I just wanted to post a warning about Paypal. A site that, until now, I have had full faith in! They are known for being a safe way to make purchases online-probably the main reason we all use them, right?
Last week I learnt that 'A' PayPal account is taking a direct debit out of my bank account without my permission. The only information I can see on my bank statement is 'PayPal account direct debit' and the amount.
Naturally, I have checked my PayPal account to see where the money was going but there is no record of this YEAR LONG direct debit. I have lost near £400 in total so far.
However, PayPal are not prepared to help me with the matter. They have simply written to my bank to say that I authorised the activity. DESPITE there being no record of the activity in my PayPal account at all! I am appalled.
They seem incapable of understanding that the PayPal Account that is taking MY Money from my bank account is not linked to me in anyway!
I feel as though there is no way of me getting this money back. I feel incredibly let down by PayPal. The company that is meant to keep money safe.
I will be deleting my PayPal account and instructing my bank to not authorise any activity through PayPal in the future.
I will also be warning all of my family and friends about PayPals lack of interest in the fraudulent activity on my account and advising them to also stop using it.
I requested case I told them I had several unauthorized payments they deny it and took the payments off my card, these payments are from places I don't even use
Was scammed out of a considerable amount of money, paypal made me jump thru a bunch of hoops and took forever to get things done, in the end I lost all my money as PayPal sided with a scammer.
Pay Pal works fine for one time transactions, but beware of setting up reoccurring payments with PayPal. If the billing amount changes on a monthly bill, you can easily end up paying the bill twice when you change the payment amount. In my case the bill was paid for the original amount and paid again for the updated amount.
I spent almost an hour on the phone with Pay Pal to find out that their actiquated system does not allow you to update the amount to be paid on a reoccurring payment. When you update the payment amount, what happens is you set up a second payment to the same source. This is like nothing I have ever seen.
My advice is do not set up any account with PayPal to be paid with reoccurring payments. If you do choose to use PayPal's reoccurring payment system, beware that you cannot change the amount of the payment if your provider raises or lowers the amount you are billed. You must delete the current reoccurring payment and set it up again for the new amount.
I never had a problem with PayPal until I attempted to use their reoccurring payment system. If you choose to set up a reoccurring payment through PayPal beware that their system for this is antiquated. My advice is only use PayPal reoccurring payment system If you have no other option.
4 returns after years with them.
Following this I received an email from Pay Pal as follows.
Weve noticed that youve had a higher than average rate of issues with your PayPal transactions. Such problems may include claims you have initiated with PayPal or through your financial institution or bank.
We want you to be happy with your purchases, but we may find it necessary to suspend your PayPal account privileges if we continue to notice a high number of problems with your PayPal transactions. Pending further review, we may also suspend any outstanding and future buyer protection claims, and we reserve the right to deny these claims.
We simply wanted to give you a chance to reassess your account activity for the future. You dont need to take any action, and we dont require a response to this message.
I put this down as absolute genius on the part of the composer.
" higher than average " Average is the mean of a set of numbers, some of which are higher and some are lower than the median. So there will always be some higher and some lower than that average.
Just now
Total joke
Total joke! Tried to send some money to my sister in Ukraine but they did not allowed me... INERNATONAL MONEY TRANSFER SERVICE! The think which is really make angry is that SHE CAN TRANSFER THE MONEY IN TO MY ACCOUNT AND I CANT TO HER! EVEN IF I CALLED AND MESSAGED SO MANY TIMES ASKING THAT IS TRUSTED ACCOUNT AND I GIVE ALL PERMISSION! All what I got is one standard answer - PayPal have rights to block / cancel transactions! Sorry but this is terrible! Waisted so much time to calling txt.
Useless service! Just can't UNDERSTAND why Ukraine is not trusted countries?! Even if I SAID TO THEM SO MANY TIMES - I TRUST THAT ACCOUNT... AND CAN PROVE ITS MY SISTER'S ACCOUNT - But not! They just blocked the transaction!
This is NOT a slam against the legitimate PayPal site. Until I came in today I had no idea there were so many scammers using their name. Toward the end of October 2022, I was online with a company that people who work with clay use. In the middle of the sale, someone acting as PayPal phished me so I cancelled and turned off the iPad. About 10 min. Later, I tried again with the same outcome.
I immediately googled PayPal only to get the people who were phishing me. They wanted all my information, but the woman asking the questions couldn't get anything right. Over and over asked me to repeat and repeat at which point I cancelled that call and immediately called the credit card company and we locked my card. I cannot bring myself to use PayPal anymore for fear of a repeat incident, and this is the shame of what scammers do to, not just the buyers, but the legitimate companies they are scamming. I know I'm not alone. I just don't know who to trust anymore and it's a bad feeling.
I wish we could stop the rape of businesses and consumers. It gets worse every year and they seem to get smarter.
Pay attention to the banners and icons with online merchants you do business with, take a screen shot that you can compare with whoever new, you are considering making a purchase from BEFORE you give out information, which is what I should have done and have since implemented.
Thanks for letting me tell my story
I have used PayPal mostly due to the ability to move money around. I bought a Vortex Red Dot site from a company called Feathern. Site. At the time of the purchase I was not aware that they were based out of China. I finally received the piece and it was not a Vortex Red Dot site... the piece had no manufacturer marking or serial numbers and the photocopied "instruction manual" didn't either. I took pictures of everything and opened a case with the paypal resolution center. Approximately 60-days later a decision was rendered that was not in my favor. I was looking for my money back or for the company to send me a Vortex red dot site. Other than stating that the decision was not in my favor there was no other information about what the decision was based on. I called into customer support to get more information and found out that paypal had decided that I had ordered a Vortex red dot site and since I had received a red dot site my claim was invalid. If I wanted to pursue it then I would need to go to my bank that had the debit card that the funds had been pulled with. What I ordered had been defined as a "Vortex Optics Crossfire Red Dot Sight Gen II×1" and what I received did not even come close to what had been described. Paypals attitude was that I ordered a red dot site and I had received a red dot site which is not a satisfactory response. I have two morals to this story... 1. Be very careful when doing business in China and 2. Do not do business with Paypal. Their actions do not fall in line with their advertising and they customer service is very bad.
Im a black female. I purchased SKN BLEACHING products from this dumb website callled fabempireskincare.com that accepts paypal, and i didnt get my order but paypals buyer protection helped, do NOT buy from fabempireskincare.com. PayPal is deliberately stealing money when doing international money transfers. They admitted doing this mistake on my last 4 transactions, but won't respond to give me the refund. Here is my email to the with the details:
This is my last transaction. Based on your conversion rate (1 TWD = 0.0307 USD), you should have charged me NT$17,652 TWD. Instead you charged me NT$18,714 TWD. Why is this? I've sent 4 email on this and have had no answers from PayPal.
Transaction Details Transaction ID: 7CX*******L*******A September 5,2019 Payment amount sent $575.00 USD PAID WITH MASTER_CARD 2428
I have never have had such a bad experience before, I went to the ATM to take money out and I was told that there is an issue with my account and to call costumer service when I did I was told that I some how did something that I shouldn't have so they but my account on hold for 180 days and then I would get an email telling me what to do from there but that was over three years ago and when I call to find out what is going on I still get told that I have to wait for an email and when I ask why they did this to my account I am told that they don't know and they can't do anything about it I just have to wait, I have been waiting for over three years now, so I would suggest that u look into any of these apps that u put your money in because now I am hearing that I am not the only person that they have done this to!
Be careful don't purchase anything on Instagram / Facebook online articles from Zeyong Technology Ltd, China. I purchased an electric jet panel and paid through PayPal. I received a cheap necklace instead of the electric jet panel. I immediately sent a message to PayPal with pictures of the package delivered with the seller's name, order number and address. PayPal agent advised me to send the package before the deadline and to sent the pictures of the package with the tracking number. I did all, sent pictures and documents on the chat platform. After 3 days they told me that my refund is not accepted because I didn't provide them the tracking number. Then I called the agent, we talked about 20 minutes, I gave her the tracking number and she told me that as soon as the seller received the package I will be refunded. The next day other agent sent me messages that my refund is canceled because I didn't provide them the tracking number and address of the seller. What can I do more? Those PayPal agents don't want to refund my money instead supporting scammers and cyber criminals. Please don't use PayPal, they make business with unsecured companies. I talked and chat with 4 PayPal agents, Nico, Agata, Agnezka & Jessica. All useless And scammers

Ordered a bike 9/28 from https://m.ebay.com/messaging?FolderId=0&messageId=*******170&curIdx=6&qid=*******018 the day it was set to arrive, 10/6 I took off work to wait. At 1:46 pm I received notification that the item was delivered. No one came to my door. I looked outside. Nothing. I immediately contacted the seller and FedEx. I opened missing package cases with eBay and FedEx. After a week I opened a case with PayPal. Today 10/21 I received notification that PayPal sided with the seller. I did everything I was supposed to do. Ordered, paid, waited, reported, updated and nothing. The bike obviously went somewhere but not to me. I'm sickened. Long history of using PayPal and eBay with zero issues yet no one believes me. I'm 53, single father, small business owner. I ordered a bike to commute to my restaurant. I did nothing wrong but I'm out a lot of money with nothing to show for it. Should I hire a lawyer? I don't want to just lie down since I'm not in the wrong. Any suggestions at all are appreciated.
I RECIEVED MONEY AS A GIFT ON MY PAYPAL WALLET. ALL OF A SUDDEN PAYPAL RESTRICTED MY ACCOUNT. SAYING MY ACCOUNT IS UNDER LIMITATION I CANT WITHDRAW MY MONEY NEITHER CAN I DO PURCHASE WITH IT. BUT ELIGIBLE ME TO BE RECIEVING PAYMENT WHICH THEY CAN USE TO TRADE THEIR BUSINESSES AND TELLING ME TO WAIT FOR 180 DAYS BEFORE THEY WILL GRANT ME ACCESS TO MY MONEY. PAYPAL IS TRYING TO RUN SOME SCAM HERE, THE INFORMATION THEY ASKED ME TO PROVIDE LIKE MY ACCOUNT HISTORY, BANK STATEMENT AND VERIFICATION OF ID. I DID LATER TELLING ME THEIR DECISION IS STILL FINALIZE TO WAIT TILL 180DAYS AS THEY EARLIER SAID WITHOUT TELLING ME WHAT CAUSED MY ACCOUNT LIMITATION AND WHY I HAVE TO WAIT 180DAYS BEFORE I CAN CASH OUT OR OPERATE FROM MY ACCOUNT
If I could give them ZERO STARS, I would. I've had a PayPal account since 2007. I use it fairly regularly to make purchases online and send money to my children. In early August I sent one of my children $20 via PayPal and the very next time I logged in I had a bold message stating that my PayPal account was now permanently limited and I was no longer able to make any transactions. I contacted them thinking maybe my account had been hacked at which time they informed me no, that was not the case and they were not giving me any further explanations but that my account was permanently Limited. And by limited I mean not able to use it for anything. They further informed me that I was not allowed to delete any of my banking information from their site and that any funds that I had in my PayPal account would be refunded to me after 180 days. I'm not doing anything illegal with my account nor am I purchasing anything illegal in any way shape or form however they've chosen to limit me completely and then tell me that I can't delete my banking information. What kind of hokey bologna is that?! Although knowing now that is the way they run business, I wouldn't want to do business with them. But it's unacceptable that they're going to tell me I can't delete my bank information. Which means now I need to change all of it. I need to change all of my credit cards and my bank account info because of this supposed trustworthy company. After doing a lot of research, I find this is fairly regular practice for them. And that is quite sad and disgusting
SCAMMED BY PAYPAL i filed a nonitem received when it did turn up i let pay pal know but the good were fake so i told pay pal this but they still found in favour of the seller the pay pal rep refused to listen so i filed a lawsuit with the ftc and pay pal and the rep who refused to listen
Answer: I would not recommend PayPal to anyone for anything they're a joke of a business
Answer: Paypal will NOT be on your side if the item is not as described. I bought an item that was totally wrong, advertised as "handmade, hand quilted, made of brushed Kona cotton", picture was beautiful with wonderful quilting and vibrant colors and I was buying from a company from Texas. I received an item from Texas, not handmade, not hand quilted, not vibrant colors, not brushed cotton and it was just a picture printed on cheap polyester/nylon fabric. Hideous. I paid $99.90. Company first offered to refund $30, nope, still way too expensive for a cheap quilt that I wouldn't even use for my pets. Then said if I return the "quilt" to China at my expense they would refund the money. Cost to return? $70. Paypal agreed with this company, denied my claim and I'm sitting here with something I would feel cheated if I paid $10. Paypal is not the company it once was. Use your credit card as that company will have your back. Looking to see what a better option is than Paypal. 20 year customer and I'm done. I do not think anyone actually reads our messages to Paypal.
Answer: They have become a money laundry scamming allowing company. Stay away at any cost.
Answer: USPS delievered it to the wrong address my pacakge was supposed to be delievered too 35710 Bay Morgan Ln, Fallbrook, CA 92028 when USPS delivered it to an address simillar to this one 12354 Alcatal Street (do not know the exact address since they did not email me, but you can call USPS and ask, and that is how I found out) Fallbrook, CA 92028, right city and zip code, far away address.
Answer: I'm thinking someone has to work there, if you send messages you will get a canned reply, I get the same response from 10 messages, basically "suck it up buttercup, you have just been played" but if you try to actually talk to a person good luck.
Answer: They dont. They wait for you to forget it. You get money back if you fill in a form after 180 days.
Answer: Do never send money to PayPal. That money is lost. This company has become a Giants money laundry company.
Answer: No there is not. PayPal protects scammers. Be sure to never use them.
Answer: It doesn't matter if you report them or not PayPal won't do nothing about it they continued to let the scammers operate on their site and do not protect consumers
Answer: SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THAT LOT, THEY CLAIM TO REFUND AMOUNTS PAID FOR ITEMS THAT DO NOT ARRIVE THATS "BS" I HAVE HAD 3 SUCH CLAIMS FROM 14 TRANSACTIONS AND HAVE NEVER GOT A REFUND DESPITE THEIR CLAIMS, THEY ARE CROOKS, FULL STOP, KEEP WELL CLEAR OF THEM.
