Used to be cool, but too many people on now...

I started using Quibids about 6mo ago and I cleaned up back then! I got about $3,500 worth of stuff for around $1,000. But that was then...

Nowadays there are less items and too many people. It feels like Quibids is now trying to maximize profits by limiting the number of auctions available, thus there are always 20 or so bidders bidding at the last second. It is nearly impossible to win and get a good deal now.

I will never use Quibids again.

Serious questions about the operation of this site...

An acquaintance and I were sitting in one of those pricey coffee stores, both on Quibids. We were discussing items up for bids and discovered we each had different items visible on our screens.

At the bottom of the screen where the number of auctions is listed... mine listed over 287 active auctions; the other one only 196.

Why would that be?
Are more auctions offered to those who bid high, then drop off?
Are fewer auctions offered to more asture bidder who spen less money to win?

Exchange
August 26, 2016

Ordered wrong size of princess cut bridal ring. Contacted quibids about exchange for a bigger size. Response was very prompt; from alternative's available to me right down to shipment labels. All in less than 24hours. Very impressed about service.

I have found the website to be quite good. I recently got a weber gas grill for $2.09 then of course there is the shipping cost which was 29.99 so I got this $400 grill for $32.00. You do have to be careful though. The bids cost you. 60 cents a bid and that can add up quickly when you are bidding.

CAREFUL
January 15, 2011

CAREFUL. I singed up for this sight and it automatically charged me. There was no confirm of charges button, it just automatically charged me once i put in my credit care details and hit a submit button. The agree to charges guidelines must have been in very small tiny print because i was waiting to read that. I buy items online all the time so I am not naive, they are just very cleaver in collecting your money.
So whatever, i payed the 60.00 dollar to join. It almost seems impossible to win an item. The gift cards seem like the easiest to win. I literately waited almost 7 hours to see if I could win a camera. I was just watching and waiting for an opportunity and it appeared like bots were bidding, the same 3 or 4 people constantly bidding. They say a sucker is born every minute. I was no exception! I have no one to blame but myself. Dont waste your money on quibids. Its a junk sight.

Quibids Experience
January 9, 2016

It wasn't what I expected when it came to being able to make a bid. I will see how the next session goes. When I finally got thru to Customer Support the young man that helped me was "Awesome"! I did not understand that I had to "buy Bids" per say. They could do a better job of explaining that in their on-line material. You apparently have to pay for bids even though you don't get anything out of it. That could become "cost prohibitive"!

Honestly the site can work if you want to spend an extreme amount of time building bids by winning gift cards (my personal favorite) that include more bids. The problem most run into is thinking they are going to get an Ipad right off the bat. It just doesn't happen. The site is over run with people and you need to be willing to spend some time learn how it works. Personal unless you have a couple hundred bucks to start and are really bored stear clear!

It's a sucker site
July 2, 2010

It's a sucker site. Take your money to Vegas... same odds, but with food and entertainment. The bait here is the technology you want for next to nothing (if you believe them). Since you are a tech freak anyhow, otherwise you wouldn't be on the computer trying to "win" the deal of the day, it's particularly appealing to your fantasy of going to a gathering and telling everyone how little you paid for this ordinarily expensive and desirable gadget... Like at the gaming table you lost 200 bucks and won $75... your a winner. Go buy dinner and show to celebrate.

So far I haven't felt cheated. I have won one item. I've been 1 bid from winning other items, but I have a feeling that if I had made that 1 more bid I'd have been challenged for a lot longer time. They might have company ppl that have unlimited bids too to jack up the profits. Their bids are 65 cents rather than GoBid's $1.00 bids. It's worth trying. It has features to allow you to set up automatic bids limited by how many bids or how high to go.

SCAM!
June 25, 2010

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!. My son and I "won" small bids initially. It was downhill from there. Same name pops up on different items almost instantly, driving up and prolonging the bid process. Run away from this site.

It is a complete scam
August 22, 2010

It is a complete scam. I would automatically would have believed it to be true, but it was promoted by a reputable news program, so I signed up. I ask that you do one thing before buying any bids. Watch the small auction items, such as the vouchers or gift certificates. Add these auctions to your "watched auction" page. If you don't bid on one of them (let's say a 25 voucher bids), you will see it goes for real cheap. But, when you try to bid on one during the same time. The bidding war begins. How can one go so cheap ($0.02) and the one your bidding on go for $3, 4, 5 dollars. They tell you to start of slow with little bids such as these vouchers, so that you feel the rush and continue to buy bids and win. It would appear that the entire site is rigged. I too, believe that there are employees bidding on these items to bring up the bidding price. Some of us have to learn the hard way. I did. Canceling my account.

Feels and works like a scam!

They would not let you adjust bids while buying their own bids voucher. Even though the original bids were actually paid for - At 60 cents per bid.

And it is really hard to win anything.

Here is a shocker -
I bid on two different 50 bids voucher auctions, supposedly worth $30, and each (penny) auction went to $5.5+! That means, that auction was worth 550 bids X 0.60 = $330 for a $30 voucher for JUST Bids from quibids.com (not any real product or worth anything unless you win something) - This is 1000% more than the actual price for something that is NOT even a real product!

If this is not scamming consumers, I don't know what else is.

They surely seem to making money. If auctions go to $20+, that is 2000 bids at 0.60 or $1200+. Seriously folks! How many products (many without any warranty) are listed there worth $1200. And now imagine auctions going to $50 or $60. $50 is about $3,000.

As usual if it sounds too good to be true... it IS. QBids is not a legitimate auction site. A PS3 does not sell for $0.08. Unlike eBay, this site requires you to buy "bids" (starting at $45) but this doesn't guaranty you will win anything. You could run through your entire "bid-package" and not have a single item to show for it. Additionally, cancelled, lost or rejected "orders" are common. Stick to legitimate auction sites and businesses. Don't say I didn't warn you.

While I don't doubt that people "win" auctions here, I'll BET that there are also bots putting in bids to keep some of them running so you'll keep bidding. In just my first (and only) day trying this (today), I just saw too many instances where as long as I was bidding on an item, the clock would keep resetting by "other bids" to keep it going - but within 30 seconds after I gave up on the item, the damn thing would "sell". I saw it too many times to believe that it wasn't being controlled internally. At least it only cost me $45 to learn this lesson.

Scam, plain and simple.

After loosing some $$s and observing some strange behaviors I decided to go for small, simple things. The site lists a bunch of blue-rays. I selected a dozen or for my watchlist. After few hours I had a list showing that they typically go for anywhere between 20 cents and $2.40 - no more. So I picked one, just expiring. I open the page and there are only 2 bids. The moment I enter the two "players" start bidding like crazy - In 3 seconds there are 6 more bids. So I wait until counter winds down to 2 sec and bid. The site responds: Illegal bid - auction closed - or something. 2 seconds later I'm being informed that on of the 2 guys bought the blu-ray for $0.60, spent $3.60 on bids and saved 85% off list.

If I manage to buy blu-ray, I will let you know.

The automatic bidder places bids for you past your bidding limit and you won't win the bid. I think it is rigged. Why would a 1500 laptop go for 53 dollars and the ipod touch and ipad go for more than that. I think they rope you in getting you to invest bids and then you are set up to lose forcing you to buy more bids. Profit and payment all made on bids just like las vegas. The suckers will pay out and very few people will get the prize equipment

I ordered a product In the beginning of June... Started looking for Help when it hadn't arrived at the beginning of July. Customer service reps online are friendly but don't give any answers... Tracking number for the product is invalid. They refuse to refund me what it actually cost for the product. Bids and payment. I'd highly recommend against this site.

I wish I read the reviews on this site about Quibids.com before I signed up. I feel so angry that I was taken in by them. Please don't give these people your credit card number. They take your money right away and when you realize you have been taken they treat you like a fool afterwords. I asked them for my money back within minutes. I have been given the run around by slick form letters. If this is a legitimate business something is terribly wrong with the laws that let them do this to us. This is a scam!

I think that if it seems too good to be true... it probably is. I looked around and items I would be most interested in were big ticket with low bid incriments. If I'm going to spend 100 bids (60 bucks worth) and end up bidding $1.20 on an item that I'm sure to get outbid on, I'll just go spend my bucks elsewhere. To me, this is about as logical as spending $60 to window shop and then going to a different store to make the purchase.
