I used my only checking account that has overdraft protection which means the money still comes out regardless if i have it and the last time i tried paying it got returned so they disable my bank and then gave me no other option of paying so i had to close my account with a balance of $65.00 owed after taking my $250.00 deposit so then i check today because i was told that there will be additional payment options once i see my account is closed - lie there is not - but instead i saw now my total is $115.00 versus the 65 i owed yesterday and so i called to try to pay it and was told no i would need a new bank account - i do not recommend this credit company they also charge $5.00 per transaction made which i didnt notice till i looked closely at my posted transactions
It took 22 days for Open Sky to post a payment. An electronic payment from my Bank. So they charged me a late fee and reported to the credit bureaus making my score go down over 100 points. My credit limit, (my original deposit of $300), was also shown as being over the limit after they charged me the late fee. I called and complained and asked if they could change the info to the credit bureau and was told no. I made 3 payments during the month, over $300, but none showed up.
Applied and made Deposit payment in July 2020, was approved and waited for card. Rather than a card a bill arrived. We paid it, and continued to wait for the card. Called customer service to find out about the card and was given the run around. Another bill arrived which we paid. Rechecked the terms, to find one annual fee for $35.00, no monthly. Yet another call, that was no help. Finally, mid November we requested our deposit back, they tried to bill us for more money, we told them they have provided zero service and we would not pay. They say the check is in the mail, but I'm not holding my breath. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
I submitted an application to them July 12th 2023. They denied my application on July 14th because apparently I'm deceased. I STILL have not received the 200 dollars I put down for my security deposit. They say that it will be mailed 7-10 business days from the rejection yet I haven't received anything and it's been a month! Do not waste your time with this company all they want is your money and refuse to give it back. I truly hope this helps someone who is thinking about applying with them to fix your credit. It is not worth it. I'm far from deceased. Just an excuse to keep the money I gave them long enough to make a profit off of it. Find a different company. They originally say can't verify identity so I call in and that was there excuse for denying me is that I am deceased. Insane
I spent 2 hours attempting to get access to my account on-line. I spoke to 3 different customer service representatives and 1 supervisor. After being given access to discuss this account (my wife's) they refused to allow me access. We became so frustrated we just canceled the account and was then subjected to the employee reading a "script" that more or less threatened us if we canceled... that it would somehow damage our credit. Terrible customer service and lack of product knowledge. Stay away!
My card has not arrived after the timeframe given in the terms. The statement with the annual fee to be paid has arrived, though. I waited on hold for 10 minutes to report the card lost. Was told to either wait more time, have a replacement sent (extending the time to another 10 business days), or pay $50 to have a rush put on sending a replacement. My deposit was taken right away and has been setting in their account all this time but I don't have access. I've cancelled the account and will wait the 9 weeks for a check for my deposit (that is part of the terms and I'm sure it will take that long). I don't advise using them if you really need to begin using the money right away.
Customer service is terrible. When you have to google their number since it is not on the app, you know they are not helpful. Took my payment out and the credit was not available for 2 weeks after my bank account had the money taken out.
I tried to close my Open Sky credit card. First, you have to wait an hour for customer service to answer because you can't close an account online. Then they say it will take TEN WEEKS to refund your security deposit. There is no earthly reason it should take that long.
The worse!. I cant wait to close my account and go with First Progress. I will start with the amount of time it takes to report to the credit bureau. It has been almost 2 months and they have not reported yet which I think is completely ridiculous. When i had my First Progress card it was reported within a few weeks. Second the hold time to speak to a rep and amount of time it takes them to credit your account after payments is horrible! Then when the reps finally get on the line they havent a clue whats going on and all give misinformation.
All in all it has been a disaster dealing with them. It has not helped at all and I definitely would not recommend!
I hate that I applied and received this card. Like everyone else is saying this card and the customer service is horrible. I have been calling for three days and no one has answered after being on hold for over an hour each time. They have not reported anything to the credit bureaus as of yet and All of my payments have been on time whenever they decide to actually process my payments. And once the payment is processed it is not even applied to your account until weeks later. This is just not a good card or a properly run company! I am going to cancel this card if I can ever get a hold of someone. Also the App is not helpful at all
This credit card is actually refusing to let me make a payment by phone or on my app, I've been trying for the last month to make a payment and they keep refusing. They won't even let me use a secondary account through these options. However they will accept a mail in check payment from the same checking account that they are declining to accept on the app or phone, that is beyond the dumbest thing I've ever heard, this is why banks go out of business and we as taxpayers have to bail them out…absolute and utter morons in charge of these companies it's sad
Been calling every couple of days to wait on hold for hours. They have yet to fix my account and at this point I don't think they want to. I've had them for two years and after the changes they've made the past two months I'm defintely switching. I've never made late payments and now I'm gonna have to sink one because they can't get their stuff straight.
Loaded $250 onto the card through their site and received the card in 5 days! Others said 2-3 weeks. Got the card, activated it, and used it that day! Their website is user friendly for making payments. All very easy. Do not understand the bad reviews at all.
I got my open sky card about a month ago! I deposited 200 dollars for my credit line, after using it immediately when I received it, I spend 50 percent which was 100 dollars. The following week I paid my balance of even though it wasn't due at the time. A week later my credit score went up exactly 48 points in less than a month once the credit bureau added it on. I am now waiting on the other two credit bureaus to start reporting as well. I'm beyond satisfied. The key is to pay early from what I'm noticing.
Don't ever sign up for this credit card cause its a complete scam they don't help you do $#*! and on top of that they charge every month for doing $#*!. Plus if u want a credit increase u got to deposit more money. This is about the worst card service ever and on top of their customer service is horrible I am talking rude and they never want to pick up your phone call. Why u have to wait 4 to six weeks to get your money back and then they send u a check
I never even received the card! I gave them a second chance a requested a new one. Again it never came! Based on the dates they gave me it should have been here days ago. They offer no apology and just tell me to wait it will be there or i can ask them to send me another one! Three credit card numbers before I ever get to use it! That makes to sense to me! I had them cancel my account. Now I am waiting for my money back. I told them Ill be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and who ever else I can. She laughed. Dont use this place! There are better options!
My experience with OpenSky has been nothing but positive! I have seen good results on my credit reports and my scores are quickly increasing at Transunion and Equifax. Improvement at Experian is a bit slower but getting better. Payments are posted on my account within 2 days. I have increased my secured credit limit and was also approved for a 2nd OS secured card.
I will continue to increase until I reach the amount I desire.
I opened this secured credit card because it was on credit karma and it has been a total nightmare. They transposed the numbers on my bank information and I kept trying to pay them and they never told me the problem. They took my payment then said it was returned so they took it out of my security deposit until it was gone. Then they charged me even more. I called over 6 times to talk to a supervisor and every time the supervisor got on the phone it hung up. They owe me over $300 now. Then they closed my account so they could keep my money. BEWARE they don't help your credit they take advantage of people with lower credit scores.
I don't know why the handful of people talking good but, I had this card and credit went down,done how I was 50 cents shy of paying my bill,a half dollar now I had to pay I believe it was 40 dollars and because my account was 50 cents shy 9n my debit card,I can't even use my debit card any more and after just few hours they told all three credit companies that I didn't pay,but how they expect me to pay without my card I don't know but just one time and I can't use.that debit card do I told them after waiting hour to talk if I close out get my deposit 8 have to wait 10 or more weeks before they will send my refund,that is just crazy,they don't help with credit they help mess it up but they all

Hey want me to put $4,000 in their account so I can use my own money. I didn't mind the first $1,000 because it was tough for me to get a card. I went over by $3.00 one month by mistake and they reported it to my credit report. So much for helping out with improving your credit. They have no intension on helping you. They just want to use your money as it sits in their account. Sucks!
