My son sent xbox and games in a bundle all in good order. Were informed xbox was smashed on arrival. As we had packed and cushioned it with games surrounding this was obviously a lie. After a lot of calls we finally had a different colour smashed unit returned which they said was ours.
THEY ARE A BUNCH OF THIEVES WHO SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRADE. WHI STEALS FROM A KID?
BEWARE SCAMMERS. DO NOT SELL YOUR ITEMS TO THIS COMPANY
Company advised they did not have the item I sent them despite Royal Mail proving they signed for it. They are just stealing devices and selling for maximum profit
I sent my MacBook Air to Music Magpie, which was tracked and delivered to them on 21st March. Under their terms and conditions, you are meant to get paid the same day if it's delivered to them before 2pm. However, having not received a payment in 6 days, I wrote to their customer service team.
They advised me that they would need to investigate and that I need to send the Serial Number of the Macbook, proof of purchase and the courier receipt. Whilst I thought this was a little strange, I provided them with all of the requested documents.
It's been 27 days and counting and I still haven't had a penny off them. Having read other reviews on here, it appears to be a common activity at Music Magpie, and leads me to believe possible fraudulent activities are taking place.
Looks like I will need to pursue this matter with the authorities and take these scammers to the small claims court to get my money!
DO NOT TRUST A WORD THEY SAY!
Sent my Huawei p20 pro which they offered £90. Said my phone was faulty absolutely nothing wrong with it. Offered me £9. Wouldnt waste your time cowboys. Have requested my phone to be returned.
It is impossible to contact them over a problem email always bounce back and the chat system doesn't work
The amazing reviews are phony this is a dreadful company and don't deserve any business
We leased an iPhone 8 Plus for my son. After a few months he decided he wanted to buy himself a newer model so we turned the iPhone 8 off and left it in a drawer ready to return at the end of the contract. A few weeks after this we needed to turn it back on to delete his banking app, but the phone wouldn't turn on. I raised a return as faulty and sent it back. Three weeks later I'd heard nothing, so I contacted the Live Chat who said they'd not received it, even though the tracking said delivered. They cut me off without resolving the issue so I emailed them (it's IMPOSSIBLE to speak to anyone). This then resulted in them telling me the phone was clearly broken due to our negligence and they would be charging me £238. I spent three days going back and forth with different people via email trying to establish what the damage was, how they can prove it was broken by us and a breakdown of these costs. I got various contradictory answers but none that gave any clarity.
I've woken this morning to find they have taken £238.74 from my account to cover the cost of repair! I am absolutely livid. This is tantamount to daylight robbery and I will be seeking advice on whether this is legal.
DO NOT USE MUSICMAGPIE!
This is my second attempt at purchasing a phone through music magpie, i thought not a chance it could be terrible twice, the first time must have been a freak accident. How wrong i was. I ordered this phone on the 9th April, and due to the awful non delivery last time, i decided to pay for express next day delivery. Today being the 17th April, and still no phone. I contacted music magpie and demanded a full refund to take my business elsewhere, and they said they had issues sending it out but would refund my delivery, and get it to me within 3 days. Well 3 days is here and still no phone, and no refund at all. Despite several emails requesting a refund (all ignored with not even a courtesy reply).
Customer service does not exist. How can a company ignore several customer emails? If i could give less than 1 star, i would. My daughter is back to school on Monday and now has no phone, after not receiving this one, and them refusing to refund my money to purchase one elsewhere.
Magpie by name, magpie by nature!
If you value you data protection don't give them any, this company is incompetent, useless and I wish I had never heard of them, they double bill me every month in error, there is no one to talk to, and they have no regard for the FCA who govern them DONT DO IT!
They send unusable products and then take longer than two weeks to process a refund.
Staff are close to useless, their complaints team are arrogant and quite frankly it's been the worst experience I've had from a retailer
AVOID AVOID AVOID
I don't even want to give 1 star
I send my iPad Air special delivery on 6 of January was delivered 9th
Still not have pay for it and they try tell me have to investigate even after I send prove they received it last email I received from customer service was on Tuesday and still nothing
Definitely not first person happened to so must be something wrong there try rubbing people
Below this review they will lie that they will contact me to sort this out as have already done this whit my husband
I sold my phone to music magpie over a week ago using their QR code postage option and it has left the post office but hasn't moved from "in transit".
I have tried multiple times to contact music magpie to find out what's going on and if I can claim... no response.
I've tried to claim through their website but they require proof of postage... I can't find my proof of postage. I shouldn't need it anyway as you get an email saying "Thanks for dropping your order off" the second the post office scans your QR code.
I am at a loss of what to do as there is no phone number to contact them and no 'speak to a human' option on their "live chat".
IF YOU WANT HASSLE FREE SELLING, DO NOT USE MUSIC MAGPIE!
I sent my iPhone 8plus and was quoted £230. About 2 weeks later had an email saying that my parcel had arrived but that it failed testing. When I enquired how it failed testing as it was working perfectly i was told that i had not sent a phone but a pair of AirPods, as i lost the phone and received no money from music magpie I asked for the AirPods I apparantly sent to them to which they refused saying they weren't mine. They have made me so angry!
I wouldn't bother buying there "refurbished" phones, I spent £800 on the S21 plus and after a month of use it let water in while filming in light rain, they told me it's accidental damage but cant explain how it got in on an IP68 rated phone and won't repair, replace or refund me so buyer beware, non of there phones are fit for purpose with there so called refurbishment/pristine condition sales pitch.
I enquired as to why I received less money than I was expecting. They said that 15 discs were missing. I 100% dispute this. Also they said loads were damaged, so they wouldn't pay me for them OR return them. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
Dishonest company
Avoid avoid avoid. Bunch of scammers. Trying to charge me for item I haven't had. They need shutting down. How dare they scam vulnerable people
Switch and bait company. Everything they claim is a lie. The worst return service and the worst customer service company. Will never use. Customer beware! From £430 to £40!
Got a quote for my imac computer £240, just thought I would sell it as flat to small! Packed it mega securely with bubble wrap loads of tape with 2 big labels FRAGILE and THIS WAY UP - 9 days later £48 as cracked screen and bent casing! After numerous emails the last one saying its not the courier as box is in tact, so I said well that confirms it really -as it was almost perfect when I handed it to courier and as well looked after (I wish I had given to someone now who wld of liked it as much as I did) I hv declined their offer and oddly enough it will arrive back to me within 3 days! She asked if I had photos but stupidly I trusted them and thought the advert on TV says a MM courier comes to collect so why would I think it would get damaged! TOTAL SCAM AND SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN..
1 star is being polite
1 star is being polite. Sent an Apple Watch and there was a delay as I had to remotely remove the iCloud account. Since then though no payment has been offered and nothing received. Impossible to contact and all emails and complaints are now blatantly being ignored. Misleading advertising regarding selling items. At present I have basically handed over an Apple Watch to a large company and said goodbye to it. Think very carefully before selling high value items. Since this review I have sent 20 to 30 emails to all of the addresses I can find and rarely get a reply. If I do it is a generic email saying they will escalate it. They simply will not mention or discuss payment. They have had the item 8 days now and for the life of me I cannot get the money out of them. My only option now is to go to trading standards, but it would seem that with regards to my item I have to face facts that they have it and will not be paying for it. Probably one of the happy 5 star customers on another site has already bought it.
They determine scratches on tablet screens as cracks and devalue as a result despite selling criteria stating they accept deep scratches just a waste of time and refused to look at it again
Bought an Apple Watch from them.
Two weeks in, watch died. Completely lifeless, wouldn't accept a charge. Sent it back using their packaging etc.
They told me that the serial number on the watch didn't match the one they had sent me!?!? I only owned the one watch, bought from them and sent it back to them! They effectively accused me of fraud!
Gets even worse. They then say they will send my watch back to me,... but they never have. This was a month ago now. I have no watch and they have not issued a refund. Their phone number no longer accepts calls, and every time you email, you get a brand new person "thanking you for for your email" and "it will get looked into etc".
What they didn't quite have the guts to accuse me of was fraud. How they have acted is CRIMINAL.
Do NOT take the risk with them. To receive some tech from them, it not to work and then them say serial numbers don't match "according to their spreadsheet" absolutely floored me.
Just avoid them and their poor Admin and terrible customer services!
Answer: They quote you a price then say it does not pass the quality checks. They will also not send the items back as they get 'recycled'
Answer: On eBay ‘webuybooks' are often much better described in regard to quality, I've had nice quality games (clean and good condition). If there is any minor disc scratches/marks they do state that so we know before purchasing. Their pricing sometimes changes so at times you can get a great deal if your lucky and grab it before someone else does (similar to MM). They don't hold as many games as MM do and won't always beat their price but they have been reliable in my experience
musicMagpie has a rating of 1.3 stars from 251 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with musicMagpie most frequently mention customer service, royal mail and next day. musicMagpie ranks 61st among Sell Cell Phone sites.
