I just received my first Mixbook photo album. I finally got around to putting together my wedding album (almost 5 years later). I came across Mixbook while browsing different options for a photo album service that wasn't going to break the bank. I am so glad I took a leap of faith and ordered through Mixbook. The reviews are very mixed... I was nervous. The book is high quality and feels expensive (not as expensive as other websites I looked at). I am super thrilled and happy with my wedding album. The shipping was quick! Thank you Mixbook! I will definitely be ordering more photo books from this company.
This is my third book from mixbook and they did not disappoint. I needed a book in a hurry and didn't have time for trying other sites to see if they had overcome their issues (they all have something). While they can improve the features on the layouts still, they get an extra star for meeting my timeline with a great quality book.
I was making a 60 page 225 photo photo book. I have at least six hours of time with customer service service much less how much time I had replacing pictures that were no longer there. The first problem was I worked until, but I was at 3/4 of the way through the project. When I opened it back up That page 50 on all of the layouts were gone and it was set with just one picture per her page. When I called customer service basically they called me and said there was nothing that they could do and I had to put in my pictures again they too I had reformatted maybe a third of them then the button that you use to delete pictures that are duplicates or pictures you don't want to use disappeared. They had no idea what it was or how to use it and told me, guess what, I had to put the pictures in all by myself. Today I saved my book went did something else and I came back and at least half of the pictures that were in the layouts were missing. I asked to please restore the pictures from my save in my back up. Well, that's a lie they do not have any save her back up. There's nothing to save, the software saves any every minute so if you open it and then there's a problem you need to I don't know what you need to do because in one minute it'll be saved and you can't go back and there is no restore so don't believe them. The software and the app after all this time is absolutely crazy. I'm working on Shutterfly and have some hopes that I get better luck with them never ever use
But mixbook is not nice. Customer service starts with friendly emails but thats it. The quality is not good. I ordered 4 books. Not one of them is correct. And one even has not the stated size. The only thing I liked is that you can share your book online. Thats nice.
Mixed book is a great way to keep your memories alive. It becomes a art project that is fun to create. It's a way to capture family memories, vacations, special days and special moments that are shared for a life time.
I only wish the photos could be enhanced within the program. Perhaps I just didn't know this function, and it does actually exist? I only realized after seeing the photos in the book, that the overall outcome could have been better had the photos been enhanced.
I've ordered many books from them (at least 10 a year) and they aren't perfect but have been relatively good and reliable. Based on this, I decided to try their holiday cards. I created the cards and hit preview and the card looked amazing. I got no messages to indicate low resolution on any images (actually I did on 1 image and I changed them). The cards came and 3 of the pictures were blurry and the pictures that were very high quality were almost white washed. I immediately went on customer service and raised my concerns. They asked me to upload a picture of what they sent to 'verify' what I was saying. Then they blamed me for using low resolution photos. I explained that they didn't indicate they were low resolution and the 'preview' of what would print was clear and beautiful. They offered me 50% off my reorder (so I absorb the entire cost of the 1st order and am expected to just try again but for 50% off). This still didn't help with the faded white washing of my kids school pictures that were uploaded at the highest resolution.
So I'll order books again in the future but never again will I order anything else.
I ordered a custom layflat photobook from Mixbook to gift to my parents, filled with photos and memories from our wedding this past summer. This was not just a purchase; it was a sentimental token meant to encapsulate one of the most special days of our lives.
Sadly, the experience turned from excitement to disappointment when the photobook arrived dented, diminishing the quality and appearance of what was supposed to be a premium product. The emotional setback of receiving a flawed version of something so meaningful was profound.
Upon contacting Mixbook's customer service, I was met with responses that felt dismissive. Despite explaining the sentimental value and the inconvenience caused, the resolution offered was a mere $12 shipping refund. This felt like a token gesture and in no way matched the level of disappointment we experienced.
This experience has unfortunately overshadowed the joy we hoped to share with our parents. Mixbook's failure to adequately address and resolve an issue tied to such an emotionally significant product has left me deeply disheartened. I had expected a company that promotes creativity and connection to be more understanding and responsive to a customer's emotional investment in their product.
To others considering Mixbook for special occasions, please be cautious. While their products may seem ideal, my experience suggests that their customer service might not be equipped to handle issues with the care and understanding they deserve, especially when it comes to items of significant personal value.
Mixbook's format allows me to create, not just photo albums, but storybooks too. What a nice way to combine photos and stories.
The finished book is beautifully printed. I always buy a hard-covered book.
I have been making some photo books from ritz camera for our daughters birthday parties for a couple years. I stopped this year due to the high cost. I found mixbook and the price is almost half of what I have been paying. The quality looks even better and it is really easy to use the website.
I was crunched for time and by mistake did not send priority. They rushed my 11 books needed for a memorial service. The books came out great and I was relieved in the quick service. They let you know if a photo is blurry too. I will definitely use them again.
With the printed result of my photo book. It was a professionally bound, beautiful volume that displayed my photos and text beautifully. It was easy to create and I am so happy with the result.
This company has gone downhill fast! They misprinted my book (sent my cover with someone else pages) and repeatedly have had "engineer issues" with their app. The photos when uploaded using your iPhone uploaded in black and white. It takes hours on the chat line and then days for them to fix. It has happened multiple times. With so many options use another company! As I said it used to be a good company but has gone downhill and is just not worth the frustration when using photos from a phone
Lots of issues that turned what could be a 2-day tasks into a several days task. Note all of these issues have been reported to Customer Service and they confirmed there was no work-around.
1. Website freezes when one tries to upload many pictures (the site claims it can upload a whole directory of px)
2. There is no way to insert or move one page between 2 other existing pages. Unbelievable, isn't it?
3. There is no way to add 1 page (one must add 2 at a time). This is also unacceptable.
4. It is difficult to COPY a px as the Edit window would pop up over the COPY option window (extremely annoying and one has to keep on trying)
5. The Edit window is overly sensitive to any cursor movement and keeps on popping up when one moves 6. It is difficult to add a TEXT (one must keep on trying)
7. It is difficult to move a page to another from the spread window (the page scrolls uncontrollably
8. The list of issues could go on.
I have made a number of memory books using the Mixbook format.
I found it pretty easy to use and there was a chat partner if I had questions. Once you learn the ins and outs it is easy to use.
I have been very please. Proofing is a little difficult. I always find a few typos when I get the real book. Will continue to use.
I have ordered two books from Mixbook. The latest book was completed and delivered in January 2022.
Pros:
Easy to use
Lots of stickers and background to add to your project
The hardbound laminated cover is BEAUTIFUL
Cons:
If you're not 100% satisfied email BEHAPPY.COM That is a bunch of crap. I had several pages that didn't print properly. They look like stripes across the page and photos... perhaps like the ink was low. I emailed customer service with photos and also emailed BEHAPPY.COM and after 3 weeks I have had zero communication from Mixbook. So they really dont' want me to be happy. They want me to go away. My project was 207 pages so I spent a lot of money on this book.
I do want to BE HAPPY but so far Mixbook is all talk and no action.
I went to mixbook because online site said they were rated the highest overall for photo books, WHAT A MISTAKE. They are OK on user ease, but when I did have an issue you cannot reach anyone who can help with their editing tools. No one speaks english well enough to understand your questions. Then when I finally left the issue because I needed the book for a very special event, I ordered and paid extra for 2 day shipping and was promised the book by today, guess what NO BOOK. When I chatted online and then called once again, no one can help. They have to email their print team and wait for a response. I spent a ton of time on a very special book for a special occasion and no one there could care less and wont or just plain cant help. I will NEVER use them again. Just TERRIBLE customer service.
I had a very good experience. When I reached out to customer service I always received prompt service from professional staff
I have used another site which seemed to offer a little more variety in stickers and layoutsparticularly for 8+ pixbut I learned to maneuver pix on my own... perhaps that's what I am supposed to do?!?!
Overall, experience was great, quality of book was very good, user friendly and intuitive, import of pix was easy. I would certainly use Mixbook again.
I loved creating my sons "before you were born" book. The process was seamless and the final product was beautiful! Currently completing his first year book right now!
Mixbook has a rating of 2.2 stars from 53 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Mixbook most frequently mention and customer service. Mixbook ranks 120th among Photo Printing sites.
