Here's my question to everyone who says this is rigged: why would they need to? Why would they risk all the money they are making by using bots? Given enough suckers, the business model will make boatloads of cash without any cheating. People bid on stuff and spend way more than its worth, simple as that. Same reason vegas casinos don't cheat. They don't need to and they would hate to mess up a good thing.

Arrrgg
March 23, 2011

Arrrgg. I wish I'd seen all these reviews before I started bidding. Shame on me for not doing my research, and thank you all for helping enlighten me. Quibids should of course also be ashamed but they are too busy making $$$ off of us.

Fun and Exciting
June 1, 2015

It's thrilling! I strongly advise newcomers to take the QuiBids 101. Very good info. I have won 4 auctions, approximately $80+ worth of merchandise and I only spent 26 or 27 cents total. I realize I've wasted some bids trying for the higher dollar items. It's going to take more experience. I enjoy just watching others bid. I haven't had this much fun at the casino. At least with QuiBids, I get something for a little of nothinhg

I have just been reviewing all the reviews because i too am interested by Quibids. You all make it seem so bad but to me it looks like you are trying to cover up your mistakes by pointing fingers. Most of your points are valid, it definitely looks like they are making a SH*T load of money, but why did you continue to bid in the first place after you spend more then the products actual value? I think their response is BS and this website is very dangerous but did you ever consider that some of those problems could have just been you? For example the freezing clock was probably caused by your computer's lack of RAM and many people "Sniping" the bid at the last second. They actually seem legit to me, but i wouldn't try it because i would go broke in a matter of minutes. Very tricky of them huh, with the whole pay per bid thing. Just in case you are wondering, no i don't work for them in any way, but I'm sure someone who just lost a bid and is mad will accuse me of being an employee.

Good customer service does still exist.
December 31, 2015

I was watching and auction for 100 voucher bids that I should have been eligible to bid on after the time limit for winning Two such auctions in a 24 hour period had expired. I tried to bid, but the system would not let me, although I was eligible by a couple minutes. The auction locked, and there was not another one for 7 more hours. I really screwed up my strategy to win a big ticket item I had on my watch list. Customer service gave me 50 bids to compensate me. That is the right way to treat a customer, but it is rare in the world today.

I have used quibids for awhile. I am finding that when bidding on something like the 15 bid icon I get outbid constantly as if someone is chasing me to keep bidding. Once I stop and get off that bidding it sells and that auction ends. This has happened a lot and I have recently lost 245 bids on auctions that should not be going to high amounts by being "fished. In other words its all FAKE!" they let you win as a newbee for a long time. Once you are hooked you do not win so much.

Although I have won a couple things that were cheaper than retail, they aren't things I really "needed". Paying $0.60 for a bid, just to watch someone else do the same. 10 bids later and you've lost $6 and still don't win. You have to be "all in" to hopefully win. When you don't they do account for the money towards "buy it now", but then you are paying 100% retail with zero discounts. You have to pay $60 just to join. After I use up my "bids" (read as throw them away) I will delete my account and warn family & friends to save their money.

I was shocked to find out that after I had bid over $100.00 for an item and didn't win the auction, I lost all the money I bid. It was never refunded after the auction was over. This website is a total scam. That's how they can offer the products at such reduced rates; everyone who bids is technically paying for the item. When I called their customer support to see about getting my money back (or at least a credit for the money I lost) they told me "there is nothing [they] could do for me."

Initial Contact with QuiBids
June 30, 2015

I signed up with QuiBids and proceeded to their web site to read how to use the site. I was expecting something similar to eBay. I quickly learned that it is much different by design, as the designers add a gaming feel to enhance the experience. I don't game on my PC or Smart Phone and have no interest in any form of gaming. Thus it was not a good fit for me. Apparently many other people like the gaming aspect, which is fine, but I do not, so asked for a refund and they complied with my request vey quick which indicates a company of Integrity to me!

Its Amazing how one entity can obtain a license to steel. Legal thievery! This is the best scam that I have seen in my life. How would Consumer affairs conduct an investigation on a company based out of India and run by home grown scam artist? Save your money and never sign up because you'll never get anything for your money and the government is never going to figure how to convict these thieves as long as they have suckers like you and I.

Stay clear of this site unless you have A LOT of money to throw away. Yeah, it looks good when you see someone who actually won something but beware! You pay for credits to bid with up front but don't have a chance in hell of ever winning anything! The problem here is that everytime you place a bid you burn a credit and as you bid the clock resets itself to 10 or more seconds giving everyone on the planet more than enough time to out bid you. I tried it just for fun and it only took me about 2 minutes to figure this scam out. I didn't loose much becuse I didn't risk much. I very much want to help here by telling people to stay away from this site. It looks fun and exciting but you would be much better off playing the Lottery or trying to win a million dollars at you local casino!

Oops
August 5, 2016

Was just browsing and found the site to be interesting. Filled out the information to become a member and the next thing I knew money was deducted from my bank account. I didn't realize that I had purchased anything or that there were any fees. I emailed customer service and their response was outstanding. The issue was resolved. Thank you.

Don't fall for this site
December 31, 2014

Don't fall for this site. Signed up to bid and next thing I know, I had "bid" on things I hadn't even looked at and my starting money was gone. Spoke to representative and somehow they had documented proof of me bidding on those items. Also, since kids now a days are getting gift cards, please educate them on using their cards online before they get their money stolen like what happened to me.

I won't be using Quibids
May 5, 2015

Having an automatic $60 starter pack is not a smart idea in my opinion. The bidding system is not how a bidding system should work, totaling up your bids even though you are only at "x" amount, which put me off from using quibids.

We appreciate your feedback, Jacob. When using QuiBids, it's important to understand that we are different than traditional auction sites like eBay. We operate based on what is called a "Penny Auction Model," which involves buying your bids in advance. We encourage all new users to read the helpful information on QuiBids 101 and the help section of our site so you can better understand how our site works to set yourself up for more success with us. Here's a blog we wrote a while back that may help explain this better: http://blog.quibids.com/7-ways-quibids-is-different-from-ebay/

Hope that helps!

So...
May 11, 2010

So... you get lured into "buying" bids/ I bought 45 bids for $25. I then stated bidding on a ipad that was going up in 1 Cent increments and wasn't getting anywhere with that, so I started bidding on a $15 gift card for iTunes. But I ran out of bids. So I stupidly went to buy more bids, which cost me another $25... and concentrated on getting the iTunes card. I still didn't win it... so then a little window comes up and says "Sorry you didn't win this, would you like to buy it for $2.57"? So I thought... OK, I'll buy it. Even though an itunes certificate can be transferred into your itunes account for free (just with a transaction number) they charged me $1.90 in shipping/handling charges. So, in the end, my $15 iTunes card ended up costing me over $53.00. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE! I was lured onto it by them showing me all these great deals people had won, but I don't believe than ANYONE actually won a prize worth over $200 for less than $5. What a horrible rip off.

How can people think they are not profiting from failed bids just because they give you an opportunity to purchase at reg price. Last i heard msrp is a heck of a lot more than what any retailer will sell it for. They know this and count on people not being stupid enough to pay msrp. And if they are that stupid, then the company rakes in even more profit. Most people won't pay msrp so all failed bids become company profit. Anyone who cannot understand this should not even be permitted to use a computer for they will surely harm themselves.

Purchases
December 3, 2016

O looked forward to buying but 90% of the goods were army knives and other such useless objects. It was way after midnight when two electrical devices of any quality were offered. Extremely disappointed. Too much rubbish on offer the objects were looking for i. E. iPads etc were very very few.

No phone # for QuiBids listed on their entire web site, or anywhere in their 12 page response to Bank of America, that resulted when I requested a 'charge back' of my $60.00. Within QuiBids response was "ask this customer to contact our customer service, requesting a refund for any unused bids." So, I called Bank of America and asked them if they might have a phone # for them as I could not find one. They found one and said they would call for me. Then they came back and said they were place on hold for the next available agent, they then gave me the phone #, told me to press 0 and to call back if I was unsuccessful. Here is the phone number for QuiBids, good as of 2/16/2011. *******038

This site is for suckers
September 2, 2010

This site is for suckers. I really can't believe that people, after reading how these auctions work and watching a few take place, would ever consider buying bids. It took me all of 5 minutes to realize that this is a scam and the company is making thousands of dollars on items that cost a few hundred. 60 cents a bid? Insane! I'm just shocked that so many people are actually foolish enough to use this site. I wish I had come up with this idea, although even if I had, I probably wouldn't have acted on it, because I wouldn't think that anyone would ever fall for it!

It's not a scam... but it can feel like one if you don't know what you're doing. You can loose money if you're bidding on something that you plan to purchase anyway... you're just taking a shot at a better deal. If I want a laptop and know I'm going to buy it no matter what and I lose the betting... then I can buy it off the site anyway and get all the money I bet with credited towards my purchase.

BE SMART people. If you're not good at math and you think everything comes easy to you then don't go to this site. You'll just end up feeling and looking like an $#*! hole.
