When I only did one back ground check for 99 cents dec 2014... did not realize there was some clause that allowed them to start charging me $23 monthly since then, IF I did not cancel. My fault for not checking paypal. And just today realized they have been robbing me these funds. This is trickery! This cannot be a responsible company with any values or ethics!
I paid 0.99 to reverse lookup a phone number - before I paid it said name of the caller was identified -- after I paid it said unable to get information. Total scam. People Verified only exists to trick people into signing up for their monthly subscription plan. When they find out they unknowingly subscribed its too late - their money is gone and Paypal will do nothing to help. Stay away.
This is one of many background check sites that provides incomplete records on a person for the humble one time cost of 99 cents and is not upfront that you are actually signing up for a subscription for a service you actually only wanted to use once... for the 99 cents. Be sure to cancel it before the trial period is up or you get to pay $24 for nothing. Actually, do'nt even bother at all because your initial search doesn't return any information that you are not already given before you put your credit card information in.
They don't give you anything more than you can get from the person you are interviewing. They charge for giving you easy to find information. I checked on people I know that have had a checkered past and nothing about any of them showed up on any of this sites reports.
I paid $19.95 and got absolutely nothing except person's address and names of neighbors. I certainly wasted my money. I know there is some court records that they should have had. And I know the person's professional license is under review, but nothing about that. I feel sure there is more, but these guys do the least possible and sell to unsuspecting and gullible customers.
The web sites are extremely similar on people smart and people verified. Are these company's the same neither have given me any real results. One of them said they had info on a phone reverse to get name with a cost. I paid monthly fee and then went back to get info and they said it wasn't available.
These are indeed the same company, and if you buy one service, it creates months subscription services for both services.
Even when you pay full price for in creates a monthly account for both services, one at $19.95 and the other for $23.95
I call in February and was offered a full refund, after not seeing a refund in on account I called back, notes from original call did not indicated a refund.
After I got a supervisor online, I was at least abel to get refund for a few months.
Peopleverified.com is a site where you can purchase contact information and background checks. They offer an option to subscribe for a membership to which there is a monthly charge or to do a one time payment for one report. They claim to allow a free search, but you have to pay to see the results. The more detail you want the higher the price you have to pay. For a one time report they charge a little over $25 for general information, but you have to pay more for details.
Just looked at my bank statement... 3 charges from this company... one for the. 99cents... another 20 plus dollars for a months subscription and another for 20 plus dollars that the say I subscribed to... and I most certainly did NOT subscribe to fraud protection... but person I talked to said I did... watch this site... BAD... SCAMMERS.
They just have avertiser reviews for their site, and some review sites which they can buy the rates.
They are scammer.
Their business real name is different so they do not have bad credit to show customers.
They are not on public review sites because they ate cheaters.
I just realized they've been charging me $19.99 a month since the initial purchase I made for 99cents. I called them, they said it was a promotional purchase and since I didn't respond to their email after 7 days to cancel, they just started billing me $19.99 a month. A little shady I'd say...
This was the absolute worst company I have ever had to deal with they robbed me of over a year worth of there useless product that you can get for free and when you tell them to cancel your account they don't and continue charging you WATCHING THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE SCAM AND YOU WILL REGRET HAVING ANYTHING TO DO WITH THEM they say 99 cent trial and still charge you $20 no matter what you do and when you cask to cancel the free trial they don't again PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM
Not interested in this website - I did one review - due to them offering it for free (once) - no longer want any membership or dues deducted from my Visa Account - will notify bank of this fraud!
They charged me $20 per month,. I never joined... they even had there wrong email address! Thank goodness for AMEX who cleared the billing up and blocked them NEVER USE THIS SERVICE!
I was checking out a mysterious phone message I had received and signed up for the 7 day free trial. Of course they show you some "terms" document that you have to say you read. Of course nobody actually reads all that mumbo-jumbo and we click to say we read it anyway. That is what I did, but unlike a lot of other people here, I was not born yesterday... I KNEW without a doubt that the terms would have me signed up for automatic paid renewal after the 7 day trial was up. Duh! Is that like a surprize? I mean, they are charging your bank account or credit card, right? How could they do that unless you gave them the account info to do it? What did you THINK they were going to do with your account info, genius?
Well I was on the computer at work and had to get back to my job so I thought I'd log in to their site from home to turn off the automatic renewal. And yes, I forgot, and they charged my account $20. I do not like this marketing technique, but never did I think that I had anything except my own forgetfulness to blame for losing that $20. I knew what was going to happen, and I screwed up and let it happen.
Well I did try to get my money's worth by looking up old Army buddies and former neighbors and classmates, etc. and I thought the service worked reasonably well. I looked up one former co-worker who I knew had a conviction for statutory rape, and the service did report that in at least vague terms. I think this is a mostly legit service using a slightly sleazy trick to make more money. Perhaps if they did not do the sleazy trick and had to rely on people who actually need to be subscribed to such a service on an ongoing basis then their customer base would be too tiny and they would go out of business and not be there at all when you or I did want them.
A great website for searching for people's background and I like the free 7 Day trial period
It is quick and easy and simple.
It is a scam, they did me 6 charges of 19.99, they sold a free 7 day for 0.99 and end up stealing
Ohh what a rip off i paid 39.99 USD = no information = no report, nothing!
Watch out!
I noted a charge of 19.99 on my credit card. I never joined and I am disputing them.
Answer: A great website for background checks and reverse phone look up at people--verified.com I've used them and worked well for me just depends on what you're looking for in a background check company.
Answer: I was just checking one person - once - and you offered free - you have taken from my bank account 19.99 monthly - I will authorize my bank to not allow any more payments - that is a rip off - I don't even use the system any longer.
Answer: If you look at the legal mumbo jumbo on their site it becomes clear that they are aware of the deceit and have there bases covered. I chalked it up as a loss for me. Fool me once, shame on me...
