NEVER be tempted to use this company, they are little more than scam merchants.
You will be charged for services you have never requested and find it impossible to get them to close any account. Every hoop they can possibly apply to try and stop you leaving and even then you will receive demands for money from some Irish based claims company you cannot contact!

Scammers
December 15, 2022

They charged me (for the second time) 250Eur to renew my website, adding extra services that I never ordered.
I did not pay the sum and the put my website offline even if it was not expired yet.
Never never use this company! Keep distance from one.com!

It would be much better if it worked
September 26, 2022

Honestly, creating a site with one.com is ok as long as you are looking for a simple showcase that you won't update.
I created a shop. It doesn't work. The technical department confirms that there is indeed a problem, that they are working on it and that I will have news later in the day.
They told me this three days in a row.
I closed the shop.
one.com is fine for a showcase site. If you want something else, it's not up to scratch.
That being said, the people in the technical department are very nice and you can feel that they are used to apologising.

Cheap as chips, all up and running in no time at all. A fully functional website, domain and unlimited email addresses all within about 24 hours and for about a Tenner! Seriously impressed with that but... my attempt to receive support was not great. Support is there via chat and they do respond but... not really helpful or able to help. Thankfully I resolved the problem well sort of. I switched on spam filer on email and found out by someone informing me that mail was bouncing. one.com support were pretty useless and never got back to me. Thankfully I realised that the spam filter was the only change, switched it off and voila was receiving mail once more. Never heard back from support at all as for some reason unbeknown to me they had to escalate my issue to some other technical department blah blah blah. And you and I know that means passing the buck! It may have been a bit of a catastrophe had they not come back to me and had my incoming emails continued to bounce! If you can provide your own support and fingers crossed it keeps running then its great. If you are less tech savvy and need any help,. Beware. Fingers crossed all ticking over nicely again. Oooo and unlimited email addresses is a nice addition as is free https security cert. I may give tech support another try just to see if it gets any better.

Terrible company
January 15, 2021

Terrible company. They are allowing fraudsters to buy domains and use them to con people out of large sums of money. When this is reported to them, they do absolutely nothing at all to invrstigate, block the domain and prevent further fraud. Of course, I can't call them discuss the matter, because theyre another awful company who dont own a telephone, so have had to report it to the police instead.

Now this review is born from frustration. I actually have been with one.com with three different websites for over a decade... but the prices keep rising and One.Com is now expensive and to be frank: Not very flexible. I wanted to change.

Leaving One.Com is really difficult. The bureaucratic hurdles, the unwillingness to be supportive... and I have never met a company that makes it so hard to simply change the domain name to another registrar as One.Com. They want to see everything, including your ID, and will deny the transfer on the weirdest charges.

They have my ID, my company register experpt and my home address. They still want me to print out an application form, sign it and send it off - to be replied to very slowly, with a denial, because the eMail address in the registry form isn't.co.uk, but.uk.

To be clear: They have my ID at this point. Phone number. Address. Company registry. Everything. But the eMail address has a wrong ending, and they want me to fill the whole paperwork again, send it again and wait another day for approval. For switching a domain to another registrar, a process that works effortless and without problems with any other company on the planet.

So, bottom line: Pricy. Bureaucratic. Unhelpful. Avoid.

They are not a legitimate registrar. After making payments they make it impossible to have the domain names operational. They claim to send a verification code to your phone number which they never do. Without this fake verification code, the service cannot proceed. After payment! For domain transfer to be done, only the EPP code is needed and an email verification, not a fake phone verification. Also note that you can't request to resend the phone verification, it's only sent one time, that's it. So if you don't receive it, you're pretty much done for. Also they claim their support staff is not present at the moment to sort the issues, and before placing the order and making the payment, they were very quick to respond

You have to sign stupid transfer forms to transfer a domain? Jesus Christ. Print, sign and send them. And this you only come to know about after payment, because you assume they're like normal regirstrars who only need EPP Code. Also even after payment you still have no account, so there's no way to track orders except stupid emails which tell you how the support is busy, that you should wait 24 hours.

Dont be deceived by the $5.99 domain registration/transfer. You'll pay more than 5 times the amount you'd pay on normal registrars. Lucky I did my purchase via Paypal and disputed the payment and got a refund.
In any case, if you want affordable webhosting starting at $25 per year, with free domain me up on https://vetohost.com

This company has put in automatication of their annual subscription for a domain. Even if you have never used it, they will keep charging you every year. Their competions do not have this insane policy.

So now I have to pay for a domain I never use plus interests... A VERY BAD COMPANY. Will never use their services again, and will warn people to never use them.

Beware of One.com
October 17, 2016

Like many others, I went for their free one year web domain, with their promises of "no strings attached" "Money back guarantee - no questions asked" "No hidden fees". As a freelancer, I set a company up with a free domain and used my own name to initially set up the domain. The company never switched the info to their name and never used the services. Suddenly I am getting harassed by One.com since it's been a year and I owe them $36 some plus a $12 late fee. I figured like most free trials, if unused/unpaid for, they just cancel your account and that's that. Not keep it open and continually come after you for late payments. Granted, perhaps in the fine print they mentioned that you had to cancel 30 days before the expiration period or get charged, but it's still a super shady business model. They are profiting from other's misfortune with their shady services. After contacting them, they did offer to remove the late fee but had very little remorse, and when I tried to pay, my credit card held the payment due to potential fraud by Chase. Way to go, One.com. There website was easy to use, but their business practices are terrible.

Terrible customer service. It's been four months since I requested a domain transfer to another registrar, and this merchant gave me nothing but headache. I even lodged a complaint with ICANN. Each step of the way there is a new request for information. For example, I sent One.com my contact details back in December, and they just requested that I fill out the form again! I asked to release my domain name sometime in December (way before the registration expiration date). Recently, I received an email requesting my consent to the name transfer. Duh! When I tried to submit the consent, it would not let me unless I signed on to their service agreement. Why would I want One.com when I can get the same service for less than 30% of their outrageous price? Not to mention the endless procrastination and lame excuses. One of their stupid emails said that I had a balance "past due". How can I owe them anything when I indicated a million times that I'm no longer interested in having them as my registrar? I do not recommend this company. Way too expensive (a 500% jump from 5.99 a year to $36.99 a year) and they're clearly not listening. If they were, they would have released my domain name transfer instead of procrastinating. Their latest excuse was that they have to follow ICANN procedures. For the record, I had none of this headache when I transferred from Namecheap to them. It was a smooth process. They conditioned the release of the domain to me agreeing to their Registration Agreement, which contains language that I find completely unacceptable. Besides, a Registration Agreement is not nothing I would expect to sign when I'm leaving but when I first came to them.

Automatically renewing of contracts - Both myself and the OFT think that the "terms and conditions" of "one.com", to automatically renew the contract of a web site, if the buyer does not cancel 35 days prior to end of said contract is not to the customers benefit. Myself and many others have fallen into debt by their ability to bury this fact in their small print. Also their debt company in Denmark, even though an email address is given, does not reply to any emails sent to them and make it most difficult to pay the demands from them. WEBSITE PURCHASES BE VERY AWARE OF ONE.COM's "TERMS AND CONDITIONS"

Rating: (1/5)

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with One.com, and I must say that I am extremely disappointed with their unprofessional and inconsiderate staff. The level of rudeness displayed by their team members was beyond belief, leaving me feeling frustrated and disheartened.

From the moment I reached out for assistance, it was clear that customer service was not a priority for One.com. The staff members I interacted with were dismissive, unhelpful, and lacked basic courtesy. Their responses were curt and lacked any genuine effort to address my concerns or provide a satisfactory solution.

Not only did they fail to resolve my issues promptly, but they also demonstrated a complete lack of empathy towards my situation. It felt as though they were more interested in rushing through our conversation rather than genuinely understanding my needs as a customer.

Furthermore, the overall service provided by One.com fell far below expectations. The website performance was sluggish at best, often resulting in frustratingly slow loading times. Despite reaching out to their support team multiple times regarding this issue, no concrete solutions or improvements were offered.

In addition to the poor service quality, the lack of transparency from One.com further added to my disappointment. There seemed to be a consistent pattern of miscommunication between different departments within the company which only exacerbated an already frustrating experience.

As someone who values professionalism and excellent customer service, I cannot recommend One.com based on my personal encounter with their staff members. Their unprofessionalism has left me questioning their commitment towards providing satisfactory solutions for customers like myself.

I sincerely hope that One.com takes this feedback seriously and makes significant improvements in both their staff training programs as well as overall customer support processes. Until then, I will be seeking alternative hosting providers who prioritize professionalism and considerate treatment of customers above all else.
