This site is a complete scam. It cost you $. 60 per bid and every time a bid is made additional time is added to the clock ensuring that you and others will make more bids.
Please contact your state attorney generals office and the BBB. The business is operated out of Oklahoma. Additionally dispute the charges with your credit card company. Websites like this should not be allow to operate in this fashion and we should take it upon ourselves to make sure these scams do not go un-noticed.
Those of you thinking quibids is making no profit are STUPID. They have people pay $60 for 100 "penny bids". Those items that are racked up to lets say $80 they already made '''$480''' on top of the money they get FROM that bid. Really, they rob people little by little to make more than the RETAIL price! Why else would they have a whole whopping TEN second increase for each bid that drops... come on now. Lol
I'm so upset at myself for falling for the Quibids's scam. It seemed like a good idea at the time to buy some bids. And then I bid. And then one thing led to another, and I'm out $100 with nothing to show for it. It's my fault for using Quibids. You should be smarter than me.
I thought it would be a good way to purchase things at a cheaper price; however, when you do the math, you end up paying more than the site advertises. I have won a few little things- one which still hasn't been delivered [promised delivery within 14 days]. Still waiting.
I am also skeptical about the bidders- they seem to be the same ones online whenever I am. I also wonder when you see someone win a really expensive item for only a few dollars. Do they really win? Or is this a way to keep people trying to win.
I am not sure if I will play alot- the purchase of bids does add up and since I am not wealthy at all- one can go broke easily. It is a gamble, but Vegas odds seem a bit better.
Somebody is doing really well on Quibids, just not the customers. I gave it a try and was surprised to get charged $60 when I thought the first hundred bids were free. Ha! Then I sat back and watched for awhile. I saw the same bidder names on... anything that was up for auction. I believe the term for these bidders is "shills." They promise a lot and deliver squat. I advise to stay away as you'll get "taken" every time.
Immediately after having paid for an auction, I realized I did not change my selection as intended. I subsequently requested a change through a chat session. It seemed as if, while not necessarily an easy process, the representative was very helpful and resolved the matter very much to my satisfaction. Thank you!
Good if you don't make rookie mistakes by overbidding. Read the directions and you will have a positive experience. Don't and you'll probably be pissed off. I would recommend you watch a few before you jump in. Also lookup the same previously sold item and see what it will typically sell for. That way you know how much you are willing to spend..
I won a few things and they won't ship them to me because my address does not show up in their usps database, yet the reason they cannot ship is is because they can't ship to PO Boxes. I never tried to ship to a PO Box, just thats what they use to verify with. They won't tell me what they do ship with and will not add my physical address even though I get shipments almost daily from all popular shippers.
I got my stuff for pennies and maybe that's the reason. They exhaust you in the bidding process then exhaust you dealing with their "support" trying to get your item shipped. This is a total scam. Run hard and fast from this one!
QuiBids used to not charge for auctions that were won for less than $. 50. When this didn't happen on a won auction I queried Customer Dupport. They informed me that this policy was no longer in effect.
Won 1, lost several just trying to get acquainted. I wouldn't be a regular, it's too time consuming. The other issue that might encourage me to use it more, is that if you pay for bids in the Buy Now price, that they were changed to real bids, since you pay full price for them.
Overall... 5 out of 10 rating right now.
I bought a couple of things with this site but then had a javascript error occur that stopped me from bidding on a Mac after 240 bids and someone else won. I filed a complaint and even sent them a screen shot showing the error message. After having to waste a bunch of time filling out their customer support form and getting no replies or BS replies that didn't address the problem, I called them and they agreed to give me credit for my bids. I then tried to use them only to find that they hadn't given me my bids but instead the actually gave me "virtual bids" that didn't count toward the purchase price.
This concept is a good one but the bugs on the site, simply awful customer service and limited selection of products make it something that I'd warn you not to waste your time or money on.
I basically read the terms and conditions quickly and took the bait about the site being better than ebay... I signed up and entered in credit card information same as when I signed up for ebay. Then literally seconds passed and an email appeared with a charge of 60.00 to my credit card. I knew immediately I had made a very bad decision and read CAREFULLY into the terms... Quibids charges ahead of time for a "bid pack" and when you log into the site and place a bid your name will appear for a moment, then quickly be replaced by another bid. It looks very much like a scam and is almost certainly making some group of investors extremely rich. I know I will never go back to the site and they can keep my 59.40 that I leave behind in disgust. Promptly cutting up my credit card and calling credit company to explain suspected fraudulent site has my credit card number... STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!
Was curious why 48 dollars was removed from my account? Left me 50 cents? I'm going go back and review the terms and conditions and learn a little more. I was also concerned about other funds being charged or taken out without my permission. I was told that wouldn't happen.
I happened to see quibids online. So i thought why not give it a try. I bought a 100 bids worth $60. What i noticed/observed that some bidders were bidding way more than they price of an item. How can they bid more that the price of an item? They usually stop you when you reach the total amount of the price you are bid. I don't really get it. They must have a "BOT" bidders. I will never buy bids again. They should investigate this website. THIS IS A BIG SCAM! They're stealing peoples money. May bad karma be with all of you Quibids.
Purchased bids. Could not tell what was available in Australia. Links kept taking me to US website. Could not find stuff i wanted to bid on although it showed up on the pre login "homepage".
Disappointing. Hope you can get this together in the future. It should have been successful
I ALSO didn't realize there was a $60 charge (in addition to buying bids) - They keep telling me that it states the charge as you sign up... which is fine but it must be in very small print because there are a thousands and thousands of people that didn't see it... if Quibids were smart, they would realize how many people are upset about this and change their policy to remove this charge. They make sooooo much money off of these auctions (it's actually a crime how much they make if you ask me) so it would be nice to 'give back' to their customers by NOT charging a fee 'just to be on their site'... Sounds like they need a change sr leadership with this ever-growing and huge money making company... I bet if I check back a year from now... this charge will be removed because there are way too many customers unhappy about this... well, I'm off to write this review on all the other major Review websites…..
Sorry to hear this has been your impression of QuiBids. QuiBids is a pay to participate website, as mentioned at many places on our site including the registration process and QuiBids 101 help section. I signed up for QuiBids because they advertised that they were better than eBay. NOT! What QuiBids doesn't tell you upfront is that they charge buyers a fee (unsure if it's per bid or a recurring charge... didn't get that far). EBay is FREE to use for buyers. Comparing the 2 sites is like comparing apples to oranges. Needless to say, I asked to be removed from QuiBids' database... and they were quick to comply.
I was curious and tried the site out. I got two $25 gifts cards for under $3 each. You definitely have to be patient and careful. I don't think it's a scam but you could lose money quickly if you're not careful. Also, I stay away from the big ticket items like the ipods and tvs. You can really lose trying to win these. Maybe one day I'll try these items but right now I'm satisfied with my $25 gift cards (gonna give these for Christmas gifts) - I really can't beat that. I don't constantly bid. I've noticed about what a $25 gift card will sell for at it's highest so I wait until everyone else has bid to about that amount before I start bidding. I'm sure it isn't for everyone but I would hesitate to call it a scam. I won and I received my items. If I lose, then that's only my fault of not knowing when to stop bidding or drop out of the site if I start losing.
First... I want to say... Site Jabber is really cute in their presentation. Im not a brown noser just stating facts... The review I would like to give is on the comments at quibids. I can see the fake comments that are written by the people who work for quibids... being a master at reading B. S. I was married for twenty years (my credentials). I will weed out the fake from the real... why mislead people and then try to cover up with fake comments?
People who complain about this site shouldn't use it.
You can loose money here or you can save a fortune.
Part of it is about having a strategy, having LOTS of patience, and sitting glued to your computer. Another part is luck.
I have won 5 items so far totally far more than I have spent on bids.
So for me it paid off. That said, I was very conservative about my bidding watched auctions for long periods of times and paid close attention to what was going on before I started spending money.
Answer: Yes like Gary O said, $60 buys your first 100 bids. Seems like a lot but after that you can buy 25 bids for $15. Best investment I ever made!
Answer: When you sign up, to be able to bid, you must purchase bids and the first bid pack is 100 bids for $60. People simply do not read. I would ask them why they think they give their credit card number just to sign up. I've read the information and it's pretty clear. I've been using QuiBIds for going on 3 years and I love it. When you sign up there will be at the top that is labeled "QuiBids 101". If you do sign up, be sure to read QuiBids 101 before you begin bidding. It's very helpful.
Answer: Hi Madeline, I'm sorry to hear that you weren't aware you were purchasing the starter bid package of 100 bids for $60.00 when entering your credit card info on the purchase page. The good news is they will offer a full refund for any of your unused bids. Just send them an email at support@quibids.com and they will be happy to assist you. They are very supportive and want to make sure you are satisfied.
QuiBids has a rating of 3.3 stars from 3,064 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with QuiBids most frequently mention customer service, credit card and gift cards. QuiBids ranks 2nd among Penny Auction sites.
Sandra, we try to provide as much information upfront to inform potential customers that QuiBids is a pay-to-participate site. If you purchased bids and did not wish to, we have 100% guarantee refund of any unused purchased bids.
It is possible you were seeing the same usernames in different auctions because we do offer a feature on the site called 'The Bid-O-Matic'. While placing single bids in an auction is the primary way to stay in the game, at certain times you may need to step away from the bidding process. While using the Bid-O-Matic does not guarantee a win, the Bid-O-Matic feature is a helpful tool that can bid for you while you take a short break. You can set the Bid-O-Matic to place between 3 to 25 bids at a time. As long as you have bids remaining, the Bid-O-Matic will bid in order to keep you as the highest bidder in the current auction. If you run out of bids in your current Bid-O-Matic, you can re-load the Bid-O-Matic with up to 25 more bids or continue placing single bids.
However, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at support@quibids.com or call 1-855-QUIBIDS (784-2437) and we would be happy to further assist you.
