After a bad start, PurMist has come through and replaced my original defective inhaler with a new one. So far, it is working well and it really does help with allergies as advertised. I honestly think that they are trying to correct the issues with the inhaler and improve their customer service and I commend them for their effort.
Failed within 15 days. Customer service phone # is designed to frustrate and discourage. Finally after 10 attempts was sent a return shipping label, 6 weeks later- nothing. Although I have the tracking # showing delivery and email regarding return label- no luck on refund or new unit. It is sad because when It did work, it worked well. Obviously there are manufacturing quality-control issues and an inadequate and unacceptable customer service problem. I imagine that they are overwhelmed with complaints and problems.
I got 2 of the pure mist one for me and one for my daughter we both have asthma this thing only worked for a year I payed over a hundred dollars for each one of them and they only worked for a year seriously! This is nothing but a scam now they make all that money and not caring about the people they scammed! And I bought them from Bed Bath & Beyond!
My second puremist purchase within six months has failed. First one would only work after trying and letting sit for suggested amount of time and failed completely within 2 months. This one I purchased in Feburary and today stopped after a couple of minutes use. Blue light just started blinking and all efforts to revive have failed. It is an expensive item and I don't think I can recommend for that reason. (I read directions carefully and followed totally)
I bought a purmist several years ago so it is the classic that uses electricity. I've used it a few times when I've had sinus problems in the fall. I recently moved to a different state and somehow lost the plugin. I called the toll free number that was on my material and was referred to the website. The website didn't offer this item for purchase. I emailed customer service and they immediately got back with me and sent me a plugin free of charge. I have not had any issues with customer service and I highly rate them with a five-star rating
I think this would provide relief, however, it only worked for a short time. After paying $150 for the unit, Im not going to pay to send it to back to the company. The troubleshooting tips arent useful either. Very disappointed.
The only thing I don't like about the one I have is that it doesn't have a head band to keep it on mouth so my hands are free, I had to make a custom elastic band for that.
My unit broke and was giving a blue flashing light and that led me here where I found no solution, I am a DIY guy by nature, I decided to open and see what's wrong, circuit is encased in a plastic box with gasket to isolate it from water, I was guilty of washing it before I got this blue flashing light, I dried the circuit very well while being extra careful not to break any of the thin wires and tested it, all good, then put it back together and I was enjoying the mist again!
This machine works nice and I don't get it with the bad reviews, just handle yours with care and it will be fine, mine in over 1 year old now.
As a (retired) respiratory therapist, I was always taught to EMPTY a heated humidifier and refill from scratch, rather than top it off (unless it was a closed system such an F&P or Concha). So, dutifully, after each use I would drain the water out completely after the "cleaning" cycle. I have contacted the company several times over the past two plus years, and have even had it replaced under warranty once. Despite MANY short cycles (with water still visible in the reservoir) then going to "cleaning", I persisted, dutifully waiting till the cleaning cycle ended, dumping the residual water, refilling from scratch and the short cycle repeated. This was extremely frustrating, AND used up a HECK of a lot of precious water. A week ago, after repeating this little comedy of frustration several times, I called product support, and this time, probably by accident, I asked the right question: "Do I empty out the residual water after the cleaning cycle is through, or at the start of the cleaning cycle?" This triggered a response I had not heard or read before: Do NOT empty the residual water if you plan to use the Mypurmist in the next day or so. If you have emptied the water out and want to use it days or months later, fill the water reservoir and let it sit for an hour or more to reprime the fill mechanism before turning it on. Since using this approach, it has worked really well with no short cycles.
Mypurmist inhaler has a burny smell, The first 2 inhalers only turned red after about 2 weeks of use, The new one is worse, Water is fine but the unit is burning and has shut down. Blue lights are blinking. Only the drying cycle works. Being able to breathe would help.
I am on my 2nd unit and both have broken after 1 or 2 uses. These units work great the first time but then start flashing blue lights and just stop working. Apparently this means they are broken.
After spending $150, I'd think it would work 100% of the time. Based on my experience, I'm 0/2 at this point. You are better off getting a basic steam inhaler from Walgreen's for 10% of the cost.
Good luck getting a response from the customer service either. I've sent 3 emails with no responses.
When the purmist works, it's great however it's life expectancy is 2-3 weeks. The first one got so hot it wouldn't turn on, the second one did not produce steam at all, I've had the third one for about two weeks and it won't turn on. I'll be calling them as soon as they open. There is a two yr warranty if you register on line but I suspect they send you refurbished models.
The required refills state that 20 bottles give you 100 treatments, it does not. It takes a bottle per treatment so that's $2 a day plus electricity to charge it. A bit expensive.
Own 2 units. Last one quit. Only used distilled water. Contact Tech support 5 times and other numbers many times with no answer. Spent $300 on 2 products. You give no support. If I don't get contacted I will contact BBB. My phone *******046. Never in my life have I purchase a product that will not let me contact them. Richard Lampe
Bet my 1st unit still in Texas used for 1 month will stop working as the second one did. Believe me if I don't get help I will go after MyPurmist. Anyway I need to.
Unit purchased new for me, by my wife, based on the many airings of the commercial touting its effectiveness.
After the 2nd use, it lost some of its its steaming properties but was still effective. After the 5th or 6th use, it started to smell like when you burn something on the stove.
Then last attempt to use it, it released hot air but no longer steamed the pure mist water bottle water.
Customer service is lacking. Expensive for a product that should have functioned as promised for much longer period of time.
I bought from bed bath and beyond and within a few uses the unit stopped working. The company sent me a replacement which I used ONCE and is now ALSO BROKEN! Hadnt even gone through half of the little bottle of water that comes with it. This is a really temperamental product and way too expensive for how poor quality it is. I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing. I would not have wasted my time and money.
My purmist is not working I've had it for one day. Tried to get in touch by phone can't do. I sent a long letter to their website and when I sent it I got a reply saying did not come through their site thinks it spam. Terrible place taking it back and never will buy from that company sounds alful shoddy.
I purchased the cordless MyPurmist and received it April 3. It functioned until April 5th and when not turn on, Just flashing blue lights.
I contacted MyPurmist and was informed they would not honor the warranty because I'd purchased it from Amazon. The device and customer service really sucks, Would never buy again or recommend to purchase
I paid $150 for MyPurMist and it worked for less than 2 weeks, then only the dryer worked. I returned it and exchanged for another MyPurMIst. I never know if it will run for 1 minute or 10 minutes before the dryer automatically stops. Most recently, it will run for 3 - 5 seconds, then the dryer goes for almost 10 minutes. I have had the unit about 8 months and use only distilled water. It's useless.
I'm a singer and I purchased the MyPurmist-free in 2019 and the steam was produced only twice and it sounds like it's working but not a oz of steam came out. What a waste of money.
Don't waste your money. If it worked the way it's supposed to it would be great but after a few uses mine quit working altogether. The plastic piece that secures the mast to the unit is designed stupid and cracks easily. The power cord assembly is designed stupid and after a few uses my purmist doesn't work. The purmist was a good idea if it was made to work but all in all its a piece of expensive sh#t
My first purmist, pluged in as per instruction and Right off the batch... Blinking blue light. Called all numbers listed & no human to assist. All need by e-mail?
Update... after back & forth emailing, purmist informed me this unite out of manufacture warranty. Well apparently, France has some deferent policy...
I paid about $150 for the mypuremist personal humidifier and it really did work quite well. The website also does say that the mypurmist will work with distilled water as well as their own branded water for sale on the site. I found it easier to just buy arrowhead distilled water. The only concern I had with it was the little red light did not light up when I turned it off. The mist was really warm and it did help my sinuses. I wish it was battery powered and more portable so I could take it with me. I think one of the key features of this device is that the water itself is never too hot and therefore can be used safely on children. That is a rare feature in personal steam humidifiers.
MyPurMist has a rating of 1.5 stars from 57 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with MyPurMist most frequently mention customer service, blue lights and distilled water. MyPurMist ranks 16th among Allergy sites.
