Ordered an electric dethacher. Use it for less than 5 minutes and saw that it was destroying the good lawn in addition to removing the thatch. Cleaned it up, boxed it back in original shipping box, called company and now am getting the run around for returning it. How in the world would I know how it was going to react unless I actually used it. I hope this turns our good so I can return with a positive review; however, the attitude of customer service tells me otherwise.
I purchased this item from Mowers Direct. This mower will not start if the temperature is under 50 degrees. Also the wheel alinement is totally off. To go straight the wheel needs to be turned to the left as if you were turning left. We have managed to get this mower started twice. I Contacted the seller at Mowers Direct and he accused me of putting old gas in the mower. Really! Like I am stupid to pay $3400 for a new mower then put old gas in it. He then said to take it to a dealer. I don't think so! This was sold as in perfect working condition. Anyway, the dealer cannot get to this for weeks. This company does NOT stand by their products. Finally, I went through Paypal to try to see if I could retrieve a refund. I can only if I pay the shipping fee which this seller will not even cover even though this mower is a piece of you know what that will not start. This is like ordering a new car and when it arrives it does not start I would want my money refunded.
Mower's Direct sold me a high priced Honda residential lawn mower that had a rod knock right out of the box. The only resolution they offered was a Honda USA phone number. They would not arrange for replacement or repair even though they sold it and it was defective out of the box. Don't buy from this company. Home Depot and Northern Tool said they would have replaced the mower immediately.
Ordered zero-turn mower and bags. Received bags that did not match the mower sold me. I was told that the bags are for mower model i purchased was from last year leftover and the bags are for current year model.
After several discussions, I was instructed to send the bags back. I was promised for a full refund as it is their fault. However, they insisted and charged a 25% restocking fee!
Never encountered such a merchant in thus country before!

Action Required We apologize for the inconvenience. Toro has been notified of the problem and we should have a resolution very soon. We appreciate your patience.
Action Required I apologize for the problems with your bagger. Toro included a part that is not needed for your model mower. Please try installing the bagger without this part.
131-3967-03 Stabilizer Bracket
This bracket is only required on some of their 2015 models. I hope this solves the problem. Please let me know if anything else is needed.
After a lot of research on the mower (not Mowers Direct) I bought a Husqvarna from them which was delivered promptly. The mower got through half the lawn and then literally blew up leaving a hole in the side of the casing. Mowers Direct gave me the run around for 3 weeks (as my grass continued to grow). I finally gave up and went to Home Depot where I know they will replace a blown up lawn mower on the first mow. I'm out $350.00.
I have gone from a 100% satisfied customer to a negative %! After researching the best mowers for my needs I called different on line companies to get "live" feedback and guidance. Mowers direct were great - until the deal was transacted! I choose the cub cadet and mailed in my check to receive the better value discount [super marketing] on June 25. After they received my check [cleared Jun 30]. I NEVER received a call from MD but called them July 9 for status on my mower delivery. Spoke to Jim and Jared on July 9 & after they researched my order, was told it was on back order. Apparently the mower was on back order before my check got there & wouldn't be in stock until mid-August. No problem though, if I didn't want to wait they would refund my check. Thought about it and called back and requested a refund. Jared stated "my refund request has been submitted and I would receive my check in 4 to 6 days by mail". I was disappointed but needed a mower in July not Aug. Called July 17 for check status and get told my funds had NOT been sent AND they wouldn't be sent out until the next 'check run' on July 22! I AM NOT HAPPY. When asked why neither man could tell me the facts Chitra said 'sorry'. When I requested to speak to whoever signs checks for MD she told me that it was the accounting dept. and they only received emails... REALLY? They don't have a phone? No one is in charge? REALLY? MD is not customer savvy. They had no problem receiving MY CHECK within 6 days of being mailed by me & depositing it into THEIR account [June 30]. Looks to me that the BETTER BIZ BUREAU needs to receive my complaint. With a LITTLE communication up front from MD I could still be a future customer - no way now! Hope anyone considering MD chooses a different company to work with. Try working with honest business people, with integrity. MD lacks both.
Ordered a Toro mower at a great discount and a promise to deliver in two days. Sounded too good to be true, but took the risk. It was in our driveway with 48 hours and within a half hour my husband and son-in-law had it assembled, added oil and gas, and it started on the first pull. Husband was mowing with a smile on his face. Totally satisfied!
BUYER BEWARE! I ordered Lawn striper from mowersdiect.com and received 2 very rude email responses from them when I asked a few simple questions about my order. I wish I would have read the reviews from this site before I placed my order with them.
I bought a new zero turn along with several accessories. The mower came in a crushed carton. Luckily it works fine. The arm rests that their site suggested I buy came in but did match my model. When I called expecting to return it for the correct product they told me it was my fault I ordered the wrong one. THEIR site recommended the product to go along with my model. Their return policy... i pay for the original shipping, the shipping to send it back and a 25% restocking fee.
Spoke with Wanda today in customer service. She was arrogant and rude. If you like being treated bad, MowersDirect is the company for you. And given the other reviews here, my experience is not unique.
I purchased a 17 cubic foot cart, Cub Cadet. It was perfect! I never ordered any product from mowers direct before, but I will again in the future. Besides I got to save money for the same product found higher priced on another web site. How can you bet that! ( well you can't!) Thank you Mowers Direct!
WARNING TO ALL WHO PURCHASE MOWERS ONLINE: I bought an electric start mower from Mowers Direct online. The mower arrived with the battery cover off and a the connector for the charger was broken off from the battery housing. I took pictures of the damage and sent them to Mowers Direct. They told me I had to take it to a full service dealer to have it repaired. I asked to ship it back for another one but they told me it would cost $81 to cover shipping both ways. As for the full service dealer, they told me since I did not buy it at the store, it will be three weeks before they will be able to look at it. At this rate I will have my mower fixed just in time for winter. What is funnier yet is the Mower's Direct web page that tells the story of how the company got started. Believe it or not it was the result of a frustrating shopping trip to purchase a mower! I guess they just decided to pass the frustration on to their customers!
I purchased a cordless mower from Mowers Direct last summer, went to use it the for the first time this spring and the battery was already bad, called their customer service number and was informed that the manufacture of the mower I purchased had gone out of business and told that they would pass on the info to see what could be done. I honestly figured I was screwed as I couldn't find the battery anywhere, within two hours I received a call back and was told they had secured an inventory of the batteries to cover an issues with the mowers they had sold from this manufacture and that one was already in the mail to me, Mowers Direct definitely stands behind the products they sell.
I purchased a Cub Cadet 54" RZT L zero turn mower with welded deck from Mowers Direct. The web site is well laid out, and easy to understand the purchasing process. What attracted me to their site was the ability to get a higher quality mower than the big box stores offer, coupled with low price, no taxes and no shipping charges. I especially liked the option to pay by check instead of Credit Card and receive a 2% discount.
I did submit an online question regarding assembly, which was answered by the next morning. I did not give 5 stars, only because they do not give you much lead time on the expected delivery date. I received an email on Monday that it had shipped and would be delivered on Monday, and a call I placed on the prior Friday, inquiring on shipping date were not helpful.
When the mower arrived, I uncrated it, attached the seat, battery cables, and control bars. I added fuel and it started up immediately. The Kohler engine runs perfect, the deck was well aligned and ready to mow.
Overall I had a great experience and would definitely purchase from Mowers Direct or their parent company Power Equipment Direct again.
After I received the lawn mower, I filled gas and try to test it. Immediately the gas leaked out. The gas tank was empty in about 2 minutes. All gas I added into the gas tank was on the floor of my garage. I call the customer service of mowersdirect to ask for returning the defective product. They said they wont accept the return because" Engine powered equipment cannot be returned once it has been gassed or oiled due to federal shipping regulations". But that is not true. I contact UPS got confirmed that they will ship a used gas lawn mower as long as the mower was cleaned and packed properly. So tell me you will do if a seller sold you a defective product and let you deal with the problem yourself?
Horrible service, horrible liars.
They sold me 1 mower blade. Usually comes in a set of 3. Why the@#$k would you sell 1 mower blade when they come in sets of 3?
After searching around for a Snapper mower in my area (no one had them last year) I found Mowers Direct online. I looked at all the different models and decided that the price was not that far off from others, shipping ws free and no tax. What a deal!
NOT!
I was notified that the mower would have to be signed for so someone would have to be home to do that. Seeing that I work an hour from my house my wife made arrangements to be there once the call came in that they were on their way. Well, that call never came. When we arrived home that evening we found the mower on our front porch. Now here come the good part.
When my son got home we assembled the mower (per instructions) and filled with gas an oil (which unlike most mowers wasn't shipped with the mower). We had to use the instructions because there were so many different things that needed to be put on the mower. There were missing parts also.
We started the mower on the first pull and made a short pass at the grass to check the height. We shut it down to raise it one notch and made a second pass. After the third pass we had it. I decided that I would run down the edge of the driveway and see how it paced with my walk and BOOM! It stopped running. We were unable to start it again. When pulling the rope the blade seemed to spin freely.
The next day I called Mower Direct and was told that I needed to take it to a local repair shop. Thhy have NOTHING to do with it or YOU once it has been gassed.
Now the local shop is telling me that it appears to have been run with out OIL and the ROD is seized and the cylinders are scored. They are talking with the Snapper manufacturer to see who will pay for it. I am ready to pull payment from my credit card and they can come get it in pieces. It has been tree weeks since I ordered it, I've had to borrow neighbors mowers to cut my grass and I'm out $650.00 (and more maybe). I will be following up with the manufacturer once I have a name and number.
DO NOT BUY FROM MOWERS DIRECT!
Fantastic. I'm very surprised to read all of the negative reviews. Here is my story: I placed an order and mailed in the check. However, I called back to cancel part of my order because I found the mower used from a friend and thus no longer had a need for it in my order. I still wanted to keep the other components and parts that I ordered. So, I called and voila, they were helpful, walked me through how they might handle it and explained what they could do. It seemed it would take a few days or a week, but it would get resolved. Fair enough, easy enough. But, about 20 minutes later, I got a call back from the lady that helped me and she explained that there was an easier way and she had worked out a way to expedite the process. We talked through it, placed another new order for the parts I wanted and she explained how it would all work. Who takes the time to do that from an online retailer? I was honestly very surprised. In fact, I will only ever order mower parts and components from this retailer. Their service is awesome.
I bought a Lawn Striping Kit for my mower and the order was in "processing" for three days, when I called the Mowers Direct customer service it sounds like I got a hold of someone's grandma and all she could tell me is that when it ships she will send me an email and read me some line of crap off their website about shipping. Their customer service is poor, I contacted the manufacturer for the striping kit which it shipped a day later and I still have not got a response from the email I sent Mowers Direct.
I was sent a Cub Cadet mower that I truly believe was a return they sold me as new. I asked about it as it came leaking oil in a totally trashed box. They swore it was new. I barely used the mower and now have to pay to have it picked up by a Cab Cadet service place as I can't return to them and get no offer of any compensation for the piece of trash they sent me.
Answer: You should be. I bought mine locally and love it. The mower if fabulous. Mowerdirect.com is a nightmare.
