I started noom in November, 2022 and have loved it! I don't mind the overall price considering it includes an app where I am able to log my meals while the app calculates my calories for me, log my weight, learn new recipes, and best of all… learn so much about my eating habits and what I can do to work toward changing them for 8 months! The only piece I've had a bit of a difficult time with is the cost of the Behavior Coach. Unfortunately, the cost of the behavior coach is monthly and pricey but my Behavior Coach has been super motivating, and helps keep me on track with my individual goals. Therefore, I have decided it's worth the money in order to feel better about myself and work towards making healthier choices. Noom has helped me to lose weight and have more confidence in myself while other programs only ended up making me feel like a failure. Noom is based off research and everything is written by psychologists and it has never made me feel guilty for making choices that aren't as healthy, it just helps me to stay on track and remember that I am human and it's ok to have foods that aren't as healthy sometimes too. I have referred a number of friends and family to noom already!
I just need to let those out there considering NOOM to pay attention to the first two letters --- 'NO!" They tricked me into signing up for multiple types of accounts (when I thought I was renewing their discounted one for another 8 months). I know they settled a lawsuit for $62 million for such practices... but of course I found that out AFTER I'd been tricked and apparently they haven't fully changed their ways. I asked for a refund for being tricked and they delayed it until I was outside their "30-day refund window" and then refused to refund the expenses. INFURIATING! DO NOT SIGN UP! I went back and forth multiple times with their so-called "support" - NOT! I asked them to elevate my claim and they wrote back once more and then closed my ticket. HIGHLY recommend AVOIDING them!
I think overall Noom did some things well and some things didn't work for me.
I think the main thing Noom is good at is both incorporating compelling content into short snippets throughout the day, which included some helpful tips, at least one of which I am still doing (weighing myself every day). I thought the app was easy to use and very user friendly, and I suspect the accountability option - and having a human being check in on you (even if it felt a little automated) could be useful.
However, I didn't feel like it was actually the most helpful in action. Logging food felt pretty clunky compared to my past experience using MyFitnessPal.com, and it just didn't seem to be based around a lot of nutrition science in a way that I would like.
Tip for consumers:
Do the longest free trial you can find to see if it's worth it for you. You can also get a better deal when you cancel the trial usually.

Online nutritional coaching
I tried using that for non-standardized measurement units ( Cups, Teaspoons, Tablespoons, etc.) but that's all I found useful in this service.
Also, the "free trial" is actually a subscription that will renew after the trial ends. Would be highly appreciated if you mention that with a bit bigger letters during the purchase.
The website is actually nice and pretty user-friendly.
They don't cancel your subscription when you request it. They won't refund your money even if you call on the day of the charges hitting your card. They continue to charge you long after you cancel and you have to fight them through your bank. They are quite smug about it on the phone.
They charge you a ridiculous fee every two months without a reminder. You can get a gym membership for that price. The entire app is totally common sense and isn't worth the amount of money. Their business model is that you forget to cancel the subscription. This absolutely isn't worth $700+ annual fee.
They will send an email 24 hours before they renew your service and then charge you for a full year if you don't cancel within 24 hours. For me that email came on Thanksgiving when no one checks their email. They charged me for another full year despite me not using the service and when I called the day after my card was charged they refused to give me even a partial refund. This is a scam

I signed up for a Noom subscription and followed it to a "T" for 5 weeks. I made the decision to join after reading positive reviews on their site and fell prey to their empty promises of being able to help even those with issues such as age and menopause. I didn't lose any weight and started getting depressed. I reached out to Noom customer service and asked for a partial refund for the duration of my subscription. I got a 'canned' response stating their return policy. I asked to speak to a supervisor to reconsider my request and got another 'canned' response. I reached out one more time asking if the 'person' who replied to me was authorized to make decisions on refunds after their 14-day policy and yet again, did not receive an actual answer as to whether or not I was speaking to a supervisor and got the 'canned' response about how very sorry they were but could do nothing. Noom may work for some, but not for me. My recommendation is to review their policy very carefully before committing to a subscription.

Identical review as Laurie. I joined in Nov of 2021 and prepaid 1 yr. After 6 months I stopped using their app as I felt it was not working for me. About a week ago I noticed a charge for $150+ on my paypal acct. I called Noom immediately and they refused to refund my acct. They claim that I had agreed to this renewal automatic from first signing Up, which is bogus. This is a scam...I will never use this app or recommend. I saw the BBB has thousands of complaints against them. Please do your own research before joining
Tip for consumers:
Don't
I gave my cc and was charged twice for same person, same date, same email & same cc.
The app didn't work for me at all. Literally, it didn't work.
I emailed them I believe 7 times and nobody ever called back. All 7 times.
I just called them now and they said the charges were outside of refund policy. I explained they charged me twice - I didn't matter. I explained that their app never actually worked and were were unable to use it for even 1 second - I didn't matter.
VERY DISHONEST! Do NOT give your cc to these scammers!
Tip for consumers:
They are dishonest. They are simply internet scammers.

UPDATE: Noom did reach out to me in response to my reviews and they did refund the money
I have had a rough year with the loss of my family member.
I forgot that I had a noom subscription (it worked for a few weeks then didn't like most diets)
Suddenly they take money from my paypal account and will not refund it. I have asked 5 times and asked to speak to supervisors and decision makers. No one will help me.
Please learn from my mistake and cancel your subscription. They will keep you active until the last day when you can renew if you actually like it.
Tip for consumers:
cancel immediately! They seem to make their money on auto renewals without advance notice.

I tried it. Don't bother with the hype, it's old school behavior modification. Most of their "help" is canned. So I called to cancel, sent and email and got a "sorry to see you go". That was last year. Guess what, today they "renewed" my membership to the tune of $175! When I wrote to say that I cancelled it a year ago they said "so sorry, the auto renew wasn't turned off. No refunds are given for auto renews but we'll cancel your membership for next year." WTF! How do you "auto-renew" an account they closed a year ago. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS! It's a FRAUD and they continuously take your money!
I have spoken to 3 different people at NOOM, and have received three different answers as to the cost with my PROMO code, whether it's still valid or not and more. In addition they say my info was deleted and I would have to wait a month to reuse my email address or use a different email address, which I don't have. ( I never did delete any info.) I feel that they are purposely confusing and even when they say they will have a supervisor call me back, they don't. I do not trust this company with access to my payment method where they can automatically make deductions
I went to this site to see what it is all about. They offer a 14 day free trial, but when I went to finalize, they wanted my credit card info. They state that this is so that there will be no interruption in service. This sounded fishy to me, so I went to the BBB site, and there were lots of bad reviews. The BBB gives them a B-, and they are not accredited.
A lot of younger people are not aware that logging your meals and counting calories is a 1970s approach to dieting that has actually been proven to not work for most people.
I tried this app for one day and I was disgusted. Here it is in a nutshell.
You pay over a hundred dollars a month to log your meals and calories into their app while they give you hilarious little tid bits of information that can be found on a Google search for example: raw vegetables are healthier than cooked ones. That's it!
Please boycott these scammers.
They took an old school diet that most are too young to remember didn't work and they repackaged it and rebranded it to try and make a buck.
Weight loss is definitely about changing your habits but the commercials for this product are clearly false advertising because counting calories won't help you change your habits.
Tip for consumers:
I did end up getting a full refund.
Signed up for a 7 day free trial of Noom on 3/16/23 at 3pm in the afternoon. After one week, I have gained 2 pounds, so this morning 3/23/23, I got on noom portal to cancel my account, which was done. An hour later my credit card is charged. Now I cannot log in my account because it is erased and they will not refund me my money. I told them today is my 7th day and technically doesn't end until 3pm when it initially started last week. Well, boy was I wrong. They proceed to tell me I needed to cancel 24 hours before my free trial ends. Well that means I don't get a full 7 days to see if this plan will work for me. Not to mention the first day you do nothing as far as tracking etc, just read a few articles. Very disappointed Overall and now I've been charged $130 for something I can't even access. Unbelievable.
I used Noom for a few months and honestly it started me out great but then I wasn't using it and removed the app and thought that I cancelled my subscription. But then was charged $149. Within an hour of receiving the charge I asked for a refund and found out how to cancel cancelled NOOM will not refund my subscription fee. I realize (I own two subscription services) it is not "policy" to refund but this kind of customer care is really unkind. Just my two cents. Noom goes from a 4 star to a one star in my book!
Tip for consumers:
Don't forget to cancel if you don't no refund is possible.

As a minority - one who uses a flip phone, desktop computer, and land line, exclusively, I'm not a customer for Noom's services. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of this before signing up for the free trial. I was not informed that only those with Smartphone's can use Noom. I am now aware of how the world works and that a certain segment of the population can't use this service. That said, I emailed customer service and got a quick emailed response telling me my trial was cancelled and the fee was refunded. Can't complain about that.
I actually liked the Noom program. I decided to go at it this time without a coach. I liked that I could record my weight and meals. I even read all of the articles on a daily basis. I signed up for the annual subscription since it was cheaper. What I did not like was the fact that it was automatically renewed at the cost of $214. It states that you are able to cancel and takes you through the process. But, you are unable to cancel since they say the contract stated automatic renewal. It would be canceled in a year's time. I then made a phone call and was told the same thing. I informed them that I was going to cancel through my PayPal account. They then refunded the $214 as a one time courtesy. This was time consuming. I suggest, if you do sign up for Noom that you are aware of the recurring charges.
The Noom Program does not work. They promised coaching, a team leader and a support group. My coach continuously changed as well as the team leader and groups. At one point I had no coach, no team leader or group with no communication from anyone. I contacted customer service to ask for a refund and the representative could not understand what I was saying and hung up on me. I went to their website and it said to email the CEO (included the direct e-mail for the CEO) but all I heard from were more customer service representatives who tried to offer me or a family member 3 free additional months to a terrible program. I had to ask 3 times in 3 separate emails to cancel the program and NOT charge me any more money! Still have not heard from the company CEO as they advertised. Very poor customer service and a terrible program.
I received a discount for an extention to the trial, after purchasing it, I didn't receive it. Now they claim it was for an add-on not an extention. No Refunds!
Before purchasing make sure your lawyer reviews it so they can translate the jibber.

BIG WARNING: There is a very strict cancelation and NO REFUND policy. They don't want you to stop paying them. I made a one-time first payment, and then they billed me again the following year. I called within 14 days, and they refused to reimburse me. They kept saying I can only get reimbursed if I canceled 14 days after the original first year. The program helps you rethink what foods you should eat and not eat like many other programs. The recipes are similar to those you find for free online.

What Is the point of asking so many questions and in the end asking for money. $#*! u - the creator of noom. $#*! hole, $#*!ing $#*!. Waisting time of people and in end begging for money. U mother $#*!er son of a whore
After casually reviewing information about the Noom Weight program, I agreed to a trial subscription, after which I never heard from the company again, which didn't concern me, as I wasn't really interested in it. Then six months later, I'm informed via email that I've been charged $169 for a 6-month subscription that I'd never agreed to, and that I was now being charged another $169 for another 6 months of a service that I had never used and never wanted to use. IF you're the type who enjoys paying to be spoon fed diet advice that is freely available in a thousand different books and online services, then by all means hand over your credit card to Noom. If not, stay well clear of this money pit.
They charged my card $177 for a four month renewal with no notice and refused to refund it even though I contacted them the day the charge posted. Terrible service.
It's a scam, you quickly lose interest but even after cancellation Noom will randomly charge you an annual fee. When and if you catch the fee their customer service will conveniently tell you refunds are against their policy and offer you a credit to one of their upcharge products. Ultimately you are stuck trying to dispute the charge and get the money they stole back. BUYER BEWARE!
Tip for consumers:
Cancelled subscription over 5 yrs ago and just got hit with another $129 annual renewal fee. Customer service was once again no help and just sends a canned script about how their policy is to not provide refunds. Avoid the frustration and avoid the Noom app

With no heads up whatsoever NOOM charged me a renewal fee of $150 I have not accessed Noom in over a year as I found zero value in it. I contacted their customer service and after a lengthy chat was basically told "haha too late, we have your money". I asked for any other contact information but just received an auto chat pointing me to their refund policy (which is NO REFUNDS EVER). They clearly scam people and their profits are based on charging credit cards of unsuspecting folks. Despicable!
