To Erik G. - in the history of mankind whenever the phrase "legitimate business" is mentioned it means the "business" in actuality is criminal or fraudulent. You keep whining like an aging mobster who is under Federal investigation for racketeering..."wah wah wah I'm a legitimate business man".
I only say that because the people that win the big amounts of vouchers or have hundreds of real bids can just swallow up the smaller guys. Some are willing to spend 200 bids to only win 50 or 100 back but saying that you can sometimes get lucky and win great stuff like 50 dollar gift cards at extreme discounts. Over all its hard to play when you don't have a large amount of bids to play with because people stay on all day everyday it seems. That 12 item win limit in 28 days is a good idea so it gives the smaller guys a chance at some great prizes for pennies on the dollar.
I'd just like to make a point to all of you who are so shocked about the $60. I was curious about the "dishonesty" and the "misleading" so I went forward with making my account, for science. When I went to sign up, the first step was to enter my name, email, create a username, etc. On the VERY NEXT PAGE, where it asks for your credit card number, it literally says in big letters "Buy your first bid pack and start winning auctions today!" (as it's a pay-to participate site and you can't bid on anything unless you buy bids). On the left of the page it shows you that by entering your credit card info you're buying 100 bids for 60 cents each a. K. a. $60. Don't blame QuiBids for your inability to read.
I only chose one star because it is the lowest choice. I signed up to look and gave my credit card for future bids. I read the terms twice. Nowhere did they mention any charge for registering at this site. Then I received an email they had charged my credit card $60 and I haven't even made one bid! The online Live Chat is offline, how convenient! What a scam!,
I had gotten on the website and was curious as to what items were up for bid. I had created a user name, password and then it came to my credit card information. While I thought this would be just for when I decided to bid on something, I went ahead and entered this info. I did not realize that the funds would be immediately deducted from my account even when I had not put any bids in. I quickly emailed the Customer Service to ask to cancel my enrollment - they responded very fast to my issue. I am waiting on the refund (which can take up to 3-5 business days), but I was impressed with their quick response!
Absolute genius created it. Biggest scam of this century thus far... even if they scam a tenth of us just once, they're set for life. And it's legal. TRUST ME DO NOT DO IT (unless you feel like pissing away $50 minimum in an hour bc you just can't help yourself.)
While I had written a good review of this site, I have since ceased most bidding on their site, due to all of the changes within the company made that I don't agree with. Once they stopped their on line chat, their community fb interaction, and now for the most part company lack of communication by phone or emails. I have little desire to support their cause or bid on the site. Many gift cards in the beginning of the year not received and no resolutions really caused me to back away from there site, I rarely bid on anything as the site has really changed and not for the better. So I will not be promoting them to anyone I know. If you ask today I would simply say. Join at your own risk.
I wrote a review in the past about this company. I lost $500 and they sent me a Samsung Tab 4. This was not the one I wanted so I never opened it until last month. I was shocked to see that the tablet shows coloured lines on the screen. Now, because I am late in informing them I am not getting a return. The customer service is very RUDE. I shop a lot online but never received a malfunctioning product like that. This site is ripping off customers. Stay away from them.
Hi Parveen. We can absolutely refund the unused bids in your account. However, once you place your bids in auctions, you ultimately affect the outcome of those auctions. We can't refund every person's bids who lose or else our site could not operate. This is clearly stated in the QuiBids 101 and help sections of our site. We strongly encourage all users to read this section thoroughly before you start bidding. Please contact us at support@quibids.com and we will be happy to explain this and anything else in further detail.
I wasted $60 on this site, it was enough for me to realize it is a scam. Here is why:
-They almost definitely use bots to make fake bids.
-To get your trust and lure you to spending big they give a few small beginners prizes when you join.
-Their advertising about what the items recently sold for is false and misleading.
The above points constitute grounds for closing down the site.
I thought I'd give it a try. Pretty much threw away about $80 but I did come out of it with a gift card for $25. You can do the math.
At one cent increments you are spending 61 cents on each bid. The "buy now" option gives you the dubious ability to buy the option at full price, which are no bargains, minus the money you wasted bidding on it.
A bit addictive and sort of like bidding on air.
While some people may get some great deals it is a total rip-off. Because it costs you. 60 each time you bid, they ultimately receive 2-5 times the high retail value of the items being sold. It is way worse than a casino. It may be legal but it is unethical. Go spend you money at a casino. You will be better off and have a lot more fun.
One more thing: Please be aware that quibids.com is bribing people to post positive reviews here.
When bidding in the last two minutes, the clock stops if more then one bidder is competing. Time should have ran out but instead the bidding time is extended.
However, when I spoke with customer service they immediately guaranteed a refund of any remaining funds and suspended the account.
I've been on many penny auctions and understand the good and bad with each of them. Quibids is not like the others. The buy it now is the best... you receive full credit of all your bids you spent toward that item if you do not win it and you pay the difference. The shipping is always Free on all my won and purchased items! Plus it arrives super quick. Customer service is online and ready to respond at a click of a button. A+ penny auction site with no gimmicks or BS with bid pack prices. Its the same price for everyone.
I joined QuiBids but then realized after I had read the introductory material that this was not a site for me. I requested a refund of my initial $60 investment in bids and it was granted immediately.
It is thoroughly refreshing to deal with a company that doesn't penalize you for not reading their instructions completely through. Thank you QuiBids for your honor and obvious dedication to customer service.
First off, this place is NOT a scam. All Penny Auctions operate like this; you buy your bids up front, then you bid and the auction goes up by a penny... hence the name Penny Auction. This type of thing is not for everyone, but I enjoy it. It's like a game, but I can also win cool stuff! Anything I have ever won from this site has arrived and it has been exactly what I purchased. I knocked off a star because I find that I'm not having as much success as not only I would like, but like I did in my first week or so. It's almost like they made it easy for me to win the beginning and now they're making it harder. Over all, I'd recommend this site though.
I started on this site a few months ago, it used to be very good, I won quite a few items, Then they started sending used refurbished crap for the auctions... stay away from this site, some lawyer will file a class action suit against them and and up shutting them down... you can't change the rules without notifying your customers!
Something went wrong with the online link to pay for an auction and the time subsequently expired shortly after. When I called the QuiBids support team and informed them as to what happened, the representative took care of the issue immediately. I didn't get his name but I think it was Jesus.
This site is a complete scam, first of all nowhere in the print of when you're reading and inputting credit card information does it say anything about being charged per bid, being charged to bid is a ridiculous institution at best, not being able to bid on the item until it is down to it's last ten minutes and then the timer resets every time somebody puts one on it? Absolutely ridiculous, i've read there take and they say "scam" is a very offensive word to use when talking about the company, well it is the definition of scam unfortunately.
More like a gambling website. You "buy chips" known as bids with the hope that it will somehow get you a great deal. This is the type of website I would expect someone in Vegas or in organized crime to create.
Answer: Yes like Gary O said, $60 buys your first 100 bids. Seems like a lot but after that you can buy 25 bids for $15. Best investment I ever made!
Answer: When you sign up, to be able to bid, you must purchase bids and the first bid pack is 100 bids for $60. People simply do not read. I would ask them why they think they give their credit card number just to sign up. I've read the information and it's pretty clear. I've been using QuiBIds for going on 3 years and I love it. When you sign up there will be at the top that is labeled "QuiBids 101". If you do sign up, be sure to read QuiBids 101 before you begin bidding. It's very helpful.
Answer: Hi Madeline, I'm sorry to hear that you weren't aware you were purchasing the starter bid package of 100 bids for $60.00 when entering your credit card info on the purchase page. The good news is they will offer a full refund for any of your unused bids. Just send them an email at support@quibids.com and they will be happy to assist you. They are very supportive and want to make sure you are satisfied.
QuiBids has a rating of 2.8 stars from 3,066 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with QuiBids most frequently mention gift card, retail price and business model. QuiBids ranks 2nd among Penny Auction sites.
Good point, Frederick. Sometimes when sites like SiteJabber open up a public forum for people to vent about their experiences, things can get taken out of context or blown out of proportion. The reason I come on to this site to comment on posts where people have had a negative experience with QuiBids is ultimately to help provide resources for both current and potential QuiBids customers. QuiBids is a new concept for many people and for this reason, there is natural skepticism and confusion about how it works. If customers take the time to read about how QuiBids works and have realistic expectations on how to use the site, their experience is overwhelmingly positive. For anyone reading this who wants to have an accurate understanding of how QuiBids works, check out our QuiBids 101 section and help sections found here:

QuiBids has taken many steps to provide transparency and authenticity in both how the site works and in verifying our internal controls are legit. Here's an article on an audit of our business practices, if that interests you:
