The owner name this site pof = PLENTY OF FISH, Well I would have named this site powlobdf = PLENTY OF WHOLE LOT OF BIG DAMN FISH, because that's all there is fat overweight females at least 80-85% of them. Now don't get me wrong I would be in the bedroom with her they say big girls do it better. But I seriously don't know about this site the female's on here are straight bosstiee plus the guys on here is $#*!ing it up for the other guys that real about their profile. I moved away and came back to my hometown, with no contact of anyone and liking men older than I, I was willing to give POF a try. I first created my account where I moved to and met a few great people but nothing lasted long for I took a job traveling the United States building motorcycles. I came back home to have gotten in a car accident and shattered my jaw. I was cooped up in a hospital bed and resorted to POF to feel like a human again. I met a few men from 30-40 take into consideration was 21. But no one wanted to meet even after I was out of the hospital they just wanted you to talk dirty so they could get there kicks. I came across a younger man 28 who had messaged me when I was in the ER but I didn't take anything serious with him as I figured he was like all the others. We decided to meet Feburary 7 2015 to go out on the motorcycles for a little. Later that night I found out he had lied saying he was in his hometown 5 minutes away from my house, when in fact he was at dinner with fiend about 30 minutes away. He left dinner just to get me. That night was quiet, we didn't really talk the entire ride. When he came to drop me off he finally started to open up and speak. We have been together ever since. We have created a beautiful life and vey much happy with each other. This site isn't bad it's a matter of who you talk to take your time give people the 20 question rule of thumb and move on.

Hi, I have a neighbor who was a member of POF for about 2 years. He met one of the woman from POF. After the date he found out that she had stolen one of his credit cards. Six months later. He found out about the extent of the identity theft. After all was added up, he had lost over $40k (charges to his credit cards and other accounts). They do not screen any of their members. You may end up dating a convicted FELON (like my friend) who ALREADY HAD A BOYFRIEND. POF is a great place for scammers. About 70% of the emails I get from POF are really spam/bots trying to scam you out of money. I would not recommend this site to anyone.

Ease of Use?
Difficult to use -- Ive talked with countless people who got their accounts deleted -- for No Reason.

Customer Service?
Non existent. If you have a problem and send them an email or even call, they wont respond. Customers dont matter to POF.

After opening my account at POF I checked my emails the next day. When I opened up my email, I had about 20 spam messages. I was scared to open them because some may have a virus. I have to do this every day -- remove 15-20 spam-scam emails.

Please stay away from POF -- its' Annoying and financially Expensive!

POF blew away a paid account based on some algorithm that scans for possible scam activity. There's no such thing!
If it was true, all the Nigerian men pretending to be Americans and tryinig to scam me would also have their accounts blown away, but they seem to make it around the system.
Of course, they're allowiing me to sign up again, but I've lost all of my contacts and emails and they're not helpful in any way.
And, there's no such things as customer service. Their customer service website runs you in circles with no actual contact.
The fact that it took me over an hour just to Google and find a way to contact them directly with my issue is absurd.

Even more absurd, if I directly reply to their email, the communication will be automatically deleted.

I was a POF for awhile already. POF deleted my account for no reason. I never disrespect nor sent any wrong message to any women in POF. Besides, the women on POF, are not very friendly either. I messaged women and give them compliments and they would block you. Women said that "MEN" are FAKES, well a lot of these WOMEN are FAKES as well. This is a TERRIBLE and UNTRUE dating website. Markus, who is the owner should do something about his crappy creation. Mr. Markus, you have created a PATHETIC DATING SITE. You have DELETED me and had have DISCRIMINATED ME by CANCELING MY ACCOUNT. I will report you to every dating site review that I can report. You are racist!

Of COURSE your going to have to filter through the buttheads with silly rude sexist messages, but I took a chance on a man 1.5 hours away (at the time was very far to me in my head) but we made it work and we are so very happily married and I couldnt thank POF more for helping me find such an incredicle man!

Actually this article doesnt cover the facts of POF. I have personally reported 3 sex offenders to the site through the complaint form. Which was completely ignored, except to delete my profiles. I provided evidence, and even the offenders families testimonies. These offenders also spread Gonorrhea, and it has become a health hazard for the community. Though in the male list of the site. I did meet two cops who are actively monitoring the site. None the less. Of all the sites I have looked into. Plenty of Fish is the only one actively protecting sexual offenders, and disease spreaders from the truth. The company of POF does not maintain their own rule in order to protect these individuals. This is the site to use, as a woman at least, if you want to be raped, infected with stds, and have attempted murder practiced upon you. I have screen shots of all that I claim with in this post. The site POF needs shut down, and the owners tried for the crimes they are knowingly allowing to occur via their site! To their members, and the community!

I have just emailed customer care for the THIRD time requesting that they stop sending me match emails as I deleted my account OVER A YEAR AGO and they have not responded to any of my emails. I just sent them an email on Monday requesting that they stop and not only did I not get a response, but I got yet ANOTHER match email TODAY!
Be warned if you sign up with them, even if you delete your account, they will ignore you and continue HARASSING you with emails for years! Even if you tell them you're getting married in a couple months, THEY WILL IGNORE YOU AND WILL NOT STOP!

As many have experience in 2014, my profile of 7 years was deleted without reason or cause to me. Everything was going great with my pof in early nov 2014 to the last time used, never any problems in 7 years, I went on vacation, when I return by Thanksgiving, it was GONE, couldn't even say goodbye or happy holidays to my friends of many years? They're idiots, wrote them 5 emails over 5 weeks, trying to find out what happen before finally just receiving the automated B. S. email, indicating violation of Terms and Conditions, no actual details.

How can we get this mad man (Markus Frind from Germany) to stop this? Is this nazi germany to where ONLY one man decides the outcome and the freedom of choice of all at the same time being discriminating and providing undeserved outcomes, are there any laws in Canada to assist anyone? There should be an appeal process and if someone has made a mistake, given a second chance to amend, even criminals get this system or is Markus Frind perfect and everyone else not. Markus will probably institute the death penalty for those who commit any errors on POF in the future, hail Frind... by the way, have you noticed that there isn't any information on this chap's family or marital/dating status, difference of age with his parents or anything, he's basically invisible on the net!

I was attracted to the "zero tollerance policy" against married users, under-age, scammers, nudity, overtly sexual approaches etc... it seemed to guarantee a higher standard of user and provide some safeguards against scammers... I paid for an upgraded account, but I was disappointed... Fake profiles... Scammers... Inactive profiles from 1947days!

It seems that the "zero tolerance policy" is self policing by the community with the "rate images" function the users are invited to approve or delete the photographs of other users, which suggests that they are not reviewed by POF at all... I don't know...

My main frustration was with customer support which is robotic and when eventually they do answer it is unhelpful. Queries about payments took 13 days to receive a standard response. They seem to have an automated response to all queries - the deletion of account and a refund... Very impersonal. No evidence of real people reading and responding to your query.

I reported a scammer, with evidence of real identity of person on the photo, This resulted in the deletion of my account!? Maybe the scammer realised that I had rumbled him and he had my profile deleted? That's ok! Saved me the trouble... LOL! I would not recommend the site all in all...

If you do use this site, I would recommend that when you like someone to move communication to email or chat because your or their account could disappear at any time!

The layout is good, easy to navigate. The apps are equally good. The tests were pretty neat. I received A LOT of messages. I followed all the terms of service and guidelines and I don't even think any of my pics showed cleavage. I was very kind to everyone I spoke to, even in turning them down. 24 hours after being on the site, I went to log in and received the message that my login or password was incorrect. I requested a new password and was told that my email address was not registered. So I re-registered with the same email, password and screen name as previously, re-took the tests, and created my profile all over again only to be deleted once more in less than an hour. There is no reason given and no way to contact them to ask why. I guy that I had given my number to on the site told me that he had not seen anything questionable on my profile either.
I understand a no tolerance on violating terms of service... but I did not violate terms of service. I was not rude, did not post questionable pics or anything else listed on their TOS.
I can only assume that one of the people I POLITELY turned down reported me for something... *shrug* I'll just take at as a note from the Universe.

Been on there fir years and had no problems. All my pics were of me or had me in them, no nudity. Was respectful. But tried to log in today and my account was deleted. Absolutely garbage.

Only on POF will you find overweight, unemployed, broke, unsuccessful, low life females who usually have a bunch of kids by various men, no car, no job, always living with someone or off someone, and has a long list of demands. POF is a JOKE. If you're looking for "wife material" then don't get your hopes up on POF. Nothing but ran through females who been smashed & passed all their life looking for a SIMP to "save" them and commit to them. Then you got the females who are looking for a date and free meal, yet can't cook to save their life. Or how about the escorts who post naked or half naked pics of themselves, yet talk about how they're "tired of guys just wanting sex"... yet don't have ANYTHING else to offer BESIDES sex. And let's not forget about the airhead females on POF who say they want a man to "get to know" them, yet can't even fill out a dating profile, and says "ask" on every line. Last but not least, the infamous low life females who are simply looking for a man to take care of them and pay their bills, raise another man's kids, and put up with their stubborn, difficult attitudes and smart mouths. I refuse to take any female seriously on POF. If you're looking for a hit and quit, go for it. But trying to find a trustworthy woman who isn't a cum dumpster or attention whore on there? Forget about it.

I joined POF 2 years ago out of desperation. I had tried other sites (such as meet me, okcupid, match, etc.). I'm a divorced mother with 2 full time jobs and had been in 2 very abusive relationships. I didn't have time to look out in the "real world" for a relationship, and honestly I was quite gun shy because of my past relationships.

For the first 8 months or so I had nothing but bad luck. Guys only looking to hook up. But I didn't give up. Finally ran across a profile that peaked my interest (had similar likes and his profile seemed very genuine) and even though I never would have approached him in person because I felt he was way "out of my league", I took a shot, and messaged him. Now as of tomorrow we will have been together for a year. He is everything I have dreamed of for a significant other. We never fight and he truly treats me like a queen. Not to mention my daughter absolutely loves him and he reciprocates her adoration.

I guess my point is that, if you're willing to put the time in and weed out the losers, you can have amazing luck in finding the right person. Just like any other dating site, there are people who aren't honest and are only looking to hook up. But there ARE genuine people out there truly looking for their one "fish". Just like in the "real world" online dating is a series of trial and error. Don't give up!
