T N got me an invite, and I've since spent all morning on here! It's like another image sharing website, except the concept of it is ingenious. The idea is to "pin" things that you find of "interest" (hence, pinterest) onto your very own board.
Except the boards are never-ending. As you keep scrolling, more and more images appear so there's no hassle with needing to click "forward" or "backward".
One thing I can't rave enough about this site is that it is very intuitive. It's super friendly to use and you won't ever be thinking "how do I do this? Why can't this function be more obvious? Ugh, i don't wanna read your 50 page FAQ".
You can categorize and label your boards so not everything is meshed together in one big blob. You can opt for a board to be private, so no one else can see it but you. Once you pin something, you can go back to edit your pin or delete it if you ever needed to.
When viewing other pins: liking, saving, repinning is as easy as hovering over the image of choice, and clicking one of the three buttons that will appear above the image.
The home page is a combination of pins from all of your friends, the people you follow, and you. The most recent pins are always first, so their new great finds are automatically shared with you.
Love how easy it is to use this website!

This video is from a former Pinterest Engineer letting everyone know that the company is against pro-life individuals.
Pinterest is a really fun pin board website that allows you to pin different websites and pictures and arrange them into boards. This technique is really useful because it keeps your ideas and interest organized and in one place. On Pinterest you can create your own boards, as well as see others boards, which can be very useful when searching for pins that interest you. Pinterest has many different categories such as food, art, home decor, and DIY projects. I love getting on Pinterest to find DIY present ideas. The website is easy to use and has some very useful features. One feature that I specifically like is that each pin has a link to the original website which can be very helpful with the DIY projects or food recipes. One con about the website is that in order to create a Pinterest you have to receive an invitation. This can be a little annoying because it takes a couple of days to process, but it is worth the wait. I would recommend Pinterest to anyone, I have even got my mother hooked.
I just signed up on Pinterest and have been trying to use the system but CANNOT GET OFF "THE TOUR." I heard a lot about pinterest and have looked at it often for various interests, but it is so maddening to not be able to use it. There are no instructions on how to get off the tour and just use the thing. I have been working on this for 45 minutes and I'm disgusted
Why does Pinterest suck so badly? A home feed littered with irrelevant ads and related pins that have nothing to do with my interests. I'm a man who like welding, jeeps, and off roading. Yet my home feed is littered with dresses, glitter finger nails, floor mats and closet organizers for the women with more shoes than the creator of the universe. HEY PINTEREST ADVERTISERS, I WILL NEVER CLICK ON ANY OF YOUR PINTEREST ADS. Hey Pinterest staff, fix your recommendation engines... they suck!
Selling a home can be a stressful and complicated experience. Figuring out how to price your home, what inspections are necessary, and pricing is hard for those inexperienced.
The one thing that I like about Pinterest is that when I find the latest ideas in food recipes Pinterest helps me to get a copy of the recipe, so I don't miss the new trend and other variety that you could add to meal options for every day meal planning.
Ok. You're out surfing the web for images for a project you're dreaming up.
And bam! You land on an image. There is your idea farm... SUnddenly the screen goes dark
And you have to join pinterest to see the image...
$#*! THAT!
NOT ONCE EVER.
NO WEBSITE WILL MAKE ME DO THAT> $#*! THEM!
My account has been suspended and I have no f###### clue why?!?! 'Customer Support' just send me a stupid mail with their TOS. BTW, I did not violate them. Thanks for nothing, Pinterest!
I have a business account with Pinterest, so I'm one of those that pays for promoted pins that so many complain about. I set up who I'd like to target and I honestly try to target only people that might be interested in my product. That said, when I look at the promoted pins or suggested pins that Pinterest sends me, easily 9 out of 10 have absolutely nothing to do with my interests, the pins I look at, like or save. I sell custom furniture. When I go to look at my own pins and then look at the pins they put withbthem as "more like this" I can't for the life of me figure out what sort of algorithm they use to match these. Pinterest could be very beneficial for a small business like mine but I've stopped using it because I feel like their targeting is just a joke. If you have a question and try to get in touch with their support team, it takes two or three days to get any kind of a response and again 9 out of 10 times they'll totally ignore the question I asked and refer me to their helps page. I've just given up.
The changes over the past year have made the site almost unusable. I truly wish that Pinterest would stop tinkering with what used to be a good site.
I am currently boycotting the Notifications section until they return it to the prior format; the new one is simply too wordy and unreadable.
I also wish they would give users multiple-choice options for viewing things, such as the recent change on Board covers -- I would rather have the old format of just one thumbnail instead of the multiple thumbnails which take forever to load and make my homepage too busy visually.
They are making a good product terrible. JUST STOP TINKERING WITH IT!
I always open Pinterest while looking for inspiration for my work. The application is very convenient, and the image selection algorithm is incredible. Thanks for your app!
Having had several accounts over the past years, each one has become progressively featureless. More accurately features being removed. After having ANOTHER of my accounts closed for no reason (though claiming to be a content policy infraction) and without warning, I started another account. As you can imagine, I am acutely aware of their content policies. However, when creating an account this time, it appears that the descriptions of the pins, the source board, the number of likes and the number of pins have all been removed. All you get now is a picture. It's fricking annoying to say the least, missing information that I used to find very useful. So, now on my home feed, I can't review pins and click on the ones that I might find interesting without actually clicking on it to determine if it is of interest to me. That is about as stupid as I can imagine. What is this turning into, Google Images? I WISH there was a viable alternative to Pinterest and I'd be on it like white on rice. Coupled with the implanted ads (which you can't readily see anymore) and the suggested for you crap that doesn't actually apply, this is one broken platform. It is no longer in the best interest of the end user. It is merely another advertising platform in which they coral users into viewing products they don't care about. Somebody with the bucks and the brains needs to create a Pinterest killer!
Pinterest redirects me all over the place. I never get to see my pins or anything I have saved. I log in thru Facebook. Never works properly! A waste of time!
I ordered pots and pans that were called Onisa, I was given a fake tracking number and wasn't able to track in the US. Onisa pretended that it was left at my mailbox on 11/25 at 4:57pm. The mailboxes are on the street and packages aren't left on the street. Furthermore, my camera system disputes that and nothing was ever dropped off. I contacted pinterest and still haven't heard back three weeks later. I contacted the company Onisa and they ignored me. I contacted pinterest and was ignored. Onisa has since kept the ad up but changed the name of the company on the ad. Beware of cast iron pans double set $49.99.
It's SO obnoxious and condescending. Impossible to navigate EVEN IF YOU'RE LOGGED-IN! Piece of crap website. Pinterest should really cease to exist. You must hit the browser's back button multiple times to navigate back out of the site. THIS WEBSITE SUCKS and certain search engines have Pinterest littered in the search results only to fool you and when you click on it, it's too late. CRAP WEBSITE.
I've had a Pinterest account for almost 10 years. I hadn't used it for a few years until recently, although I had accumulated a lot of pins.
So I receive an email from them saying they've removed a pin due to inappropriate, self harming content (in other words, some little troll dobbed me in). I would never pin anything harmful so I can only assume (because they didn't tell me which pin it was) that it was an album cover or something like that. They informed me that I need to go through all my pins (there are a lot!) and make sure there's no more inappropriate content or they'll 'take action'.
So I think, I'm over this, I'll just delete my account. So I do that and receive an email saying 'we'll delete your account after 14 days however, if you wish to keep you account log in before that time is up', except there's a red tab saying 'delete account' under that sentence which of course logs you back in. I then receive a flurry of emails from them saying they're reactivated my account! I finally realise it's some kind of ploy to encourage you not to delete your account and stop clicking on it.
The whole premise of Pinterest is ridiculous seeing as you can have your pins taken down for any number of petty reasons and of course, there's the whole copyright issue.
Literally the most frustrating company I've worked with! You would think they're some shady scam company working from a third world country instead of a huge business. I paid all this money for an ad campaign and then they rejected it. When I asked why, they just kept sending me their guidelines. There is no human you can talk to. The help emails you send are just responded to with boilerplate. I eventually ended up deleting my campaign and resubmitting it, WITH NO CHANGES, and it was approved. Then they charge me extra for the campaign. NO EXPLANATION. Then, after I pause my campaign, they SUSPEND my account. When I asked why, they just sent me a link to their guidelines! I told them I had read their guidelines, I was not in violating of anything, please tell me why I am suspended. Again, all they did was send me link to their guidelines.
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! STAY AWAY!
I will never click on anything in a search that has Pinterest name on it they make you use their app and then when you use it it's just as bad leave me alone Pinterest
Answer: I warned everyone about what a piece of crap pinterest is and now their true colors are showing. #PinterestSucks
Answer: I was sent a message on May 29th alerting me of my suspension, with no explanation, only that they would be sending an email explaining why. I sent an email to their help desk explaining I was a long time member with thousands of posts, none of which I considered to be against their policy. They acknowledged my email and said I'd get a reply shortly. I have not heard back nor do I expect to. This is not the first time this has happened and I have learned my lesson. They have no regard for their members and their customer service is nonexistent. Never again!
Pinterest has a rating of 2.1 stars from 474 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Pinterest most frequently mention customer service, multiple times and email address. Pinterest ranks 481st among Social Network sites.
