This is one of the very worst internet companies I have ever dealt with. And this from a guy who does 70% of all shopping online (141 orders from Amazon in the last 6 months).
First, and most important, you should know that their normal turnaround time is 5-6 WEEKS. No, not when they're busy. All the time. ALL... THE... TIME!
There is one thing they excel at; they are the kings of the up-sell. On their website. A call within 24 hours of placing your order. Again when your order is about a week away from processing. And yes, one of their up-sells (not inexpensive) is to speed up your order processing. Tigers!
In the world of automated email acknowledgements, these guys don't bother to let you know they received your order. No updates on order status. No notification when order is being shipped back. Email them for an update and you'll get a standard response reminding you that processing time is 5-6 weeks. Polite as heck, I admit, but still just a flat out stall.
Now these are huge problems by themselves, but add in the factor that they are holding on to irreplaceable photos and the stress beomes significantly elevated. I'm not even that sentimental, but I was squirming from the uncertainty of ever seeing my pics again.
Finally, to cap it all off, when I finally received my pics and dvd back 9-1/2 weeks (yes, NOT a typo - 9-1/2 weeks!) the vast majority of my scans are very seriously over-exposed! Dark, dark, dark... some beyond recognition.
I dealt with this company only because of an Amazon. Local coupon. On my complaint, they refunded my money, and I'm STILL pissed. And I'm usually a pretty calm and relaxed guy. THAT's how much I don't like this company.
I got an Amazon coupon and spent weeks designing a memory book for friends in a South Texas RV resort. We no longer stay there, having purchased a home in a different area in Texas. I kept finding more pictures and kept adding pages, which I paid a reasonable price for. The book came and it was awful. The program was difficult to use but no one reviewed the book before printing it. The photos were clear but were out to the edge, and I wrote an ending in a high sized font and you could not read Then I wrote to them because I was embarrassed to send and during this time I got put in the hospital, nursing home and fell several thousand emails behind. I did not know that if you wanted to keep your pictures on their site, you had to pay a fee. So I found a notice that my time was over. We mailed the book any way and of course now one of the children wants a copy. I contacted them and they destroyed all my photos.and there is no way I can recover any of them. I did find a few that I put in a cloud and also in another company, Snap-fish, which NEVER destroys your pictures. Who knows how many copies of the book they could have sold? Or why not just return the photos but to totally delete them? So they do NOT review a photo book before they print them, they do NOT keep your pictures, they charge a Fee to keep your photos and think nothing of destroying pictures that you have entrusted them WITH and their photo book program is difficult to use. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM. And, I did try to get back on line with them before New Years and I could not sign in. Every photo had my initials on them, so I still do not understand the destruction of the book but then their proofreaders need glasses so it's easier to destroy pictures when you can't see.
Hi Sharon,
First, my apologies for the delay in responding to you as well as for any frustration you've experienced. I was under the impression I posted this a month ago, and am only now seeing my response didn't post. In December, we pulled our photobook making software. Unfortunately, this was a business decision, as we are now solely focusing on our scanning and media conversion services. In pulling this program, any images that were uploaded to the site for past projects no longer exist on our server. Again, our apologies for any frustration this may have caused you and thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with feedback; we appreciate it. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.
Best,
Elizabeth

I did their groupon deal converting 6 video tapes to DVD. I got my 6 tapes back. They got my money and got 6 DVDs that don't work in any DVD.
Hi Rich, I'm sorry to hear you've had problems with your DVDs. Can you fill me in on the details so I can look into this immediately for you? I'm going to send you a private message to get your last name (and order number if you have it) so I can get that info directly, and work quickly to make this right for you. Thanks for your patience and so sorry for the initial experience.
I have spent the past 3 days trying to make a book using a voucher from Amazon Local. I have not yet completed the book due to it being a VERY glitchy system so I can't comment on speed of shipping or quality. They seem to be doing server maintenance right now at 9:30 on a Sunday morning so I can't access my saved projects. Can't that be done at 3am when people aren't trying to access the site? Buyer beware: I bought a voucher for a 50 page book BEFORE my trip. Once I uploaded the pics, I realized I might need more than 50 pages and at the start of the project they offered me a 76 pg book for only $20 more (otherwise each xtra page is $1) so I chose it. After completing 48 pages I decided I wouldn't need all 76 pages and tried to remove the extras willing to pay the $1/pg. You cannot remove the pages once you select the number at the start! I had to start it all over!
I'm also trying to upload pictures and can't seem to use the CTRL or SHIFT key to select more than 1 picture at a time.
Once logged out, I couldn't log back in, asking for my "username". I tried to have an email reminder sent to me, The link came via email but it only lets you reset your password and nowhere in my account is my User Name listed so I still don't know what it is. If it's my email address (which I tried and it didn't work) then please don't label the field "user name"...
I am beyond frustrated.
Answer: Call them to find out.

Hi John S.,
I've already reached out to you privately, but wanted to follow up with you publicly as well. Once again, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We take our customer satisfaction guarantee very seriously and wish to make your experience with us a positive one. I wanted to clarify that every photo and slide we receive does get processed through a heavy duty photo blower before it is scanned. However, if there is any additional dust, specks, etc. after it is processed through the blower, these may be visible in the scans. If you wouldn't mind taking the time to reach out to me personally, I will do everything I can to help make your experience with PhotoBin positive.
Thanks again and have a great day,
Elizabeth Sutherland
