I've ordered Paul Frederick (mostly shirts and ties) for well over ten years. The quality is more than good and there are dozens of styles to choose from. What I really don't like is that I can't tell you how many times I've paid $95 for a shirt only to find it in the clearance section three months later for $29. I definitely agree with many other reviewers: the clothing is overpriced; sometimes waaaay overpriced. The other thing you ought to know is that all the clothing is made in China. Having been to China and actually had custom made clothing there (HK and Mainland), for $95 a shirt they'd also take you out to dinner followed by drinks and a Cuban cigar! Anyhow, nice shirts but comparable to what you might find at Macy's.
I have several PF shirts that are a few years old and I like them a lot, they held up well and are good quality. So when they had a sale recently, I ordered some new ones, as I like their styles, especially the ones with colorful contrast trims.
When the order came, I was aghast. These were listed as shirts that originally cost around $95-125 and during the sale were offered around $50-60. I was expecting similar quality to the shirts I had bought in the past.
What I got was nowhere near that quality.
The quality of the fabric is embarrassingly bad, it is so thin that you can see your skin through it (even as a pasty white guy like me). See picture, the outline you can see through the fabric is from a white label inside the shirt. That gives you an idea of just how thin the fabric is. No wonder there are a number of other reviews on here where people complain that the elbows on their shirts rip after just a few months. If this shirt was $20 I would be ok, but not for the price I paid. I wonder if they get these made cheaply just for these sales, I cant imagine anyone would pay $120 for a cheap see thru shirt like this.
Their return policy also stinks, while they say I will get a refund, I have to pay the return shipping. Its just $10, but still, I don't think I will order there again.
I've been a consistent shopper for many years with Paul Fredrick, however, lately the variation of suit fabrics have been defined to only two types; Essential and Sharkskin. The same suit with different colors. Every now and then a different wool piece, but basically all the same. Please return to better choices or I will look elsewhere.
Linda is the absolute most friendly and effective rep I have seen! The product is quality and when there is an issue it is resolved quickly and with care! Much appreciated Linda!
I've been doing business with this company for a few years and have never had a complaint. However, my
Most recent suit was a disaster. The jacket was ok but the pants we're not
Correct. I ordered a 35" W & 29" inseam. The pant I received were marked 35W but we're actually 33W.
The length was less than 29".
While they say they guarantee the fit they have changed their policy and do not accept returns for pants that are hemmed. So I got screwed on this deal and will not do business with them again. Beware.

I purchased 4 shirts from Paul Fredrick Co. The third time I wore one of them, the seam around the buttons frayed and pulled apart. I contacted customer service and was informed that since it was more than 90 days since I had purchased, they would not stand behind the shirt. The shirt was also monogramed, so they could not put it back in stock. They would put a torn shirt back in stock? I must say, I am disappointed in their response. I expected better quality and service from a company that claims to sell premium products.
Policy states no returns after 90 days, but the problem with the shirts became a greater issue past the 90 day mark. Have bought the non-iron dress shirts with no issues and love them. Saw the Egyptian Cotton shirts on sale at a good price, so I thought let's try it. Shirts after they dry look as if they had been wadded up into a ball and someone had played basketball with the shirt. Iron and starch the shirt, wear it for an hour and it begins to look the same. Wore the shirt the other day for two hours. Took off my suit coat and a friend who knows me well, asked if I had slept in the shirt. Shirt does not stay pressed.
Talked with 3 different people at Paul Fredrick. Policy, Policy, Policy... though they did offer to sell me two of the non-iron shirts at a 25% discount. But, tough out of luck, in getting a refund on a poor quality shirt that was sold to me.
I had done business for about 20 years with another men's clothiers firm; their quality of merchandise has been being downgraded over the past few years, was looking for someone else to buy from. Have liked he non-iron shirts, good quality at a somewhat decent price. Was getting ready to order a suit to see what the product is like. But, I guess, Policy is more important than keeping someone who would have become a long-term customer. Good Bye, Neal Black.
1. Fast Shipping / I ordered 9 Shirts and within 5 days they were at my door.
2. Pricing / For the quality I felt extremely reasonable.
3. Returns / I ordered 4 shirts trim instead of Regular fit, my fault, They took back NO Questions asked & did not charge me shipping.
4. Extremely Large selection of mens clothing.
NOTE TO ALL; If your the type that likes above average quality be prepared to spend to maintain them, by that I mean they Should be DRY CLEANED.
I've purchased many items from Paul Fredrick, great quality always satisfied.
However with your pants the problem is that the pockets are so small that they are not usable. In this day and age most people carry cell phones but, your pants do not have regular sized pockets so that even a small cell phone can be put in the pocket anything placed in the pockets falls out because they are so small. I purchased many pants from PF and have always had to have a tailor sew in regular sized pockets.
I had ordered 5 pair of pants. Size 40 waist, & 29" inseam. The waist size, although labelled as 40", is actually 38". I called & was told to go to local tailor to have them fixed. I don't think there is enough material to increase the waist size by 2-3". They are all made in China, although they are sold as local made, The customer service lady was quite curt & rude.
Have ordered some shirts and sweaters and they have all been just fine. I haven't had to deal with customer service so far. Everything as far as quality and shipping has been fine.
What a terrible company to work with. I ordered a shirt the 22nd, got an email the 23rd saying it shipped... After 20 minutes on hold I was told there is nothing they can do, and maybe a supervisor will call me tomorrow?
I can't wait for tomorrow, so I ordered another shirt with expedited shipping. I made a mistake ordering the standard fit when I should have ordered tailored fit. I immediately called to try and fix the situation and was told the same thing, there is nothing they can do about it.
I can't imagine how a company like this is still in business!
Here is what their customer service rep Michele reply's when I asked her how do you measure Fit Body Chest vs Shirt Chest as I could not find any help on their website.
Reply: Use a measuring tape.
Be careful with this company. Everything they sell is waaaaay overpriced. Then they charge shipping for everything. Even when it's their fault with wrong size they still charge you a return of $25. STAY AWAY FROM THEM
DO NOT BUY.
Charlatan's at best. You will get what you ordered, PLUS MORE. And they will force you to pay for it ALL... and remember returns are $10 of YOUR money for their mistake.
WONDERFUL designs. Could have made me a customer. Instead their crappy customer service, of a $50 item, will cost them a customer.
Just bought 2 shirts. Wore the 1st on today and it is coming apart at the seems
Checked into my motel and asked the front desk for a sewing kit as this was the only dress shirt I bought
I ordered an item from Paul Fredrick on Dec 17th and on the P F Website, it stated that guaranteed delivery before XMAS. Today is Dec 28th and i tracked the order and there is NO Estimated delivery date. I called the PF Customer service and it was not a warm reply. All she said was she also see that there is no estimated delivery date, but she cannot do anything. She asked me to call the postal service and complaint? Very poor customer service.
If you return items, even if they sent you the wrong color or size, they will charge you for shipping both ways - over $25.
Buyer beware!
(Also, shirts are of really low quality.)
I bought two shirts from PF and when I discovered that one of them was ripped in three places, I contacted the company and got absolutely nowhere. Now I have discovered the other shirt I bought from them is also ripped in about the same place. Is there any way to change my rating for PF to a NEGATIVE number?
Mark Twain once said there are lies, damned lies, and statistics. With Paul Fredrick, you get all three. I was familiar with the brand name before I bought from them, about 5 years ago. Their ads suggest/imply that their shirts are of better quality than the average dress shirt and that their customers greatly appreciate the quality of their products. I have always wanted dress shirts with more than the usual neck room, but when I bought a shirt with an 18-inch neck, the rest of the shirt was rather big for me. So, I decided to buy two cotton pinpoint dress shirts from PF about 5 years ago. Yes, I know the warranty has expired, but I have about 30 dress shirts in my closet and many of them are a lot older than the two from PF. This morning I noticed there was a 4-inch rip in the upper left sleeve of one of my PF shirts. No idea how, where, or when it happened. About 10 minutes later, ANOTHER rip occurred in the same exact spot of the right sleeve. I also noticed there was a third rip down closer to the cuff on the right side, along the same pleat as the upper tear. I went online and had a chat with someone from the company who essentially told me there was NOTHING they could do because of the age of the shirt. I am an attorney, and have been wearing dress shirts for more than 30 years. I have shirts in my closet now which are older than the 2 PFs, and I have NEVER in my entire life had a shirt rip like this even once. Was it naïve of me to expect PF to care about me as a customer and try to make it right? In retrospect, I guess it was. Customer service apparently means NOTHING to PF and they absolutely refuse to stand up for the alleged "quality" of their product. What a crock. I will never buy anything from Paul Fredrick again.
Answer: Low grade product, over priced then an amazing 60% off. In the end they are not worth the 60% off price. Also, they do not accept returns on pants because they make to length.
PaulFredrick has a rating of 1.9 stars from 46 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with PaulFredrick most frequently mention customer service and dress shirts. PaulFredrick ranks 2415th among Clothing sites.
