“Northern Lakes Vet Hospital in Ashland NH”

I love this vet. They have the best loving caring staff. They love all my animals even my chickens! They have seen us through our loving and incredibly missed dog Diesel and our loving cat Max both cared for until they had to be layer to rest. They sent us a beautiful card of condolences for both. Dr Lester has seen my chicken Ana for beak trims and sick visits, my rooster Peepers for 2 fox attacks ( he survived). I have had to get several different medications from them and they have not been unreasonable including the IV fluids we had to give Diesel before he passed away from cancer. They were so good with him, he hated going to the vet because he had never been to one, they were very patient with him and gained his trust in the short time he was there, except for nail trims, he just didn't like those at all. Now they care for our new kitty Liberty and our new dog Dippy. They love them like they are theirs. They know me when I call or come in, calling be by my name and my animals by their names. They did both of their spay and all of their shots and honestly was not that unreasonable. Our animals get the best care here and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my fur or feather babies! In May of this year my coon cat Two Socks started haveing raspatory problems and our regular vet was not seeing animals full time so found on line Northern Lakes Veterinary hospital in Ashland New Hampshire and we took our cat there and they did and exam x ray but no blood work and told my wife our cat had asthma and then it started, shot after shot of steroids and also steroid pills compound liquid and he slowly kept getting worse and the last two steroid shots only lasted six days and then the cat stopped eating and drinking for six days and had lost a lot of weight and we called them again and they said they would make and appointment for us to come down again for a shot but we said no that the shots were not working and I had told them before the breathing of the cat did not sound like in his chest it sounded like in his throat when I used my stethoscope but did not take what I said so my Son got us and appointment with his Vet and they did x rays and BLOOD WORK" and told us he had a light case of asthma but the real problem was he had a growth just above his heart that looked like CANCER and it was blocking his air way and his system was so run down we made the decision to put him down. So now my and my Wife's baby is gone and the hole in our hearts will never be filled. The blood test showed his white blood cells were way off the wall indicating the CANCER. If Northern Lakes had done a blood test when we took him in we mite have saved him. We are devastated and we have talked to a Lawyer and contacting the state licienceing board in New Hampshire. My Wife has a heart condition and she may end up in the hospital over this. Northern Lakes Vet hospital has all good reviews but they remove the bad ones as I sent them two so I say stay away from them. David And Linda DeMontigny. PS I did not add that Northern Lakes bubbles its prices on there pet meds and will not give you the perscription to get it at a pharmacy somewhere else that you find that is cheaper. The Steroid shots were $48.00 plus 68.00 for the visit.
