I wish I would have checked before using this site. It is NOT an interior design site, it is a site that collects your personal information and then you get tons of unwanted solicitations!
This is a fake site for a company to steal your info & sell it to a bunch of random companies. Do not use, you will get spammed by primarily unprofessional companies. Wish could report them. Could not find Powell & Sons Gutter on yelp.
Powell and Sons is a fake company. What ever kind of work you need, you will get calls from local companies with poor reputations. It is a false front website. Stay far away from this company. Asked for quote on very small stucco repair and got an immediate call from Dreamstyle trying to talk me into 100% restucco of house.
Requested a quote for bathroom remodeling. Brought up a list of other projects I might consider. Checked gutter cleaning. Submitted the quote form. Got a message they could not do the project but will pass it along to "partners ". Immediately got an email from Angie's list for gutter cleaning. Then 4 phone calls for gutter cleaning. These people are thieves as Angie's list charges a fee for the leads. Sending a complaint to state consumer protection. Bad enough they lie to me about being real remodelers but taking money from hard working contractors is unconsciousable.
I submitted an online quote form to them as they came up in my google search as a local company in my area that specializes in what I needed. Information was then sent to HomeAdvisors, Angi, and who knows who else. My phone, email, and text have been going non-stop from every vendor imaginable, many that don't even do what I was looking for. Don't bother unless you are willing to deal with the bombardment of calls and texts.
Scam scam scam scam Scam scam scam scam Scam scam scam scam Scam scam scam scam Scam scam scam scam Scam scam scam scam Scam scam scam scam Scam scam scam scam Scam scam scam scam Scam scam scam scam. Oh and it's a scam.
After researching for pool table disassembly moving companies, Powell & Sons popped up as an experienced Pool Table Moving Company in my local area. I completed the request for quote form, and then started receiving many phone calls and text messages from moving companies asking how big is my house and how many bedrooms of furniture needed to be moved.
Seriously, how are they allowed to get away with this crap? It's just like all the other reviews have claimed, this is NOT A COMPANY! They source out your info to whoever so you don't know who will be contacting you. If I call a company, I expect to be dealing with that particular company and their employees and not someone I would otherwise not want to hire. We need to go back to using the good old Yellow Pages to find local businesses because this online crap doesn't work anymore...
Website makes you think you are contacting a father and son type business. You will be bombarded with a dozen calls from mutliple people from different companies. This misrepresents what appears on the website as a family owned and operated business.
Google deck repair near me and Powell and Sons was the first result. Filled out the form on their site and immediately was contacted by Angi's giving me the names of local businesses. Fine print on Powellandsons.com states they may share my request for a quote with a third party such as Angi. Powell and Sons never got back to me but this 'company' immediately shared my info with Angi. Contractors with Angi must pay a fee to be given my contact information and I've been called by 4 businesses so far. I don't need that many quotes and some are quoting the cost of a new deck vs the small repair that I need. I don't like contractors paying to contact me for a service I'm not looking for. That's happened with Angi's in the past which is why I don't use them anymore. But it seems that PowellandSons=Angi.
This site appears to be little more than a lead aggregation service. I submitted on the website a request for a bid, with a description of the work I wanted done (basically, the replacement of an old deck). Within 20 minutes, I received a call from some outfit called US Contractors. The woman on the other end had me repeat the info I had included in my online request, then tried to upsell me on solar panel installation! When I informed her that I had no interest at all in solar panels, she passed me to a colleague who wanted me to describe yet again the nature of the job. At this point I told her that I had neither the time nor the inclination to speak further with her and hung up.
That was less than 3 hours ago. In that time we've had calls from 2 other contractors, one of them located more than 100 miles away. Apparently, your contact info is uploaded to a lead aggregation app for contractors, so expect a bunch of solicitation calls.
Their website solicits personal data and it is immediately sold off. The second I hit the request quote button my phone was inundated with both texts and calls non stop and my phone is not even usable for telework. This scam should be highly illegal!
I thought I was contacting a local company. I submitted a Free Quote request and almost instantly I was bombarded by calls from companies that were not even local. About 12 calls in 10 minutes. 2 from the same company.
This is how Angie's List get their leads they send all these contractors. They have all these fake websites and collect your information and then send it to their contractors and charge them close to $100.00 each!(they send it to 3 providers...$300.00) Should be illegal!
I agree with other reviews here - NEVER got a call from Anyone, including Powell & Sons. I only got a message "After" completing my information upon requesting an estimate, that there is no such "Powell & Sons" in my area, but that they have contractors that would be contact me.None did, nor do I want them to. I found that you can report such FRUSTRATING and misleading websites here: https://support.google.com/ads/troubleshooter/*******?visit_id=*********************408&rd=2 Good luck.
Asked for a quote for a kitchen remodel - when the guy called I was at work in the middle of something and I said I'd call back - the guy was smacking his gum in the phone while asking why I hadn't answered the previous calls he had made - I said I don't answer calls when I don't recognize the number - he says "Even though you were the one asking for the quote?" I said that the name doesn't come up on my phone, just the number - so then he said well when are you going to call back? (Still smacking his gum loudly in the phone) I said I'm a single mom and I work 50 hours a week so I'll need to find the time. I was like bye bye. Do not waste your time just to be treated like crap by some little jackass antagonizing you and chewing gum in your ear. Taking my business elsewhere.
This is nothing more than a lead generation company. It is NOT a real company and they are frauds. I clicked "Roofer in Yelm" and they popped up. They even claim to have been voted "best roofer in Yelm", which is funny because the company I work for was voted "Best roofer in Yelm". I really wish there was some recourse for scams like this. Put in your information and you will be bombarded with calls from companies they just sold your lead to. BEWARE!
Useless -
Young kid from Leaf Filter gutter company explaining to me that his 32 gauge gutter is way better and thicker to the competitions 18-20 gauge gutter - High pressure sales pitch that in 10 minutes went from over $5000 TIC to $3300 - with 10 quotes in the middle. Finally asked what did i want to pay...
There is no such actual company as Powell and Sons in Houma https://powellandsons.com/
Powell & Sons is NOT A COMPANY! They act as a 3rd party source to send leads to other companies. I don't know how this is allowed!
In my case, they represent themselves as a "sponsored" skylight contractor - even saying they were voted best in San Diego. They are not a contractor. They do not do skylights. They only send your information to a 3rd party company (like Angi Leads) and then the info is sent to a contractor (me). My company gets charged for the lead and they are making $$ on it. Oh, when complaining to Angi, they say there's nothing they can do about it. WHAT?!
If you look at their website, it even looks legit. There's even a picture of a guy and his mom looking like they're contractoring. They are NOT! This is 100% false advertising! How is it allowed.
This site is stealing your information and honest request for service and selling it to Homeadvisor.
The site is misleading and should be shut down. Once you try to delete your information - the privacy form does not work. And does not allow you to delete your information. One Trust is the name of the software. I assume they are purposlfully not allowing you to send the delete request.
This is war!
