lose all of your money you can buy the item for the value price minus your $. 60 bids... but as stated the value price really isn't! For example a 32 GB iPad is "Value Priced" at $900! It sells directly from Apple for $599 with free shipping! Or you can buy it at Best Buy also for $599 as well.
Check out the value price listed using google you will find that they are inflated.
I have been a member of this site for a few months and have won many items. Started of slow with smaller items then moved to the larger ticket items after gaining experience. And yes, it did cost a little in lost bids to gain that experience, but just about a month ago, I won a 2010 Samsung 46 inch, 3D LCD TV for $24.25! Shipping was 24.99. Amazon's white glove service delivered the television, set it up, and insured it worked. I did notice that most of the products I have won (approx 12) have been shipped from Amazon with Quibids on the label, but the box is Amazon and the address is their fulfillment center. This is really a legit operation.
Some folks may be disappointed initially with the site, but either you need to watch it for quite awhile, or start bidding on smaller items and work your way up. I am now over $1,000 ahead. Tell me where you can get that type of television, shipped and set up for less than $50.
Recently I went on to the site. I was looking around and signing up. I didn't realize that they were going to take $$ from me right away. My own fault for not paying attention. But when I sent an email requesting a refund, I received an immediate response that they would take care of it. By the next day the return had been processed. I appreciate the fact that I didn't have to jump through hoops to get my money back.
The true test of good customer service is how things are handled when there is a problem. For me, this was A+ service.
I love the fact that someone decided to make selfish and greedy people like me fight against others like me and realize that its a rat race and a time waste to the finish!:-) What a fantastic model. I won't be going back but I feel sorry for all the people who end up being addicted to this site. It is a gambling site based on the chance that someone will wait for another person to waste their bids but yet might lose. It would have been honest if the actual bid placed for worth 60 cents and not 1 or 2 or 20 cents. But its not. The highest profit from auctioning an IPAD was ($188.43 * 100 * 0.60=$*******) - (699 actual cost ipad) = *******.
Bye Bye Quibids (Ebay rocks!)
quibids.com
Quibids is a joke. By the time you pay 60 cents per bid and pay shipping, your right back to retail price. I'm not so sure that they don't have "plants" to drive up the price of especially the cool stuff, or there are over zealous bidders who are out to win at all cost. It also pays to look up actual retail values and compare it you are really getting a deal. Who has time to spend hours in front a computer watching the bidding process anyway.
What a waste of time! And not to mention the money you spend!
I saw an ad that told me I'd save up to 90% on great new merchandise - that's a joke! Beware people... You know the saying " if it looks too good to be true" etc. This is the perfect example! If I could, I would rate this site as a negative 5 stars! Consumers Beware!
I have been an ebay user for over 10 years. My friend told me about QuiBids. I went to the website to have a look. I decided to register, but I was very surprised to get an email confirming my purchase of $60 worth of bidding money. I would not recommend QuiBids to anyone without warning them that signing up to bid is
An automatic charge to their credit card. There should be prominent wording that opening an account costs money, not buried in the fine Terms and Conditions print.
Ordered 100 bids but then realized I don't at the moment have time to spend on the auction which is the only way to be successful. I asked for my money to be returned and received a reply very quickly that your Company would do just that. Thank you. Great customer service.
I signed up, bought $60 in bid coins, changed my mind after a month and got a full refund with zero hassle. My customer service rep responded right away, was super friendly and didn't make me feel bad about changing my mind at all. Good people at Q.
I love their commercials. Real buyers who got steal deals on Quibids.com. Right... You could maybe fool people in 1995 but this is 2014 and it's clear from these reviews on sitejabber and many more this company is shady.
Well i joined this site sunday-spent my 48.00 on a small bid pack of 80-i won my limit of 3 auctions a day the first 2 days- 115.00 in gift cards w/ small amounts of bids included in the wins-i still have 55 bids left which equal 33.00-id say im ahead of the game! I tried a little bidding on an ipad but its get way out of hand-im cheap and won't give up my bids that easily
I have only won one thing so far on quibids.com and that was some more voucher points to use for bidding on other things. I have to say it is not a scam. You just really need to watch and understand how it works for awhile before diving into bidding and hoping your going to win big. You just have to be smart about what you're doing and not spend too much money on bids. It's just like gambling, but with a little better odds. Just don't go crazy with it and you might actually come home a winner!
This website is like playing a slot machine. You might win but probably not. Every auction is rigged, controlled by quibids.com. You never know when the bidding ends. They end it when they have made a considerable profit on the "bids" they sold to you. Stick with ebay or just don't buy any more stuff.
Bad idea. I just spent $70 or so, and all I have to show for it is a couple of small items worth about $8.
Here is the trick - you have to pay for each bid. Once you place a bid, it puts extra time on the clock, giving others a chance to bid again. In effect, the item goes up by $0.01 with each bid - but it could cost you 20 - 60 bids to win an item. And, consider that the most desirable items get the most attention (cameras, TVs, Tablets, etc), they are being bid on by multiple people. So, when you see - I got an iPad for $22.48 - what that really is saying is $22.48 in price out the door - and over $1320 in the cost of bids (again, each bid cost $. 60 to place) since there were over 2200 bids made - 2248 to be exact.
Translation - let's say you are bidding against three others for a Camera. You end up paying $14.50 for it, but in the process you have placed 450 bids - you actually just paid $284.50 for the camera. Not such a great bargain after all...
I feel it is gambling! I signed up because of the TV ads, thinking I will try to get a deal. I got caught up in wanting a $400 set of Home Surround Sound Speakers. That last 10 seconds of the Auction, lasted 2 and a half hours. I spent $330 and did not win the item. I did not use the "Buy Now" since they had taken me for enough money, already. Stay off this site, unless you like to gamble. I feel like I visited a Casino. Good Luck!
I enjoy winning gift cards because they make excellent gifts for everyone for birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas. Gift cards also come in handy whenever I need them.
QuiBids is now one of the best shopping sites available online to win great deals on gift cards. They have also made some positive changes, like free shipping.
I'm done with them. This isn't an auction, it's a thinly disguised gamble. Nothing they could ever offer is worth the stress of competition, the disappointment of defeat, or the self-loathing one (should) feel after having wasted so much time and money. It's just stuff, nothing more, all of which will become obsolete. Better to spend the time finding legitimate bargains and better to give your patronage to merchants more deserving of your hard-earned cash.
Save your money. Do not get lured in. You buy bids that go so fast and are useless even in trying to win a ten dollar gift card! Rather than the last and fastest person being the winner, people have a minimum of 10 seconds after your bid to outbid you. Get more than 5 bidders which is always the case and all your purchased bids will be gone in no time, leaving you to purchase more bids and lose more money while winning, if anything, nothing of value. Horrible website. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Answer: Yes like Gary O said, $60 buys your first 100 bids. Seems like a lot but after that you can buy 25 bids for $15. Best investment I ever made!
Answer: When you sign up, to be able to bid, you must purchase bids and the first bid pack is 100 bids for $60. People simply do not read. I would ask them why they think they give their credit card number just to sign up. I've read the information and it's pretty clear. I've been using QuiBIds for going on 3 years and I love it. When you sign up there will be at the top that is labeled "QuiBids 101". If you do sign up, be sure to read QuiBids 101 before you begin bidding. It's very helpful.
Answer: Hi Madeline, I'm sorry to hear that you weren't aware you were purchasing the starter bid package of 100 bids for $60.00 when entering your credit card info on the purchase page. The good news is they will offer a full refund for any of your unused bids. Just send them an email at support@quibids.com and they will be happy to assist you. They are very supportive and want to make sure you are satisfied.
