The front desk personnel are the best. Usually the highlight of my trip is catching up with them.
Rating would be "0" if available. We rented a car for one day for an agency near the St. Maarten airport that represents National, Alamo, and Enterprise car rental companies. Upon returning it someone quickly pointed out that we had to pay for repairs of a dent on the right front fender. It was hardly noticeable (the car was white, and the sunshine was bright). Because we had to hurry to our cruise ship, we didn't have time to locate the video that had been taken BEFORE we drove it off the lot. Once aboard our ship we did find the video. We were charged $150 for the repair. We disputed the charge with our credit card company (Costco's card - Citi). Citi Bank did not ask for evidence on the dispute form. They reversed the charge. Weeks later they said that the agency would not reverse the charge, so Citi charged us for the repairs. We again disputed the charge and said we had a video that proved that the car was dented BEFORE we drove it. Citi said that they did not accept videos as proof and would not give us a credit. We sent the video to the agency and received an email from the Branch Manager indicating that we were correct, and they would reverse the charge. After waiting a reasonable time, we contacted the agency about the credit and were told that because of carnival they were too busy but would take care of it later. Citi Bank refused to reconsider even after we sent the Branch Manager's email to them. My advice: NEVER RENT FROM THIS AGENCY and DON'T EXPECT CITI BANK TO SUPPORT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Picking up vehicle was a breeze and returning it at the end was just as smooth! Huge thank you to the staff upon my arrival and departure! Highly recommend this airport location for your car rental needs!
National's systems (web site, electronic communications, data link to vehicles) seems to be well thought out. The Emerald Aisle process to grab the car worked perfectly. I hardly had to interact with humans, but the team members that checked me out and in were both super.

This is our second time using National at the Sarasota airport. We joined their emerald club and got to choose our car when we got there. The staff checking us in when we returned the car were the best! I was traveling alone with my daughter and they helped me keep an eye on her while I unpacked all our luggage. I plan to use them again.
