TL; DR Mold in produce, 1.5 hour in the parking garage waiting. Never again.
I understand these aren't normal so I didn't mind when they called me to change the pick up time to 2 hrs later. I arrived and called the number on the parking area. They told me my order will be there in shortly (no one asked parking space number so first bad sign). I waited about 15 minutes and called again. Someone answered and hanged up on me. Called again. They said the order was almost ready. After about 15 more minutes, I called again. Whoever answered said they'll transfer me. Nothing. I decided to go to the store and they said they were working on my order. Back in the car decided to watch tv. One entire episode later - nothing. By now I had been there for more than 1.5hrs. Someone was on the parking area getting names and got mine. I decided to go to the store to check again. Finally got my stuff. I got home to mold in my produce and the cans had dents. Some people don't mind the dents in the cans but no one will buy produce with mold.
I get a peapod order every month since I got sick and had to stop working. Until my last order almost doubled I didn't realize a couple things until I talked to someone today an employee that doesn't want to be named told me to be aware of. When going through and placing my order I pay attention to sale items and only purchase those items for my family as I'm given an allowance bi-monthly to spend. When I went to input my order I was informed that I used my allowance in the last order but I couldn understand how as my last order was only $6 over the budget. Now when I received that order I was also upset. I ordered 3lbs of grapes on sale for $1.99 I received 3 huge bags of grapes all different brands totalling way over 3lbs. I ordered strawberries they were buy 1 get 2 free. I received 6 different types of berries organic, candy, Driscoll's, bubblegum, regular but 2 different brands. And these were just 2 different wierd things that I received that changed the price of my order drastically at no fault of my own. I also found out today from the employee they've ha alp of complaints because the peapod system doesn't recognize stop and shop sale items when they shop and ring the order out. On top of the fact the raise the prices for shopping his way you think they'd care about the orders and customers. I don't have the option or ability to shop at another store but ivi could I would bad enough the employees don't care what the produce looks like that their putting in your order and I have found it goes bad so much quicker than if I went in and got it myself. If this is how stop and shop and peapod treat customers regularly it's pretty disgusting. At 48 I've shopped at stop and shop my whole life and I love across the street I'm really reconsidering shopping right now. With the cost of food being high as it is my 178$ order ended up being 320$ and that's unacceptable to me.
To whom it may concern,
On 7/13 my mother-in-law was to have received a dozen roses for her 90th Birthday along with the goodies I usually send her through Peapod. She did not get them. On 8/14, I spent hours on hold with multiple phone calls trying to get her the flowers to her on her birthday! IT WAS HER 90TH BIRTHDAY! I was assured that it was "impossible" to deliver them on Friday but that she would get them on Saturday. SHE NEVER GOT THE ROSES! I can't describe how angry and disappointed I am in your company. I am about to write a seething review and post it on every website I can. I have been a long time customer, as originally a CT native, Arizona transplant, I have always used you to take care of my mother in law. You have lost my business. I don't even want the measly 10 dollar discount your employee just gave me off the order. I expect a written apology to be mailed to my mother in law at the address on my account. You only turn 90 once and not only did you guys mess up her gift, you messed up the opportunity to make it right.
They said your call will be answered within 5 minutes. We are now at 28 minutes and holding. And that's not even the original problem.
Terrible service. The delivered my groceries to another apartment and my money wasn't refunded. Stay away from ordering online with Martins
They scheduled time and changed it 3 times in one day. You have to sit and wait all day for them to come. The won't even reschedule
My order was cancelled for not reaching the minimum cost, BEFORE REACHING THE CUT-OFF TIME. I had planned to add to it but no chance to do that. Of course, I also lost my delivery date and time.
We waited 2 hrs for a pickup at the scheduled time and then only got a small part of our order. We never got a receipt!
Terrible service. Every order is missing something. If it is available on Website then it should be delivered.
6 weeks, 5 orders, 5 reservations, 5 reservations disappeared. Only confirmation of a reservation is the banner on the Peapod order page saying date and time range of delivery... it disappeared over and over. Reschedule, have a reservation which shows on the Peapod order page, then it reverts to "Select a time". By that time there are no more reservation slots which are not "sold out" for the next 2 weeks. SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY MY RESERVATION WAS LOST AND SOMEONE ELSE GOT A MY RESERVED SLOT. On hold waiting for Corporate half hour, they can't do anything but transfer you to Peapod customer service. Peapod customer service hasn't answered a call in weeks... hear a recording, then the phone hangs up. WHY SHOULD I CARE THAT PEAPOD IS WORKING HARD WHEN I CAN'T GET ANY GROCERIES, DESPITE TRYING OVER AND OVER? I wouldn't care if some things are unavailable. I can't get one thing because despite checking out immediately, the reservation keeps disappearing. Peapod: why don't you stop paying attention to coupons, and saying how hard you're working, and fix the reservation system?
3 nights on a row after 1:00AM EST I clicked on the only reserve time still available. It was accepted. In the morning I my reserved time was gone!
Answer: It's a legitimate company. We have gotten deliveries from them when we needed them. BUT ---- and it's a BIG BUT when you are dependent on an order being filled with inventory in question. Are they truly completely out of eggs and onions? Was I charged for them? I'll never know. BECAUSE -- they are 100% unresponsive to problems and concerns. Three emails -- unanswered. One phone call (forewarned about a 36 minute wait-time) disconnected at their end after 77 minutes. I HATE THEM.
Answer: Never got the same day or next day expiration, though, last Thanksgiving I ordered a tray of sweet potatoes and tray of stuffing and received two trays of stuffing. Credit is given pretty quickly.
Answer: Receipts of items sent to the customer are usually emailed to the customer once the order is filled. Also, customer receipts are under the customer orders section of their Website.
Peapod has a rating of 1.4 stars from 114 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Peapod most frequently mention customer service, credit card and many times. Peapod ranks 191st among Grocery sites.
