I wish I'd read reviews first.
Sent a perfectly good condition phone and luckily I took photos before I returned and they state that everything in good condition but screen cracked even after I provided the photos they say they have qualified technical staff. I have declined the offer and waiting to receive my phone back. Which I'm hoping is in the condition I sent it in. Offer was 145.00 reduced to 40.00.
Appalling. Sent me a faulty item so I returned it. They claimed the item I returned wasn't the one they'd sent me. I repeated told them they'd made a mistake. Instead of looking into it, they just sent the item back to me again!
Finally, they agreed they were wrong, but now won't refund until I return the item, which, as I am away from my address, won't be for 6 weeks.
Entirely their fault that their records were wrong and that they re-sent the item to me without resolving the issue.
Now I'm out of pocket and have to hope the package is at my address when I get back. Then I have to return it. Then hope they get it right this time and refund me.
Meanwhile they'll have had my money for over two months!
Shambles.
They sold me a Moto G8 power. I spent ages setting it up on WiFi but when I put a sim in it, it turned out to be a brick. I had to wrap it and send it back but rather than replace or repair they just gave me my money back wasting hours of my time. Not even offered an alternative or discout for being messed about. Shockingly poor customer service
Bought an iPhone 7 found out it was stolen tried for 2 days to get a returns note with no avail customer services is a joke they talk over you when you are trying to tell them something. Tried to talk to a manager for two days, guess what is alway not available, always at a meeting probably thinking of other ways of keeping your money longer. I have threatened them with the police for selling stolen goods, doesn't seem to make any difference. Don't buy of this company if you want good service and quality, and most of all don't take the risk of receiving stolen goods
I am currently waiting on Music magpie's customer service department to get back to me. It has been 3 days now. I like many others was quoted a pretty competitive amount for a perfect working order I phone 11. I took pictures and videos of the phone pre posting to them and was quoted £310. I have now received a much reduced offer of £97 due to supposedly cracked screen which isn't there and the camera not working properly which isn't true. I have requested proof of these issues which unsurprisingly I am still waiting for. These guys are absolute crooks, trying their hand at getting decent goods on the cheap. Will never ever use again and never ever recommend anyone using in the future. Absolutely shocking, don't get lured in by the high offer. They hope you are too lazy to request the item back. There is nothing stopping them damaging the phone and then claiming it was always that way. Worst consumer experience I have ever had. Have been cut off on multiple calls with customer services. With I has seen this website - stay away for Music magpie
Sent an excellent condition IPhone XR 128GB, literally has a few tiny scratches on the bottom near the charge port, they quoted me £175, got an Email today saying they've revised the offer to £52 as it passed everything except front microphone not working properly!?
Funny that as it worked perfectly fine when I last used it a few months ago.
The microphone must have stopped working over these last few months, you know while the phones been sitting in a bubble wrapped envelope in my bed site table because I forgot about it.
Shame as iv always had a good experience buying from them.
BEWARE SCAMMERS. DO NOT SELL YOUR ITEMS TO THIS COMPANY
Company advised they did not have the item I sent them despite Royal Mail proving they signed for it. They are just stealing devices and selling for maximum profit
They sell dodgey dvds, to send it back by tracking, it costs a lot of money so you send dvd back by ordenary post, they say, they didn't get it, they are in the clear, easy money to be made here, don't buy from them
Never again buy anything from this company. I bought a iPhone 8 refurbished from them and after 2 months the phone don't work, when I make calls to people and cannot hear me and when I receive call the same problem, very slow and long time to response. I paid 179 pounds for this rubbish phone, they don't want to refund my money but fix the phone, or send me another probably as bad as this one. Avoid to buy from this company.
Do not trust the claimed on year warranty from Music Magpie.
I bought a phone, it was fine. Stopped working 6 months later. Sent it back no problem they they reported back that it had been accidentally damaged so the warranty was void. I know the phone isnt accidentally damaged so i asked for details and they then reported and sent me photos that the tamper/waterproof seals and stickers inside were damaged and that it had been repaired by a third party so the warrenty was void.
I know that we have not sent it to be repaired anywhere since purchase from MM, why would we as its under warranty with them?
So either they have sold us a faulty phone OR the repairers have damaged it when inspecting it.
Now they have closed the request and refuse to deal wit the issue any longer... unbelievable!
DO NOT TRUST MUSIC MAGPIE there are plenty of examples out their of similar cases to this if you look hard enough.
If I could give no stars I would. They received my device and claimed it had a dead pixel, despite knowing it was in great condition prior to this. Ask to accept the offer, to which I had to wait for them to do this, live chat is absolutely awful! I then receive my phone back! I send it back to them after expressing my confusion, they then say it is lost despite tracking showing delivered! This was almost 2 weeks ago and I still get no productive answers from live chat and have not received payment! Avoid avoid avoid!
I was selling an iPhone 11 pro max and was offered £375. I also had a 10% voucher and a £5 referral free which brought the offer up to £410. I received a revised offer for £320 because the phone was unlocked and I had bought and used the phone on the 3 network. The phone is pristine and has no marks or scratches. Upon talking via chat, the customer service representative informed me there were also 'quality' issues. When I said it felt like a scam, she cut me off! Appauling service. Use with caution, especially for higher value items. This was all before Christmas so it felt like they just wanted to pay as little as possible knowing how many people are desperate for money. One for Martin Lewis perhaps?
My boyfriend sent an iPhone 11 to you months ago and we are as of yet still awaiting payment which I don't think we'll ever receive.
From start to finish, our experience with you has been abominable, and quite frankly you are not fit for purpose.
After 2 weeks of sending the phone and receiving nothing we queried it with you- no phone contact, just pointless emails- in which we were accused of fraud, a disgusting way to treat your customers. One of your assistances claimed she had spoken to Royal Mail, and they had said they had not received or sent the parcel. This was an absolute lie. We have spoken to Royal Mail ourselves who have said they have not had any contact with you over this issue. You then refused to help us.
After going down a legal route, it did get your bum into gear a bit more, but you claimed that because the weight of the parcel was a little below what you expected an iPhone 11 to weigh you weren't going to help us further.
We then got the serial number of the phone which we have given you, and now because there is an iCloud account in use you are accusing us of never sending the phone… I am absolutely appalled. The phone has been stolen, and I'm pretty sure it's by someone in your warehouse, and you are refusing to do anything. It's obvious the phone has been stolen. We have proof of postage, proof of changing contracts to an iPhone 12, serial number of the phone, emails between us and Royal Mail, legal action… everything you've asked for and yet you won't do anything and are accusing us constantly of fraud.
But what is more irritating is your pathetic excuse for customer service. Just useless, badly written emails, with no use of common sense or basic level intelligence.
It now looks like we will never get the £350 for this phone, and asking around, people have had very similar experiences with your company, strange that.
All in all, not only are you thieves, but it seems you also make a habit of lying to your customers. I think you're company is not fit for purpose, and there is obviously an issue with staff members stealing, and you're doing nothing about it.
I hope this review helps people decide against buying, and most certainly selling to you. Because, I promise you will have some kind of issue with this company. We just seem to have had a particularly awful experience.
I enquired as to why I received less money than I was expecting. They said that 15 discs were missing. I 100% dispute this. Also they said loads were damaged, so they wouldn't pay me for them OR return them. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
I ordered an iPhone 12 Pro Max from Music Magpie and the phone went missing in transit. It was very clear from the Royal Mail tracker where this phone had gone missing but Music Magpie still insisted on carrying out a 14 day investigation. This phone was a Christmas present which had to leave my house on the15th December but the company would not send out another phone until the investigation was complete. Eventually they offered me a refund saying they did not have any of these phones left in stock. However on checking their website they did have the phones in stock but at an increased price. So basically they were refusing to honour my transaction. Beware this company use Royal Mail for their deliveries. I will not be using this company again.
They say their phones are professionally refurbished and checked.
Extremely far from the truth and the headaches they cause to have a phone assessed is totally unprofessional…
Once they have your bank details you are screwed!
Be extremely careful if you buy and my advice would be not to engage with this shabby outfit…
I wouldn't bother buying there "refurbished" phones, I spent £800 on the S21 plus and after a month of use it let water in while filming in light rain, they told me it's accidental damage but cant explain how it got in on an IP68 rated phone and won't repair, replace or refund me so buyer beware, non of there phones are fit for purpose with there so called refurbishment/pristine condition sales pitch.
Company will offer an insulting amount of money for a phone which is in great condition. They will get back to you and advise there is a random technical fault which a normal person does not understand let alone have the ability to check. Phone has been checked by an apple technician upon return and fault mentioned was not present in phone. Scam. Avoid and save wasting your time.
They determine scratches on tablet screens as cracks and devalue as a result despite selling criteria stating they accept deep scratches just a waste of time and refused to look at it again
I scanned a couple of hundred CDs using MM's app. I boxed them up extremely well (lots of bubble wrap, sturdy boxes, lots of tape). Upon arrival at MM HQ it seems, according to them, some items barcodes had fallen off (seriously, they said they couldn't pay for items without barcodes - hmm, so how did I scan them if they weren't there?!)
Also, about a dozen of the CDs had escaped the boxes (they must have picked away at the parcel tape and ran for the hills). 'Coincidentally' some of these escapees included the more expensive items. The items that now were without barcodes were 'binned', they said, and would not be returned to me!
Check their small print - it says they do not have to return items, which roughly translates as 'we can lie and keep your stuff'.
Answer: They quote you a price then say it does not pass the quality checks. They will also not send the items back as they get 'recycled'
Answer: On eBay ‘webuybooks' are often much better described in regard to quality, I've had nice quality games (clean and good condition). If there is any minor disc scratches/marks they do state that so we know before purchasing. Their pricing sometimes changes so at times you can get a great deal if your lucky and grab it before someone else does (similar to MM). They don't hold as many games as MM do and won't always beat their price but they have been reliable in my experience
