Saving the points to wanted them every week, was the one thing our family did together. Every Sunday night my wife and 3 boys would all gather around the dining table. We all would take turns reading the codes to my wife as she entered them. Since the reward system ended I haven't seen my wife, and the three boys won't come out of their rooms. Do you have any idea how bad it must drink up there? My love has been in shambles, lost my job 2 weeks ago.
Coke has no idea the ripple effect it has caused.
Seriously the new program sucks.
The old program was amazing! The new one is nonexistent. All they really needed to do was add the option that codes could be scanned with a phone in addition to manually entering them. Instead, they got ride of EVERY good reward they offered. Now, you can only enter contests? No thank you! I spent a lot of money on coke. Thirty-five years worth, to be exact. This is what they do for their loyal customers? I'm happy to say I quit drinking coke after this happened. I haven't had one since. I used to drink 5 a day too. I feel so much better. I guess I should be grateful.
Absolutely pathetic change made by Coke. A multi billion dollar corporation can't even afford to give out 1 free 20 ounce soda once a month to loyal customers? Completely worthless. Lost my loyalty as well as many others as you can see
Used to be one could save a bunch of old caps & enter them together. Not anymore!
Now it looks like someone in management has made that risky, because if you don't enter them right away, the system kicks them out as old, giving you the message: "Sorry! The promotion is over. Your code is no longer active."
Publicly this program promises 1000's of prizes! Failure at its best. McD ap failure. It has nothing to do with McD ap. Who gets you to download it and register. Coke who is doing the promotion fails to even complete once a customer finishes registering to see what prise they may have won. To call it crap would improve what they have created. A tease and no follow through. I would call this constipation participation. What a failure!
Not worth the effort of even scanning the lid. You never win and you max out on attempts to enter your favorite giveaways. This is not a rewards program; a rewards program actually incentives loyalty. This program is more irritating than incentivizing..
About 20 years ago my dad passed away due to diabetes complications, at which time I stopped sugared soda (yeah, I know, should stop soda altogether!). So I've been a diet soda addict since. My taste buds happen to love the flavor of Coke Cherry Zero the best, though I will go to Diet Cherry Dr Pepper, Diet Mt Dew, and other from time to time. Like you all, I have spent many hours typing those codes into MCR for many years. A number of my family and friends have diligently collected up caps for me (because they love me <3 :) ). The new rewards program sucks so far (though I did get an extra 500MB Verizon Wireless data for 5 caps!). They should have just said, "listen, we're not giving away stuff like we used to. It was fun, but we have to stop now". That would have been much better than all the hype about the so-called new and improved rewards site. It definitely sucks so far. I have a few gallon size zip lock bags of points ready to be entered. But if the rewards site never accepts them again, I'll be ok, life will go on, and I'll definitely find other more productive things to do with my time. Will I boycott Coke? Absolutely not. Will I by competitors diet drinks? Sure will, when they are on sale, or that's all I can find. Move on people, it'll be okay. Thanks Coke for the good tasting products :)
Hey, we still get to enter all those numbers and letters. That is the fun part, right?
The rewards are secondary,
I had a serious health issue was lucky enough to survive 4 months in the hospital and constant care facility so inactive and Coke just voided all my points I had collected for over a year. I'll drink alligator piss before I'll buy any of their product again.
This mom doesn't like clutter. Why should I hold onto garbage (cardboard and caps) on my desk to enter in codes that don't reward my family anymore. This mom is opting out of Coke Rewards, disappointing.
The new rewards program was "marketed" to be better than the old one. The old program had great gift cards, coke products, etc. that you could spend points on. After reviewing the new program, I can only conclude that Coke thinks its customers are stupid. Why would anyone save codes for just a chance to win a prize?
Thanks a lot, Coke. You have made your disdain very clear. After 40 years, I will no longer spend my hard earned dollars on your products. It would have been more honest to shut the program down, rather than mislead and insult.
Loyalty should go both ways.
You overcharge for your product, then dangle a carrot of rewards to try and "gain our loyalty" then when you pull it away you expect us to stick around? I feel sorry for the people who are addicted to soda and won't stop buying the product as a matter of principle. If you want change stick to your guns. Start making ice tea or buy one of those home soda machines until we give them a reason to change, like hurting their bottom line. Otherwise they will just laugh in the face of "soda junkies"
The one star review is correct - it doesn't get any worse than this! I saved all my old codes that I didn't use before and kept saving more - what for? There are no rewards I want - oh wait, let me rephrase that - there are no rewards period - they are all contests! Like I'll ever win. What the hell is this? I even called them twice to complain - well apparently I was the only one each time. Even though I did it once before... so how can I be the only one? Anyway, once in a while, if you catch it right, you can put in codes for a $5 Amazon code or a movie ticket. Big whoop. What happened to the hundreds of actual rewards to choose from? Now it's 99% contests or give to charity. There is no reason to continue to specifically drink Coke anymore.
The new program is an utter and ridiculous sham on loyal customers. The offerings have been reduced to only a few meaningless drawings and nothing of substance such as gift cards or merchandise or offered. Coke has taken many steps backward in appealing to their loyal base and is insulting. I would give it a minus zero if I could - it is less than no sugar added.
Very disappointed with this new program. Big waste of time. Enter codes with a chance to win something? The old site you knew you were getting something. My family drank a lot of coke products so we could redeem the points for some pretty nice rewards. Will not be so selective when purchasing drinks. I will buy what is on sale when I go shopping. No longer a coke fan. Does not even deserve a rating of 1.
Terrible "prizes," clunky interface, and tedious work to participate. What a crock of crap for people who want to make it a fun experience. Coke - take a hint from every other good website out there and get some real engineers to take care of your multi-billion dollar investment. Right now, its not even worth surfing through that $#*! pile which coaxes people into sharing crap about Coke that no one really wants to do. Get your $#*! together.
Now the codes have to be entered one by one for each reward so you have to stock pile them in real life instead of digitally in your account. The program really blows! They must have been seriously spending money on this program because it looks like a huge budget cut went down.
Even though I'm sure many of the prizes were paid for by the actual prize company in the old program in exchange for their advertising, Coke doesn't have to worry about losing a penny in their rewards program now. Perhaps it was a staffing issue? I don't see the "reward" part anymore. Everyone is opting out, so I'm sure in no time they will state that they are discontinuing their program due to lack of interest. Seems like their plan at this point. Too bad!
I have no interest in Twitter or sharing anything. Now the points limit is down to 70, so my family gets behind every week. Now I get the message "promotion ended". I'm I suppose to keep these pieces of cardboard in date order? Yes, they are 14 character codes, what is the Coke method of aging out the codes. I think this "promotion ended" thing is actually a Federal Trade Commission violation. The overall value of the rewards is so low it may just be time to switch to Royal Crown Cola with my Moon Pie.
Whoever came up with this re-worked "rewards" program should be fired. Obviously seriously out of touch with reality to think consumers will go to the trouble of entering codes for the garbage they are offering on the new site. Rather than insult our intelligence by attempting to dupe us into thinking we are getting something new and better, just sunset the program entirely.
Answer: I still buy Coke products... but I've starting buying other brands and now split my Coke product purchases by 50%! If more customers did that, maybe Coke will wonder where their fizz went.
Answer: I'm not sure. I know prior to the change I was getting a lot of emails announcing they were updating the program with new rewards, etc. it seems like they either upped the points on my favorite rewards and/or put more restrictions on point submissions. "Update" seemed to actually mean "downgrade" the program.
Answer: They're arrogant and think that they are too big to fail.
