Photobucket forces their logo on my old photo and then demands money if you want your picture back. Basically holding my photo hostage for a ransom. And not just a lttle bit of money, more like $400. They could have gone about this a number of different and better ways, but they chose to blindside people and their property with a seemingly unbreakable link to their spam. I guess I will have to find my original photo before I uploaded it to their godawful, ad-polluted site. This company was cool for 5 minutes many years ago and I probably would have paid money back then, but now you can forget it. They will never get one penny from me. There are so many other great alternatives now. This is a shameful bunch of scoundrels. Hope they go under.
PB used to be the PREMIERE image hosting site like 10 years ago. And it still operates like it's 2009. It is complete shet on mobile. It is complete shet on a desktop. Nothing on the site works correctly or consistently. I have a couple hundred photos hosted there. It's taken me 3 HOURS just to delete 80 of them because pb keeps randomly unselecting some and restoring whole pages of previously deleted pics. Why would anyone pay for that kinda crap?
I've just spent the last 20 minutes trying to just view a photo someone sent me the link to. Between all the popups and time loading the page, I can see what a headache this site would be! Do NOT recommend!
There are thousands if not millions of images that were hosted on Photobucket, now not showing up on thirdparty forums, blocks and websites. So much content has now become almost useless, and in some cases completely useless. They were already getting ad revenue, but that just wasn't enough for this soulless, blood sucking company.
Changed terms of service, held photos hostage unntil additional payment recceived. NEVER trust them with your photos, they could again get greedy, shut down access to your photos and demand more $$$. Very untrustworthy company.
Photobucket lost my entire photo collection and they did't even have a back up or offer any compensation. They are now ignoring my requests for support and have blocked me from messaging them via Twitter.
So they lost ALL of my data then are simply ignoring me. They should be shot.
My entire collection GONE!
At one point in time, PhotoBucket wasn't half bad. Now, they are by far the WORST image sharing website out there. They are so riddled with Ad's and popups that the site is unusable. Everything is incredibly slow and glitches and errors are constant. This site is a perfect example of "how to destroy your business and piss off all of your customers". Even the paid version which advertises "less ad's" is terrible. What a garbage site...
The absolute worst ever. Extremely so and unfriendly to use. I wish I would have never signed up. I wish there was a way to move all of my photos out of Photosuckit and over to Shutterfly or similar. It seems like they have blocked me from even saving a copy of any of my images. Shameful!
Everything below is true. They disabled the download album feature, for obvious reasons (just read below) and demanded paying money. Infuriating. Therefore, I had to download thousands of photos, one-by-one. However, it was WORTH IT because I did not give them a SINGLE DIME. Happily took my business to Shutterfly.
Photobucket use to be the absolute best when it came to photo sharing, Then they got greedy and they changed the site to make it suck. This latest thing they want $399 just to host to 3rd party sites. Well that is just bull$#*!! I know of many tutorials that will be lost forever. You see Photobucket they have passed on and no one can repost the photos they wanted the world to see. At least they didn't have to live to see this crap!
Worst site ever. Stay away and let them die in their own cesspool! When you say it's free, then it is free. Not till you decide to turn the screws a little tighter! If I could give you less than 1 star I would have!
Worst internet CEO ever John Corpus changed terms for 100 million registered users from free third-party linking to $400 dollars per year. I was one of those registered users, who frequented educational and Do-It Yourself (DIY) sites, where many people donated their efforts and shared their knowledge, now graveyards of broken links, without any grandfather clause for all of that content. Breach of faith and broken promises does not make for a profitable company. Now the site is full of ad-ware and spyware, stay away,
They are a bunch of idiots at photobucket. I used them for a year. After renewing my account, they Cancelled my account and kept the money. They look thru your pictures and then cancel you.
I used Photobucket for years until they mangled the service by taking away the Fotoflex editor and forcing Pixlr on all the unsuspecting and loyal users without so much as a warning before they did it.
Then when customer uproar became too loud they deleted all the user help forums, added Pixlr tutorials to replace the outrage, and locked them so no further comments of questions could be posted by anyone except a Pixlrbucket employee.
I cancelled my paid account. (I no longer am getting what I paid for) and am still waiting on a "Why they did this without asking customers" reply going on months now.
I no longer feel safe and secure on their site and I refuse to use it because at any time they can change a major part of their service with no warning and no apology and not a care for what you think, weather you pay or not.
Decided to use photo bucket because I thought it would be best for the application I was using if for. It was working well for a good few months until they decided to slap on some bag $#*! water marks on my images and where they were uploaded. Furthermore, making it impossible to get rid if them unless I pay them.
Had to download my pics one by one because the purposely removed the download all button to make it hard for you to leave, I kept getting emails saying I had used my free storage and had to pay, In truth I had used only 2%. This kind of bull$#*! is utterly unacceptable from any company. Avoid at all cost. One star is one too many for this company.
Not only destroyed all my photo postings on internet forums (NOT commercial, I'm just a hobbyist) but then replaced several of my photos with their blackmail message and lost my data.
That is *my* data Photobucket, and what you did is blackmail and theft.
Run the Chrome search engine and implement their app to download multiple images. The app will place the 'download multiple' images button that photobucket removed with one of their own. It downloads 100 images at a time. The negative side is that it will download ALL of your images without any way to select which you want.
When Photobucket deleted the albums download button several sources wrote apps to accomplish the same thing. The Chrome search engine has an add-on app that puts the button back in the Photobucket screen and allows download of a hundred pictures at a time. Now I need to find a way to replace about a thousand links in auto forums with my pics new home.
After editing and attempting to save edits get a message that 'something didn't click'. At that time Photobucket locks up and the only way to escape is to close the link.
Contacted support@photobook.com and got this message back:"We are aware that some features of our Image Editor are not functioning properly, including saving edited photos. Our team is looking into this issue. Unfortunately at this time, we do not have an immediate solution and we understand that this is causing a lot of frustrations with our users.
We apologize for this inconvenience. Please know that we are very close to releasing a new Photobucket site which will have an image editor that is fully functional. We are expecting to roll out the new site to most of our users in the next couple of months."
Translated "we know about the problem but are not going to fix it"
Dishonest, sneaky company. Avoid them for your cherished photos and for the hosting of any images! They change their terms with little warning and extort money out of people. AVOID! They couldn't care less anyway.
Along with your new business approach, your new slogan should be "Give us your money or we'll delete everything. Make sure to log in once a week or we'll delete everything."
I would love to give this website more then two stars but I couldn't. I'll explain why below:
The website is fantastic in general. Great picture quality and would be a fantastic way to share my photos with friends, and even the world!
The fact is the website is so slow and puts me off. I have a good quality and fast home connection, but this website seems to slow my connection down. Further to this, I cannot put photos up onto the website when others are on their computers as their connection disconnects when I put some photos up. Lastly, it takes an average 10 minutes for every 15 photos.
Answer: Pay to keep your photos there or lose 2/3 of them, Taken away the option of bulk download which means download 1 photo at a time of 1000's of photos and do it before photobucket deletes them all because rule changes put you over their new limit. Extortion.
Answer: Because it does. They make you click around madly to get out of the "pay us money" options just to get to your library, and then they force ads... 19 of them per page... and won't allow mass downloads.
Answer: I don't recommend using the mobile site, as phones (especially Apple), adblockers don't work and still flood up your screen. My worse experience is the m@ms ads that take over the screen and reappears every time you refresh or go to another page. TV commercials is better than this.
