Can't say for sure but I think your personal info at registration may be sold (or at least hacked) because a day after I registered, I got a spam email from an overseas discount electronics drop-shop store. Coincidence? Who knows, but I also happen to have spent my time on the site tracking electronic goods. BEWARE!
Complete $#*! site. They have so many fake people posting how they won all this crap in such an advertised fashion. You don't see ebay doing this. You also don't see ebay make hundreds, even thousands over one item ripping people off because of "credits." Ebay will always be the top company. Eat $#*! quibids
I bid on a $1049. 99 item. I did not get the value of the bids I placed towards the item purchase price and tax was doubled up - giving them an extra profit. Then they shipped an inferior product that was $200.00 cheaper than the product I bought. Their customer service is in the USA even though they quote an Australian address and Australian phone number. All in all, a site that could do with some decent management intervention to get back on track.
I play Quibids a lot and receive many items. But every once in a long while there is a delay on shipping (which normally, I receive everything right away!). This just happened with the TV I won and it had been already a couple of weeks, so I sent an email to Quibids Support. I got an immediate response, so was very thankful for that and was told it had shipped. Awaiting patiently!
This site is not EXACTLY dishonest. They tell you right up what they are going to do. But still, it is a scam.
You get to bid on items. Each bid takes the price up by 1 cent. But the bid cost you 60 cents.
Lets suppose something costs 1000. 00, but in the end it goes for $100 on Qbids. To get to 100.00 requires 10,000 one cent bids. That turns into $6,000 for Qbids and they sold a $1000 item. $5000 profit, and only one person got something for their trouble.
On top of this, it takes FOREVER to bid on things. Each 1 cent bid lasts about 10 seconds when the bidding gets going pretty well. That means that this 100.00 item took no less than 27 hours of CONSTANT BIDDING.
Totally bogus deal. If you stay on this site, you will spend between $3.00 and $15.00 to get $1.00 of merchandise.
To me that is a scam. Avoid this site.
I signed up without reading what the program was all about and my CC was charged. I didn't expect that. Being a person who lives paycheck to paycheck, that charge makes a difference between eating or not. The person I chatted with was ready to help me but I went in thinking I would need to fight to get my money back... That's not what happened al all. Customer Support refunded my money within minutes of me making my mistake. I will probably become a customer in the future based on this experience.
I'm left Quibids simply because, though i did win an item... based on the amount i spent for a bid pack vs the actual cost of the 1 item i won... i actually ended up spending more for that item than i would have at a typical retailer. This observation has made me realize that Quibids is in fact NOT a true bidding site, but more akin to an online casino. And the fact that i have to pay even more to "cash out my winnings" (i. E. cover the shipping and handling), means that people who are not aware that they are actually gambling, are more often than not, cheated out of their money.
I understand that Quibids must make a profit in order to be viable, however, i do not agree with their decision to masquerade as an online auction house rather than an online casino. It is due to this that i left and will be making sure others are educated about their services before they use the site.
I had a payment issue... that was kinda my fault for not reading all the rules and policies. And they were able to refund my money immediately with no questions asked! They thanked me and hoped to try their service in the future! I do plan too! ;)
A lot of people are skeptical and say they spent too much money on an item. The one thing people should know is this: Only bid on items you are willing to pay full price for. Moreover, you should ALWAYS do the math on a product before you start bidding. Find out the maximum number of bids you should use while keeping in mind this shipping cost. You should always save some money using this site even if it is just a couple of bucks.
Its a fun site that actually provides opportunity to get a great deal. I nabbed a coffee grinder for $. 60 (sixty cents). Shipping was ten times that amount but it was still a good deal. There are some serious bidders so anticipate it will cost you something.
I'm one of those people who thought I was just creating an account, and then: Boom! $60 down the drain.
VERY VERY deceptive.
I just asked my bank to challenge the charge, hope it works!
Nowhere did it say: "We are going to charge you now!" - well, maybe on page 329 of the agreement. Come on now, that's just wrong!
QuiBids is a pay to participate website, as mentioned at many places on our site including the registration process and QuiBids 101 help section. Any unused portion of your $60.00 first purchase of real bids is eligible for a refund for up to a year. Please contact our support team via email at support@quibids.com and we can work with you to issue a refund of your unused bids.
This site is a carney trick. There system is bidding against you.
A few customers will win but most will sadly loose. Use the buy it now option, after running out of bids. The site also gets a percentage of the sale item. So check the internet to see if you can get it cheaper else wear, before you decide to try quibids.com. I ended up buying two $200 dollar gift cards, for $200 dollars each after the adjustment, and eating up an equal amount of bids, The first ran the bid up to 25.50+, I stopped bidding, and someone won. The second ran the bid up to over 37.00+, I stopped bidding, and someone won. Got two gift cards coming, I will not play the carney trick again.
I didn't spend much time on quibids but after all the confusion I finally understood what the website was about and how to use it. Unfortunately it's not my cup of tea although I would recommend to someone who would love it. Customer service was also fast and helpful. Thank you!
During a crazy, busy season I accidentally signed up for QuiBids without really looking into the fine print. I purchased a 60 bid pack and then changed my mind after further research. It is probably a blast for many, but does not fit for me. I requested a refund and received it very quickly.
I mistakenly bought $60.00 worth of bids when first signing up, but after writing to customer service all was taken care of to my satisfaction and I will continue to watch for items on quibids. Thanks
Had a technical problem submitting the weekly code for free vouchers and after sending them the issue with proof they resolved it and credited me with the 5 voucher bids within 24 hours. Great Job QuiBids.
At first i could not win for the life of me but then i started realizing that i just had to watch the auctions that are being bid on by the automatic bid function then count about 20 bids in without any single bids showing up then I started bidding and 6 bids later i won a $50 Walmart gift card for $1.75 and shipping is 2-3 business days in most cases
50 dollar Lowes gift card ended up costing 76 dollars - Lowes did not want to accept it at first and it two days of phone calls to get it accepted.
Run away - I closed my account - wish they didn`t have my credit card info
This is nothing short of ridiculous. I keep reading all these reviews, and I can't help but think that they all just sound like they were written by children. The definition of an auction according to Webster's dictionary is: "1: a sale of property to the highest bidder." I have won multiple things on this website (including an Ipod Touch), so I know for a fact that people can win. Furthermore, just because they charge you for bidding DOES NOT mean that it is not an auction (refer to definition)... And it definitely does not make it a scam. They are a business, so yes, they are probably trying to make a boat load of money... but then again so is every other business in America. If you have qualms about capitalism, I would suggest moving to a new country.
Those are my thoughts, I'm going to go listen to my Ipod now.
I was curious about this site and I purchased a bid pack to get started. After reading up a bit on how the site worked I figured I was just not ready for this type of shopping yet and requested a refund of my unused bids. Immediately I was given a credit along with a friendly e-mail from customer service saying they were sorry to see me go. I was very impressed with that and will definitely try this again once I am educated on this type of shopping experience.
Answer: Yes like Gary O said, $60 buys your first 100 bids. Seems like a lot but after that you can buy 25 bids for $15. Best investment I ever made!
Answer: When you sign up, to be able to bid, you must purchase bids and the first bid pack is 100 bids for $60. People simply do not read. I would ask them why they think they give their credit card number just to sign up. I've read the information and it's pretty clear. I've been using QuiBIds for going on 3 years and I love it. When you sign up there will be at the top that is labeled "QuiBids 101". If you do sign up, be sure to read QuiBids 101 before you begin bidding. It's very helpful.
Answer: Hi Madeline, I'm sorry to hear that you weren't aware you were purchasing the starter bid package of 100 bids for $60.00 when entering your credit card info on the purchase page. The good news is they will offer a full refund for any of your unused bids. Just send them an email at support@quibids.com and they will be happy to assist you. They are very supportive and want to make sure you are satisfied.
QuiBids has a rating of 2.8 stars from 3,066 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with QuiBids most frequently mention gift card, retail price and business model. QuiBids ranks 2nd among Penny Auction sites.
I am sorry you feel that way, Jake. The users you see or the postings you see on advertisements are in-fact legitimate purchases/wins off the website. QuiBids is an entertainment retail auction site in which customers purchase bids and compete to get great deals on the products they want. Feel free to email us at support@quibids.com or call 1-855-QUIBIDS (784-2437) or 405-253-2038 anytime Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM CST and we will be happy to further assist you!
