I got totally scammed, they pretend to generate QR code, and then without warning you, after 14 days they blackmail you, to force you to pay to keep that QR Code active. What a dark patern, totally a scam. Will definitely raise that to justice authorities.

Borderline scam. They have a "free" option for qr code generation. But it defaults to Dynamic QR codes that require an account that is also "free" for 14 days. But then they disable to codes and then charge an annual fee of $120 for your codes to work. When we tried finding any way to contact them for help, we discovered they have no support or contact details in their support page. Working with our bank to reverse the transaction. Don't pay for qr codes. You can make them actually for free else where. Zero stars.

Their free trial is a limited 14 days but limits the number of scans you may use. They list their subscription as a monthly cost but are billed annually. Who generates enough QR codes to require this kind of usage? My bank is still pending and I can not get a refund. (I wish I had called it a scam and disputed the charges as fraud when it happened. I am truly disgusted that there is no way to get a refund. If you cancel, they simply take away access to your QR codes. Just go to Google Chrome and use its features, because It is ridiculous to pay for this site unless you are using a huge number of QR codes.

I am a teacher and used the site to create QR codes for a project in class. These codes were meant to be used for 4 days. I am happy to pay one month of subscription, but this is ridiculous. Lesson learned: don't work with an overseas company and one that does not respond to criticism.

Absolutely terrible experience with this company. I thought I was signing up for an account to save QR codes but its a 2 week trial and afterwards your qr codes are disabled. And then to pour salt in your wound they email you every time someone scans your QR code. RUN! Find another website to generate qr codes.

I unwittingly made dynamic QR codes during my trial (that allow you to track scans and change the website address linked to a QR code). The default, when creating QR codes, is set to dynamic QR codes. Unlike static QR codes, these will stop working if you don't then subscribe at the end of the 14 days. However, if you create static QR codes, they remain useable. I feel really stupid and because I work for a non-profit and don't feel the organisation should pay for my mistake, I'll be paying for this personally. I feel tricked. I won't extend beyond this annual subscription and just paid this money so current printed materials are useable. I'll be making future QR codes somewhere else. I thought this would be a good reputable company to deal with because they are owned by bitly. But their business model isn't one that makes you feel like you can trust them or that you're empowered to make the decisions that suit your budget.

Poor communication in regards to trial. Did not realize services would be locked down after a trial period until we purchased a subscription which put me in a tough position for some print material that had already been distributed. Emailed their customer service and let them know about it and they had the audacity to charge my account again this year. I'm sure their services work fine but just know, there is no trial period. You're paying from the get go.

Besides trying to get me to register for the some advanced features, it's great! It has a lot of built-in tools to help you, like for vCards, etc. Very nice, and useful site!

Great company! All of the options and customization is great! I made a mistake by not fully understanding the service and they were very helpful in correcting the situation.

Repeatedly trying to charge my card > Zero customer service > no human to speak with > lots of folks having the same issues if you check their FB page... where you can not message them there either. Con artists screwing people over. POS company.

Classic bait and switch. Say it is a free trial. You use it. 10 people scan it, and they disable it. They then hold your code hostage until you pay. You do not have the option to pay month to month, the whole amount is upfront. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of using their code in my wedding RSVP so I have no choice but to pay the crazy $120 annual fee. The reps all say this code is dynamic, but I need none of these features, and I was not provided a way to change my code to "static". Any respectable business is clear with their pricing and earns your money with quality products and service. I would have been willing to pay some monthly fee too, I would have just done a little price shopping among competitors. These jerks got me, save yourself.

It says free, only asks you to subscribe to get the qr BUT after using the qr some time, it forces you to get a paid plan if you still want to se to continue that qr! NO FREE! Got me in a really bad position! I have so many problems right now I regret soo much! BIG MISTAKE!

It is not at all obvious that the QR-code created through this service will stop working in 2 weeks and you will have to pay almost 100 euros for a year!

Customer service- Awful or rather lack of response "only through a support email" how can you rate an experience that never happened. Situation was urgent due to lack of legacy process on our end. But that does not justify how holding QR codes hostage could help their business. To try and immediately fix the problem I paid by credit card and QR Code Generator has yet to reactivate (release the hostages). We have had to work through 5 days of down time.

Was referred by Hubspot to this website. It all appears as a "free" tool. But once you've created and started using the QR code, 14 days in, they block the redirects until you pay a YEARLY fee.

Would not have used this service if they made it clear ahead. It's quite unethical.

They dangle a Free Plan in front of you and then trick you into a 14-Day Free Trial so your code becomes worthless after you have printed a thousand business cards. I will reprint my business cards instead of paying a red cent to these garbage human beings. I can't wait until karma catches up with the people that run this scam. Why not try to use your technology for good rather than evil?

Like almost everyone who has contributed here, the QR Code Generator company is just another pathetic scammer, out to fleece any unsuspecting customer. The company is fraudulent and needs to be treated with disdain and contempt. There are other sites, some offering a free service, but which are evidently honest in their dealings. The scammers need to be called out as business dishonesty is a growth industry. Unfortunately, it is affecting the whole idea of QR Codes and could eventually make the technology redundant. Like so many others, I'm very upset that there was not clear mention of the QR code expiring after a certain amount of time. Luckily I'd gone back in to see how many I could create in what I thought was a free account, only to see the QR code was now set to expire in 11 days. After I'd printed out flyers, online marketing, and a banner for our nonprofit. It is an upfront charge for a yearly subscription that is presented as monthly, no option of month-to-month. Received a fraud notice from my bank after the reluctant $100+ purchase to keep our one QR code active- clearly this is some overseas business. Hoping others see all of these reviews and don't make the same mistake! There are apparently plenty of actual free generators out there. This is not one of them.
